  1. Same here. Also, a few that are available in styrene, but I don't want bad enough to put the effort into building a raw kit of it. I've found diecasts to be an interesting branch of the hobby in their own right. I have over 100 now, most I've paid $10-$15 for.
  2. Very sharp build! VERY well done and model on!
  3. I like where you're going with this. Drive on!
  4. Very most way excellent! Thanks for sharing it!
  5. Very, VERY nice! Here's mine. As I said, I had a lot of time in reshaping the whole front end.
  6. Pretty cool! Reminds me a little of Disco Dean. Model on!
  7. Yup. It won't end well for you. Seems to be unlucky for some reason.
  8. I have a hilarious answer but it would probably get me banned here, so you'll have to think of it yourself.
  9. I haven't started my Riv yet. Just checking in to make sure the deadline is still March 15. I need to get started, but should have plenty of time to gitter done, especially since I'm not painting it, just polishing the beautiful 1966 white plastic.
  10. Very nice, very clean! Well done and model on!
  11. I like where you're going with this. Drive on!
  12. Saw one on Dexter New Blood on Showtime.
  13. Very, VERY sharp, very clean! Well done and model on!
  14. Believe it or not, the next thing I clicked on on this forum after reading your post had a big ad for--Hellman's Mayonnaise! And I've never seen that ad here before--or anywhere else, for that matter!
  15. My last experience with these was at the beach about 20 years ago. I bought the rubber-powered, prop-driven version with wire landing gear and plastic wheels--top of the line. I think that one sold for 79 cents when I was a kid. I think I paid $3 for it at a beachfront kite shop--as I said, 20 years ago. That one must be $10 now!
  16. I remember those--they were everywhere including drug stores when I was a kid and sold for a dime. What do they cost now? Over $1, I'll bet.
  17. I'm looking forward to when you start researching the exact shade of blue on that Supermarine. I have a couple Brit magazines from the '70s that have whole multi-page articles on that very subject, but no conclusion reached.
  18. Thanks, I have a WIP thread on it, prolly buried a couple pages back by now. But I'm making progress on it and hope to have it finished by next week.
  19. That's the way I've always done it, and it works for me. I only spray out a little, and it only takes a few minutes to reach brushable status. Repeat as necessary.
  20. Famous Norm Macdonald joke.
  21. 1. Very sorry to see Lutz's beautiful '57 Chevy destroyed. Glad to see that Lutz himself seems to be okay and in good spirits, though. 2. I really like Jim Howe's Camaro, but was glad to see Northeast beat the Southern Assassins. Rankin did some VERY fine "team captaining," possibly the best I've ever seen. And it looks like it worked for them. Also liked the '69 Corvette (SA), just for something different, and the Old School '65 Nova (NE). That car was a rare '65 2DS--maybe someone will build it from the upcoming Moebius kit. 3. Next week, Cali vs Detroit. I don't like Cali at all but think they're the stronger team of the two. I REALLY don't like Frank and that big tall loudmouth, although it looks like he has a new car, a cool 1G Nova that looks a little like Daddy Dave's. From the previews, looks like Boddie actually wins a race. Also, next week will be the horrendous crash between the Detroit white '69 Camaro (Detroit) and the Hummingbird-looking 1G Nova from Cali. Looks like one of them crosses and hits the other but from what was shown, I couldn't really judge who was at fault.
  22. Very sharp, very clean! A couple of your pics could be mistaken for real. Well done and model on!
  23. Some of my very favorites from back in the day. I built the '65 Chevelle just as shown on the box--still have it and hope to restore it this year. Last year I finally finished up a '66 Skylark just like the one on the box. I hope to build a burnt-orange '55 Nomad like that gasser. And I'm almost finished doing a '65 El Camino that's kind of inspired by this one, but not the same colors. Got a Willys truck about half done which is gonna look that box.
  24. Good luck, Joe.
