  1. Thanks for the good ideas, everyone! My first thought, too, but I've run the mower at least twice this year, maybe 3 or 4 times, fueling it from the same can. No problems until yesterday and we haven't had any wild weather fluxuations that might lead to condensation problems. That's brilliant! That'll be the first thing I check when I get to it. Thanks! This will be the second thing I check. Sounds like more good advice.
  2. Walmart had one of these in again today. Shape doesn't look bad so I bought it for my 1G Camaro collection. I think I can do something cool with it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/234469562733
  3. I think more people have walked on the moon than have sat in the #1 slot of America's list. Let's see... Axeman, Kye Kelly, Ryan Martin, Bobby Ducote, JJ Da Boss...who else?
  4. Just finished mowing my lawn. Wasn't sure the mower was gonna make it (a John Deere). Never any problems before, but today it kept "hunting" and surging and acting a couple times like it wanted to cut out completely. Bad gas? I'll check the oil and spark plug and fuel filter (if it has one) later. Any other ideas?
  5. That's not a Manx, that's an EMPI Imp. It has a decent chassis/engine, too. Would the chopped wheelbase be long enough? Revell also did a 1/25 Beetle in several different iterations, if the full wheelbase is needed in 1/25.
  6. What scale is the MPC body? Is it 1/25? IIRC the Tamiya VW is 1/24. The difference could cause problems.
  7. So JJ DID make it to #1 last week! Looks like he might lose it to Ryan tonight but at least he got there for a week and no one can ever take that away from him. Congratulations to JJ!
  8. I'm working on setting this to music. It deserves to be our New National Anthem.
  9. I was under the impression that "C2" referred to the '63-'67 cars and "C3" was for the Shark years, '68 though '81.
  10. Different and therefore interesting! Well done and model on!
  11. Those look a lot like my Snake-Fu'ed glue bombs...and members of my imaginary late '70s hot rod club The Retrobates.
  12. Looks familiar! I too bought a '69 Camaro in 1974, for $1400, but mine was an SS350/RS with PS and power disks, console, M20 4-speed, 3.55 Posi rear. I drove it for 7 years and sold it for $1000. I miss it every day.
  13. I think the term was meant to differentiate it from the common Top 40/pop music on so many stations. Now I think it mainly means "stuff you probably won't hear anywhere else."
  14. The best C2 BBC emblems I've ever seen were on a late reissue of the Monogram '65. I suppose these got "wiped" on the next reissue, which was the '66 racer version.
  15. Indeed I would, as I'm planning a very similar project. Model on!
  16. The original "Hot Tranny Mess"!
  17. Heard a great computer joke today: Q: Why don't the British make computers? A. They haven't yet figured out how to make them drip oil.
  18. JJ's in #2 slot! Good chance he can get to #1 before the season is over, even if only for a week.
  19. Too much grease is my complaint about Krispy Kremes and most locally made donuts. DD's cream-filled are my alltime favorite donuts.
  20. Interesting that these were molded in gray, not the standard white. I have three of them (all glue bombs or started builders) and they're all gray. The MPC C2 bodies are very similar to the AMTs, with one notable exception: The A-pillars on the '63 coupe were all chrome; subsequent years were body color. MPC got this right. AMT never changed the A-pillars from the '63 on subsequent years. This MPC kit is the only Corvette ever that had a somewhat accurate "hump" hood for the big block. I have three of them--two have the blower hole already cut out. The third is unaltered. I'm gonna take a mold off it to repair one of the others. Here's a glue bomb survivor I restored a couple years ago. The purple paint is original, touched up here and there. I put it on a simple AMT chassis just to keep moving. Note the blower coming through the original humped hood.
  21. As everyone else has said, this is absolutely MAGNIFICENT! Well done and model on!
  22. I did a lot of diddling with wheels and tires on this build to get the "sit" I wanted. Pretty sure you're right that those aren't from the kit.
  23. Beautiful! Great finish--what's the paint?
