Racing, Hot Rod, truck and aircraft engines by FTB
Goose1957 replied to landman's topic in Model Cars
I saw one in person at the NSRA East show at York, PA several years ago. It was set up basically the same as your model version. I think it was in a 29 Ford if memory serves me correct. The sign sitting next to the rod stated that it was a very rare original one. I snapped some pics of it, but sadly, they were on a memory card that went bad and are lost.? Your version, as always, looks great. Jeff -
Yep, another Revell Bronco
Goose1957 replied to shoopdog's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Nice looking Bronco. Makes me want to start on one now. I like just the hood decal, the side trim makes up for the lack of the side decals. Nice color choice too. I see what you mean about the license plate, oops! Jeff -

Wow, that's cool. Looks like a lot of fun to drive. 1/4 mile burnouts for sure. The modeling is just terrific. Nice color choice. Everything just works. Nice job. Jeff -
Krylon paint trick, is it for real??
Goose1957 replied to thatz4u's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I like to ues Krylon because of the spray nozzle. I think it puts out a nicer spray pattern. Years ago I made a paint dryer using an old steel bread box. I put a ceramic light socket and a 40 watt bulb in it for the heat source. When I'm ready to paint something, I put the body/parts in it along with the can of paint and let them warm up for about 15-20 minutes. The 40 watt bulb doesn't get too hot, although one time I had the bottom of a can of Testors bulge out. But I never had a body warp. The paint flows a lot better and puts out a finer mist this way. Plus the parts are at about the same temperature as the paint and speeds up the drying. Plus there's no air moving to kick up any dust. My paint jobs aren't as professional as a lot of you guys, but works just fine for me. Jeff -

Wow that looks good. Nice little details. I love the "wash me" on the back window, you can almost see the fingerprints in the letters. Nice job bringing to life a simple snap kit . I know, I just built one myself and didn't turn out anywhere as nice as yours. Jeff -

Very nice. I'm working on one of these right now and you gave me some inspiration on the engine bay. Nice color choice. I like what you did with the mirrors. Nice paint work on the grill. Good job. Jeff -

This!!! They need to rerelease the offroad version of the Scout. It has all of the extra goodies, like the spoke wagon wheels and other offroad stuff. I'd buy a half dozen kits at least, lol. I wish they would add some street tires to the kit too. I'd like to build some stock versions. Please Round 2, do this soon. Jeff

I picked this up at CVS a couple of weeks ago. I'm a sucker for wagons and the woodgrain on this one spoke to me, lol. It's a Chrysler LeBaron Town and Country made by Motor Max. I thought I'd just add it to the shelf. Then later that night, I was cutting car ads out of some old National Geographic magazines I was cleaning out of my parents house and I came across this ad. I thought it was a sign, lol. What are the odds of that happening? Pretty cool to have an ad for the real macoy for such an obscure diecast subject. The ad was from a 1979 issue and the bottom of the diecast says it's a 1979 model. Cool. I guess I should have played the lottery that night too. Oh well. Nice, fairly accurate diecast for $13.99. Now, I'm hooked on these inexpensive diecasts too, lol. Jeff

Jeep Grand Cherokee
Goose1957 replied to Steamboat's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Yea, I want to get one when I find one that isn't too pricey, or hasn't been opened up and started. This!!! I hope some executive from a model company sees this and realizes the market potential for an xj. It would be huge. The customization possibilities are endless. Jeff -

Great looking Jeep. I just wish they did these in 1/25 scale. The mud looks great on that. Jeff -

Cool conversion. I built one of those quick builds with my 4 year old daughter and I thought the same. Nice kit that has lots of potential. Of course I'll have to buy another one because "that's hers" and I can't touch it. Lol Jeff
