  1. And the parking lights in the front fenders, too, which the '65 doesn't have. WTH?
  2. Very cool! I already have three M2 Mustangs but if my Walmart has that one, I'll get it, too. Thanks for posting it!
  3. What's wrong with the '65 2DS roof? It looks accurate enough to me. Keep in mind that the '65 2DS roof was different from the '62-'64s. I'm gonna try to convert mine to the earlier style, and I'm pretty sure I've figured out how to do it. Stay tuned.
  4. Now, in a model car kit, I want an accurately shaped/sized body where all the parts (hood, pans, bumpers, glass) fit. Some nice wheels/tires are always appreciated, especially if there are usable extras. Everything else (detailed engine, chassis, interior, custom parts, extras) is just gravy.
  5. Where is that? Is that the old airport near Berkely Springs/Hancock?
  6. If I wanted to paint His, I'd try mixing Testor Turn Signal Amber and gloss white. See what happens. Here's another idea: Take the best color print you can make to your local Sally Beauty store and see if you can find a match in nail polish. Might have even better luck with the pink.
  7. Very sharp, very clean! What's not to like? VERY well done and model on!
  8. That'll work. The AMT '66 PS chassis fits under there with little or no modification. Drive on!
  9. Thanks for the kind words, fellows. Model on, and save those glue bombs!
  10. Mr. Metallic should like this one. This is an MPC '66 Vette I rescued a few years ago. Was gonna strip it, but tried polishing the original paint just for giggles, and it shined up beautifully! All except the driver's door, where it was a bit thin and looked blotchy after polishing, so I had to camo that with decals from a recent reissue '63.
  11. Thanks for the kind words, Mark! Model on!
  12. Mr. M, I'll give it some thought. The engine looks like something I could piece together out of reissued '63s. I was thinking of using the BOS injector scoop just to use something from the original, but of course the chrome is shot, so I might've gone ahead and replaced it anyway. Drop me an email: SnakeACP45 at aol dot com PS: Maybe your interior is from the AMT roadster, which had separate seats 1965-67.
  13. The first one that falls into the Snakepit is getting turned into a phantom Coupe.
  14. I'd advise ordering several now, while you can still get them. Who knows what the future will bring?
  15. After 24 hours in Lake Purple, 98% of the paint is gone--a few spots left in corners that should be gone by tomorrow. (I think it was probably AMT Root Beer lacquer.) The body is FAR too nice to re-use for this funny car. I'll scrape up the parts I need to do a stock resto on it. Only damage on it is some slight glue damage where the parachute was, but the distinctive '67 backup light is intact. I don't think the FI emblem is on that silver body. I have several spare '63 coupe bodies, so I'll pick the worst of them for the reborn "The BOS." The plan is to fill the front fender vents and roof vents and remove the rear window splitter and make it into a "generic" C2 body. It'll get a new engine--possibly the early Hemi in the Double Dragster. Ironically, the only original BOS part that gets reused on the reborn BOS might be the windshield.
  16. Different and therefore interesting. Well done and model on!
  17. Oh, and if you think I'm nuts considering putting it on a Double Dragster Fiat chassis, here's how a C2 body sits on that. So it's definitely do-able.
  18. Was looking for something else completely in the Snakepit the other day and ran across this glue bomb AMT '67 Vette I bought off eBay over a decade ago. It must have been part of a group/junkyard as I don't see myself buying this turd as-is by itself, but it's been so long, who knows? As you can see, someone tried to make a funny car-ish out of it by moving the engine into the passenger compartment. Believe it or not, this general idea intrigues me, and the hole in the windshield is amazingly well cut. I'm thinking of putting it on the chassis from a Double Dragster Fiat and making an AA/Altered out of it. Since taking these pics this morning, I disassembled the hot mess and guess what, that AMT '67 body seems to be in remarkably good shape. We'll see tomorrow after 24 hours in Lake Purple. If it's in good condition, I might set it aside for a stocker project and substitute in a common-as-dirt '63 body, which would let me move the thing backward in time to 1965 or '66, which makes more sense (to me, anyway). I managed to get the glass out in more-or-less reusable condition. And what's inside/underneath? A time capsule as to how to make a model funny car, circa 1967: 1. Glue engine/transmission direct to the chassis. 2. Glue dashboard to top of transmission. 3. Squeeze a parts-box driver seat in there. 4. After opening up the windshield for the blower scoop, done! Notice that the nicely-wired engine is one of the ultra-rare Chevy Double Secret Mystery Motors, with spark plug wires running through the lower part of the valve covers!
  19. As I've said several times, I'd rather bring a rare old goody back from the grave than work on the latest wonder-kit. I hope the Moebius Novas make their way north very soon--you'll love them! Model on!
  20. Thanks so much! Greatly appreciated!
  21. The orange is starting to grow on me. Thanks for the kind words!
  22. I gave up on them years ago (decades?). Went to Micro Metal Foil Adhesive and common, cheap kitchen foil and hardly ever miss BMF.
  23. The chassis and engine and glass and that's about it. Body, hood, interior, wheels would all be different.
