  1. We are getting an all new, brand new kit from a company most had given up for dead 6 months ago and the best we can do is start guessing which part of it is going to be inaccurate? Jump to conclusions on what the next version of it will be? People! Let's be grateful we have this new kit which, at first glance, appears to be fairly accurate. Secondly, history has taught us that most new tools from Revell in the last 20 years will yield several versions and we need to let them play out. Who knows, maybe a 68 Malibu wagon is on the horizon! I am just glad to see new tooling coming forward, it gives me hope that we are being listened to and some of our wishful thinking is turning into reality.
  2. Hope you can dispose of them. If you can package them in large lots it will go faster, reducing the number of trips to the post office or UPS. If you sell on eBay, you will likely get more for them, or at least for the ones deemed "desirable" but might be left with some that are harder to get rid of. Be prepared to take less than what you feel is a fair price unless you want to keep re-listing them until someone takes them. Be upfront about shipping, the biggest complaint about eBay sellers is their shipping times. If you are only going to ship on Saturdays, end your auctions on Wednesdays to give buyers time to make their payment and you time to box and ship on time.
  3. I was in Knoxville earlier this week and made it home today (back in Charlotte). I saw several caravans of utility repair crews making their way east to the Carolinas to stage and get ready for the aftermath. Also saw several caravans of ambulances and water rescue teams from fire departments making their way as well. Stopped and got gas in Tennessee and was talking with a crew that flies rescue helicopters, they were dispatched from Kentucky! You don't realize how much we all pitch in to help one another until you see it for yourself. I am hoping and praying to not need their services as I feel like I have prepared my house and family for this storm. Until it makes landfall and starts on it's path, we don't know for sure how bad it will be. We are 160 miles NW of Wilmington NC, the projected area of landfall, but don't know how much rain and wind and storms we will get. My son is in the NC National Guard and he has been deployed to the coast to serve in a rescue and recovery role. He is a heavy equipment operator and is ready to do whatever is asked to help others, but hopes that he doesn't have to witness much destruction of property or human life. We will get through this much like those in Florida and Texas did last year. Sucks that Mother Nature has to play these cruel jokes on us.
  4. I am in for a couple. Nice to see Revell quieting the critics and naysayers, hopefully there is more like this coming our way!
  5. Watched this build evolve over time, absolutely stunning work! Glad to see it finished.
  6. guess which stamps will be on my Christmas cards this year.
  7. Hopefully they will bundle all three of my orders so it is one package/shipment.
  8. I feel your pain- I have had a busy summer and have spent maybe 2 hours at the bench since Memorial Day. Our problem here has been heat and humidity. A normal summer is 35 days above 90 degrees F and this year we have logged over 60! A lot of humidity has prevented me from painting anything and I have lost motivation on at least 10 WIPs that should be done by now. If the hurricane Florence does in fact hit NC, I might have some time to build next weekend as long as it's daylight!
  9. nice work! Looks like many wreckers back in the day.
  10. I like it! It's a work truck afterall and not supposed to be a work of art like a show rod. You did a great job replicating a light duty dump, picked an uncommon color but then again they all don't have to be red or orange!
  11. You took a kit that lacks detail and accuracy and made it very nice! Great job, too bad they didn't spend some time on making that kit a better representation of the real thing.
  12. Take my money now! Checked it out, some cool stuff coming.
  13. The Ollies in Matthews NC had a ton of the old Lindberg kits, did not see any of the other kits that have been shown in this thread.
  14. Jeff, First off, sorry to hear about your health woes, hope you can find some peace with some answers here. While selling is forbidden but trading is allowed, I would take Casey's advice and put a list together of what you have that you want to get rid of. Conduct business via PM and email and work it out with members here. When I was out of work last year, I was able to sell off 65 kits for about $600 and after shipping I had cleared about $480. Those kits went to a good home and I was able to pay a few bills until I got back on my feet. I had some crazy lowball offers of $3-5 per kit and I just ignored them as I knew I could get 2-3 times that easily. Hopefully one of your kids can help you compile a list and snap a few pictures. Let us know what you have, might be able to work something out with the members here. Take care, let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.
  15. Shhhhhhhhhhhh! Dang it Chuck, now the secret is out! Yes I build, just at a snail's pace and usually for myself! I do have some builds to share, just so busy that I have to remember to stop, take pictures and post!
  16. I have been working on something similar to Casey's pictures of a Terra but would love to have one of these in real life.
  17. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^What he said!
  18. I read that statement Chuck and thought the same thing and then realized it's builds like this one that motivate me to try harder. Great job on this build Eric, you have set the bar high! Thanks for sharing all of your tips and methods, it's what this hobby is all about.
  19. There is a message saying more board maintenance needs to be done, I suspect that could be a part of the problem, but I am no I.T. whiz !
  20. Unless there would be a movie tie-in (see Days of Thunder) what purpose would it serve to reissue an old Nascar kit (that is admittedly readily available rather cheaply) with a fictitious name and sponsor? Do you want to build a 90's Lumina kit with Ben Dover as the driver on the door and Hillary's Hard Drive Warehouse as the sponsor? If they were to re-issue any kits, it would be the ones without decals and let the aftermarket supply driver names and sponsors. The licensing fees would then be the problem of the decal company, not the model company.
  21. Check a NAPA or Bennett Auto Supply store, they have the Duplicolor lacquers in semi gloss, gloss and flat blacks. Fast drying and won't craze the plastic.
  22. Nice work, love the color and the wheels.
  23. Looks good from where I am sitting! I admire your attempt to build something so large, I would be too intimidated. I struggle with the Galaxie trailers, could not imagine trying to scratchbuild something like this! My only advice for cutting long straight pieces would be to create a jig on a flat surface that has a perfect 90 degree angle.
  24. I can see where more of my lunch money will be going next year!
  25. First resin supplier to tool up a conversion kit to take the Moebius F-100 4x4 to a F-250 or F-350 4x4 gets my money. I have the 8 lug wheels and tires already from Scenes Unlimited.
