I used to be into model railroading big time and belonged to the Miniature Railroad Club of York, PA. We created a junkyard scene on the layout and used tinfoil to make a scrap pile. We cubed it up and stacked it like 3 or 4 high and about 6 deep to create a pile ready to be loaded by magnet crane into rail gondolas for shipment to our steel mill. Wish I had some pics of it to share, it looked pretty cool. The scrapyard scene was removed years ago to make room for something else though. Jeff

Great looking Chevy. Only thing it needs is a box of Partagas series D no. 4 robustos on the seat. Mmmm, yummy. Jeff

Great looking 'burban. Really like all the details. Paint looks great. Looks ready to deliver those go fast goodies in the back. Jeff -
Hi Thanks Mark for the info. That sounds right, I forgot about those accessory packs. Jeff

Hi George, thanks for the comments. As others have said, the engine block and heads are from the 66 Chevy Nova kit that I drilled out some of the extra holes in. The crankshaft was in my parts box, but probably came from one of the parts pack engine kits. The piston and rod also came from one of the many parts boxes I've accumulated over the years. I've collected about a dozen of them so far. I keep telling myself that one of these days, I'm gonna give one to Norm from Replicas and Miniatures to get some more cast for future projects. I'm not sure what kit they were originally in, but it wasn't part of the trophy. That piston and rod is a hemi top fuel style (I have some of those also in the collection). If anybody can come up with the origin of that piston and rod, please post it as I'd like to know also. It is a Chevy style piston and rod and were originally chrome plated if that helps. Thanks, Jeff

Great job! I can hear the Dixie horn blowing now. I noticed the camera, but wasn't sure what it is. I thought it might be part of the mount to the dust cloud. Thanks for clarifying that guys. Keep up the great work. Jeff

Great job. It brought a smile to my face, but a tear to my eye at the same time. Such a shame to end a beautiful 58 Plymouth, lol. I must agree, not what I was expecting when I read the title. Jeff

I always liked this kit. It builds up nice. Here's my take on the last reissue. A hauler to the track for the local speed shop's coupe. I know the slicks shouldn't be on a tow vehicle, but the pad printed donuts looked too nice not to stick on. I originally built it to put over a slot car chassis, but it was too nice with the interior in to use it for racing. The engine's just the top part sticking out of the hood. I was inspired by those old Hot Rod Magazine photos showing the fuel boys rebuilding their rails in the motel parking lot at night, working out of their station wagons. Too cool. I'll have to pick up one of the reissues to build stock now. Jeff

Very cool, I'll bet that paint really pops out in the sunlight. Just looks right, not overkill. Jeff -
Awesome! Beautiful build of Baby. I can just hear the doors creak open and closed now. Don't forget the Holy Oil and goofer dust too, lol. I NEED to do this car someday, I hope the announced kit coming out looks this good. If not, all I got to say is "BALLS!!!" Jeff

Ft.Wayne International Harvester Home coming
Goose1957 replied to ranma's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Wish I could make it there. I would LOVE to see that many Scouts in one place. I would spend WAY too much money there also, lol. Too many family commitments. Hopefully, someone will take and post lots of pictures. Thanks for the info. Jeff -
I pass by this lot every day on my way to and from work. Not sure of the name of the company as I never see a sign, but they must specialize in unusual cars and trucks. The first pics have some cool classics on. The next ones have a special load that must have come out of Texas (Texas plates on the Mustang). Jeff

Same here. I'm a HUGE fan of the show and can't believe how long this took to make. I hope it's an accurate rendition of "Baby", and not just a cobbled together effort just to get it to market. That will determine how many kits I'll buy. I have a couple of the 2 door kits I was going to kitbash, but I'll wait to see what actually makes it to the shelves first. Jeff

This is the one I want released. Not sure what model it is, but I want to do a diorama with it, lol. From the movie The Gods Must Be Crazy . Jeff

Beverly Hillbillies truck
Goose1957 replied to BIGTRUCK's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I keep coming back to this, it's so nice. Every time I look at the pics, I see something that I missed before. The figures turned out great. I agree, people are the hardest thing to model. I can never get the flesh looking right. Takes a lot of talent to get the skin looking like it's alive. Your figures just add that special touch that makes it instantly recognizable as the Beverly Hillbillies truck. Great job. Jeff -
The Undertaker is coming.
Goose1957 replied to Geno's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That turned out great! The color choices, the decals, even the bones all came together nicely. Reminds me of the original Grave Digger monster truck from back in the day. Good work. Jeff -
Hobby Lobby Summer 19 clearance
Goose1957 replied to Mr. Metallic's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the heads up. I scored 2 IH Scout SS kits (yea, I have a thing for Scouts, lol), another Jeep Commando, and a Datsun pickup kit tonight at the local HL. Might run back tomorrow and get the 3 in 1 boat and a 65 El Camino. They did have the 66 Suburban on sale too, but I have a few of those already. I won't be too greedy and leave some for everyone else, lol?. Good hunting. Jeff -

Season 6 episode 8, hey that's John Milner's coupe from American Graffiti! Cool to see it used again. And yea, as a kid I LOVED the show Emergency. Jeff -

That is so sweet looking. You gave me an idea to use on my real Scout too, lol. Great work as always, I love seeing your Scout projects. Fantastic weathering too. Keep em coming, always more Scouts needed. Jeff -

Maybe they were the stunt doubles. The article below says they use 7 cars for filming, and not all are bad. I know the article is a couple of years old, but still a good read. I hope this link works, I'm amish when it comes to computers, lol. Jeff https://driving.ca/chevrolet/impala/auto-news/news/supernatural-impala-is-a-big-block-powered-demon-hunter

I hope it's a true 4 door '67 Impala, and not a reboxed 2 door or other current kit like they did to some of the other movie kits of the past (the American Graffiti kits come to mind). I'm a HUGE fan of Supernatural and have several of the 2 door kits I was going to try and hack into "baby". I also have the Green Light diecast and it isn't quite right either. Please make it a true to the tv series Impala and I'll buy multiple kits. And an opening trunk with a secret compartment would be really nice too, lol. Jeff

Jeep Gladiator pickup
Goose1957 replied to landman's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That came out very nice, now I'm not sure how I want to go with my Honcho kit. Really like the wheels and tires. Nice build. Jeff -
Great review, now I have to buy 3 of these, one to shelve and 2 to build. Jeff
