  1. Notice that the Green & Yellow Camaro bodies are different. The Rear Spoiler and Cowl area are not the same. The Green one, has no notch to clear the Blower, and a smaller spoiler.
  2. Others will know better than I but, You had a bad chemical reaction between the primer and paint. You got a form of Crazing going on. Not sure what happened after that, however.
  3. IIRC, a Copy of his "Screech-like" character was used as as a murder victim, in an episode of Law & Order many years ago.
  4. It might need to be shortened to fit, Rick, but it is certainly worth looking at if you have both kits. You know, Monogram did tool up a Blazer of that body style? Hard to find now.
  5. Indeed, Mike. You are correct. At least figure out a way to put dome decent tires and wheels in the kit. But, It is nice.
  6. Daniel,, Maybe this will help tp show the Mindset in the late 1960's & early 1970's that spawned these wacky kits. http://www.showrods.com/home_page_links/home.html http://www.tomdaniel.com/ If you weren't a kid in those days, the appeal of these kits might be puzzling.
  7. A big bowl of Meh. But the engine is very nice.
  8. Good Luck, Tom!
  9. That BK is a bit gaudy, isn't it? Hard to believe that we painted public buildings that brightly.
  10. I cashed the first paycheck from my New Job, yesterday. Wonderful. After being out is work for 5 months, is is good to be working again.
  11. It will be kinda fun to see what livery it has. And, I'll wager that nothing changes as far as the contents, except for possibly having a Taxi Rooftop sign. My guess is that all the police equipment will still remain in the kit too. So, your 429 powered Taxi, is a safe bet.
  12. Actually, the Suburbanite tires are the same height as the Garden Variety Firestones AMT has given us for the last 40 years. I thought the Goodyear's looked too small as well, until I stood them next to each other. They are just as tall. Somehow they do 'look' small though, don't they. I wish Round2 would blow them up to a 7.00 x 16" truck tire size.
  13. I have never seen the Lindberg/Palmer Mustang. Supposedly it and the Dodge Challenger were some (maybe the only), One piece, Slide molded car bodies Palmer ever did. Both retained Palmer's Whimsical sense of body proportion. The Lindberg Versions were better than the Palmer kits of course, but there was no Silk Purse to be found in these Pigs of kits.
  14. Nah, Joe, it just means that contrary to popular belief, some things look better when NOT rendered in Legos.
  15. So? Will it fit the GMC General or Chevy Bison?
  16. You've never spent an afternoon in the late 1990's - (1998-1999) with him. Friend of mine was a writer for one of the 'Kar Kulture' type magazines back then. He got an assignment and tickets for a small car show down in the SoCal area. Barris was there to judge both the 1-1 and model car model contests. I got invited to tag along. It was a great little show, and I got to meet a man I had heard of and read about since I was 12. Boy! What an Eye-Opener. He was nice enough to my friend and me, because were we there from a magazine, but to other people? What a rude, crude guy. He had a potty mouth, and was very aware of his fame. He was, as they liked to say in the old days, "Handsy". The various Pretty Young Things that are a fixture at SoCal Car shows and in 'Kar Kulture' magazines, stayed as far as they could away from him. Oh, they posed for the photos, but then backed away quickly. I am surprised that he got away with as much as he did. But, he was friendly (mostly) with his fans,(in private-between bursts of the crowd, when no one could hear him, what a different story) and was obviously good friends with some of the 1-1 car builders who were there. And, his interest in judging the model car contest was entirely genuine. He really lit up when looking at the builds, and had good things to say about many of them. In short, what I saw that day, (and later at the March Meets where I met him again), was a complicated man who had both good and bad sides. Custom Cars would be a totally different thing without him.
  17. A great comparison of the relative sizes of both machines. That is only a small chunk of P-51, yet is is almost bigger than the car.
  18. I found this article over at Cybermodeler. Has some neat builds of this kit. https://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/builds/amt/build_amt_38555.shtml Alan
  19. So, That was what they were attempting! Sadly, I really like those cars.
  20. I see only two U.S, Style trailers listed, so you are correct. https://www.italeri.com/en/product/2397/7/34 https://www.italeri.com/en/product/589/7/34 I am guessing that in true Italeri fashion, this is the same parts, sold in 2 different boxes, with the chiller parts added to one. There is this kit also. https://www.italeri.com/en/product/590/7/34 But it of course is discontinued.
  21. Jolly Sipper. You have great taste in racing aircraft. The Red One is a DH 88 Comet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Havilland_DH.88_Comet The Blue One is a Caudron C.460 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caudron_C.460 The phot you chose shows modern replicas flying at an airshow (probably in Europe) As for me, My Favorites are 1. F-15 Eagle 2. Spad 13 3. Couzinet 10 Arc-en-Ciel Here is something about the last. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Couzinet_10 I have a weakness for 1930's era French Trimotors.
  22. The May 2001 issue of Model Cars magazine, on page 32 has a photo of a kit built by Doug Hale, and shown at the 1st Seattle Nationals 2000 show. It is a kit bash combining the AMT Star Trek Shuttlecraft and a 1/32 scale Monogram Fire Truck. Called the "Asteroid City Fire Truck", I'm looking for more photos of this build. A freind of mine saw the photo in my copy of the magazine and wants to build his own. I'm trying to help him. Many Thanks!
  23. I've seen the skateboard and bedroll, and the Battery and chains too.
