1955 & 1956 Ford Hendrix Resin
stavanzer replied to RSchnell's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Looks like it is part of Star Models, now. I've purchased from Star within the last 90 days. They were okay to deal with. Worth an email to Steve, I think. http://www.resinrealm.net/Star/STARModels.html -
These look like they were scaled by the marketing dept. They are "Shelf Scale" to best fit the boxes, marketing had already designed. Sad. Limits sales to just Yellowstone fans.

AMT 1/25 2021 Bronco First Edition
stavanzer replied to Jordan White's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
They all look like that now. Clean Packaging is a lost art. -
Yep, Mike, me too. And yes, Chris seems to be very well aware of what is said about him, both here, and at the "other" forum. And, yes, he appears both not to care what is said, and to be 'trolling' folks, at least mildly. After all, he is building 104 kits a year, provided to him as freebies. What are you doing....?

Anyone Have A History On Otaki Kits?
stavanzer replied to oldcarfan's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Sorry, That I can tell you nothing about the cars, as I have never owned any of those. However, I do know this much. Otaki was one of the first Japanese Model Companies to fully embrace 1/48 scale WW2 aircraft. In their day, Otaki's WW2 Fighters were some of the best out there. The had engraved panel lines on their airplane kits 10-15 years before any other company, and often included a full colour side view painting in the box as a helpful guide., and they were one of the first to offer multiple markings for the subject in the same box. So, Otaki (and later Arii) WW2 Planes are still decent kits 50 years on. -
2019 Suzuki Jimny, Fujimi Models
stavanzer replied to martinfan5's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I had an '88 Samurai. Great little ride. I never got the Fujimi kit, as I did not like curbsides. I should have just bought one. -
Wow! Great execution of a neat idea.
-
Thanks, Roger. I found it.

I can't seem to find a good clear shot of the New Decals. Where is everybody finding one clear enough to read the Engine Size? The Hobbynut link did not give me a very clear image.

Nice Clear Photos! Thanks!

Salvinos JR 1/25 Tour Type Modified
stavanzer replied to Justin Porter's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Read over on the Other Board, that these kits are supposed to have 2 intakes and 2 hoods, so that you can simulate a FOMOCO or GM Motor. It will be neat to see what else might be offered as build options. Probably just one kit, and many, many decals.... -
I'm showing my age and upbringing. I agree with ESPO. My first thought was, "What a Waste", Only later did I think, "That's Cool!"
-
Just plain Cool! Great use of left-overs.

First, for Bob & Steve, official High was 117 yesterday. About the highest I've ever seen in Bakersfield in 40 years. Second, For Les. I feel for you, Sir. I have been there and done some of that myself. We have finally had to back away completely and hand it over to the Local Elder Care authorities. I no longer have the resources (physical or financial) to care for others, who are not family. I applaud you taking on the job. I know that you will do it to the best of your ability. If there is any emotional support I can give you, don't hesitate to PM me, or email. Alan

113 Right now on my Patio. Staying inside, drinking lots of cool drinks. At least I'm at home, and not at work.
