I understand. Not every show is liked by all. Try as I might, I just can't get into The Walking Dead, yet it seems to still be wildly popular. Yea, I think Grimm was a copycat of Supernatural. There are some other cool cars on Supernatural. One of the earlier characters drives a beat up 70 Chevelle and has a junkyard full of old muscle cars. And I agree, some of the weapons handling on the show makes me cringe, but hey, it's hollywood, where anything's possible. Jeff

Yep, was gonna suggest that episode. Plus, it's pretty funny if you're a regular to the show. Another is the final episode in season 5, the opening sequence shows actual footage of the 100,000,000 GM vehicle leaving the assembly line, a 1967 Caprice. Some good footage of Baby in that episode too. The further into the seasons you go, the more you see the car. Snake, I can't believe you can't get into the show, lol. What's not to like, lots of muscle cars, lots of guns, (Dean has an awesome, engraved, nickle plated genuine Colt 1911a1). Great "real" rock for the soundtrack also. Some hot women too. I know the whole "Supernatural" thing with ghosts, vampires, demons and the like is hokey sometimes, but I got hooked on the show for the cars, guns, classic rock, and hot women. And yes, I'm 49, married with children, and don't live in my mom's basement, lol. Yeah, I can see about a dozen places in that video where the part in the tweezers would go flying into the stratosphere for me if I tried something like that, lol. Incredible engineering and craftsmanship in that car. Some people's building skills are truly amazing. Jeff

I paint almost exclusively with spray cans right now. I have an airbrush and used to use it a lot when I was a model railroader. I can get great results weathering with an airbrush. But I lost my workspace where I used to paint and are reliant on painting outside when the weather permits. Someday when I get a more permanent workbench set up, I'll probably start using my airbrush again. I'm no pro at building models, so rattle cans are good enough for me. With practice and patience, a very nice paint job can be achieved with spray cans. I personally like Krylon spray cans myself. If you check out your local hardware store, they usually have a large selection of colors, almost as good as a hobby shop selection. Jeff

Nice job on the Rubicon. Haven't seen the movie, I only saw the first one. But that's a good looking Jeep you built. I think I read somewhere that the Revell kit was based on the diecast for the movie, so that makes sense that it looks like the one from the movie. Welcome back to the hobby, keep on building. Jeff

I saw the thread in the truck section, of an rc chassis with a styrene truck body on it and thought we might have a thread for pics of such vehicles. I know this is a model car forum, but in a way, these rc cars and trucks are scale models. I just recently entered the world of 1/10 scale rc rock crawlers and was amazed at whats out there. Some of the builds would win trophies in a model contest. I don't want this to turn into a technical thread about what's what and all in the rc world, there are separate forums for that. I'd just like to see some pics of SCALE rc cars and trucks. Thanks for sharing. I'll start it off with mine. Jeff

Thanks for the info. I understand about being top heavy. I can see that being a problem with it. I got my start in rc a couple of months ago with a Red Cat gen 8 Scout II (I have a thing for Scouts). Very addicting hobby. I have the "I wants" bad now for more crawlers, lol. Thinking about a Traxxas Chevy Blazer next. Then I saw the 1/24 scale crawlers and it got me thinking about what you did with your rig. Might still have to go that route also and combine my hobbies too. I know this is a model forum, but these scale crawler trucks are just as much a model as plastic styrene models that just sit on a table. The details and aftermarket parts available for them is incredible. Some look just as good as any static model and they can run and drive over things too.? Jeff

Cool. I just recently got into 1/10 scale rock crawlers, saw these at the hobby shop and though the same thing. I was thinking of putting a Scout body on, but I thought the crawler looks a little too big. I think they look about 1/22 scale maybe. I never measured anything, haven't bought one yet. I did buy some of the tires though thinking I could use them on some plastic model projects, but I think they're too big. Maybe on a competition machine, but too big for a driver on the road. I really like the way yours looks though. What do you mean about its weight? Is the plastic body too heavy for the drivetrain to power it over rocks now? Thanks for any info. Jeff

Wow, that is sweet! Even without the cargo, that thing will raise some spirits, lol. Beautiful job on the kitbash. Looks like it left the factory that way. When you said rolling stock from a Cuda, I was hoping to see a hemi under there too, but that probably wouldn't fit too well. Nice job. Jeff
