  1. That hobby shop might actually still be in the old millennium. Those inter-dimensional portals can be be quite annoying, popping up where you least expect them. Heck, one time I started drinking in a club in Garmsch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria and the next thing I remember was waking up in Innsbruck, Austria.
  2. Picked up these four yesterday: Built AMT 1963 Buick Riviera Built Johan 1962 Chrysler 300 HT Johan 1962 Dodge Dart HT Johan 1962 Plymouth Fury Convertible
  3. I was referring to what Atlantis, or other companies, produce/reissue kitwise. The Sealab was released only once, in 1970. Masterpiece Models makes a Sealab III Resin Assembly Kit, which is an exact copy of the Aurora kit.
  4. Miles, is that hobby shop located near Ong's Hat? That definitely would explain a lot.
  5. True. "Them" must've got hold of the temporal distortion vortex generator I left at a strip bar in Parsippany.
  6. From Atlantis' "About Us": "Another project that was important to us was the Aurora Sealab kit. Unfortunately this project suffered the same fate as the Gladiators. A very high tooling cost and not enough pre-orders just couldn't justify us going forward with the project. It was a real heartbreaker as once again we had all the art ready and had the parts scanned by our factory in China." We could always cross our fingers and hope this'll go through in the future.
  7. Like Forest Hanks allegedly said, "Wondering about what molds Atlantis got is like going to a Chinese restaurant and ordering the house special. You never know what to expect until the waiter brings your plate."
  8. That's the ticket, Richard. Not everything needs to be car-related. Atlantis was able to get a large selection of molds which haven't tasted hot styrene in decades. Iy'll be interesting to see what they are. Maybe Rick picked up the molds for the Aurora Bomarc and other missile kits.
  9. Pretty close. The King Tiger also used similar fan housings. Tiger Model Designs makes them. If the special effects folks who created the Millennium Falcon scrounged Panther fan housings, they'll work just fine in this swell FrankenChebby.
  10. Stevens International has it listed as "In Stock"; but, you know that ain't the case yet.
  11. Bill, check yer inbox.
  12. Where did you read that? Post a link. Obviously, Resin Realm/Star Models is still in business since the styrene kit lists were updated on Oct 9 and I order from there regularly. Why don't you email Steve @ stevekohler@cox.net? He replies promptly and will let you know if what you're looking for is available.
  13. If you're referring to this Why would Revell change anything? It bought up the remaining inventory of GS kits from Accurate miniatures and reboxed them. Nothing more. If you want the correct exhaust headers, get Historic Racing Miniatures HRM-503
  14. Use a semigloss/gloss clear and you'll achieve the proper finish.
  15. Top-notch work on this Schnellboot, Chris. What did you use for the Schnellboot Weiss? I'm slowly working on the Italeri S-100, turning it into an RC boat with functional Lurssen Effect rudder control. Model Master Schnellboot Weiss, which was good, is no longer available. A few years back, I read at one of the RC boat forums that mixing Humbrol No. 28 Matt Camouflage Gray and No. 34 Matt White 1:1 obtains the correct shade. I tried it and it certainly does. The best reference available if Harald Fock's "Die deutcschen Schnellboote 1914-1945". It contains many line drawings, plans and details. Also, Robert Palmacci's Schnellboot! site is a must visit to obtain plans for correcting the S-38 and S-100 boats.
  16. Okay, I did some surgery on a Lindberg '64 Mopar chassis to stuff under the body. Measuring the wheelbase, it comes to exactly 122 scale inches. Supposedly, it should be 116", since the '62-'64 Plymouth and Dodges shared the same chassis. Better for me, less work. I didn't have time to take photos. I'll post them later. The only mod to the chassis was slicing and lengthening the inner wheel wells. The Lindberg leaf springs are 2 mm too short at the rear compared to the Johan chassis; otherwise, the wheel centers will line up in the correct position relative to the wheel wells on the body. I cut the inner fender wells from the Johan chassis, modified them slightly and will use them instead of the Lindberg parts. i also opted to use the Lindberg firewall, which also was slightly modified. It ain't 100% accurate; but, it fits perfectly. I cut the floors from the Desoto tub and will use the Lindberg floor pan. It will provide the missing transmission hump/tunnel absent from the Desoto's tub. I only need to add 4 mm of styrene around the perimeter and the same for the front and back seats to get the proper depth. It'll be easy work to detail the new and improved door panel now. One thing that bugged me was the way the instructions showed how the radiator wall is to be installed. It might just be me; but, it looks like the instructions call for it to be installed upside down. It just doesn't look or fit right if installed per the instructions. This is what I mean: What I did was flip it with the longer edge on top. I removed the raised ridge along the shorter edge so it would align with the splash pan (?); and, now everything lines up and fits a whole lot better, including inner fender wells and the grille/bumper.
  17. No problem, Geoff. I've always liked Humbrol paints. I still get them on this side and even have tins that are 40+ years old that are good.
  18. Rich, FS 16473 would work too. It's a tad warmer than FS 36237; but, inside the ballpark. Funny thing about 36237 is that it was deleted from FS 595. I attempted to make a comparison between 16473 and 36237 here but got an error code. When I checked the 595 palette, 36237 ain't there no more. BTW, check out Tru-Color paints. The Military Colors are excellent! I found this Tru-Color "Grays" color chart at Arizona Hobbies' website. Either color would be suitable.
  19. All except Keith Richards.
  20. I haven't been hacked or had any malware on my box in 11 years. I have the system well protected against any intrusive programs. I use Firefox Tor Browser and HideMyIP. It makes FB and Google's tracking software go nuts when I use an IP from places like Tajikistan or Albania.
  21. FS36237 would work. Checking my trusty Humbrol Colour System, No. 87 Matt Steel Grey is a match. for Chevrolet Engine Grey.
  22. Mach nichts to me. I use a phony name, info and email there.
