Yeah, I'm liking the little Ranchero too. I might get one.

That is the old Aurora Kit, Eric. I know next to nothing about it, other than that it is very old. (1965 or so)

Thanks for the help, guys. I suppose the 312 V-8 from an AMT '57 Ford is not a good choice?

A question about this kit. What kit would have a stock engine that would replace the 454 that is in the kit now?

Well, I work in the Transportation/ Oil Industry. (We run flatbeds, and haul exclusively for Big Oil Companies, and some small ones too). I don't see the economy giving the USA the luxury of staying in lock-down much longer. I've lost three customers to this. They've not been sick, but the Oil Price drop has killed their companies. Nieman-Marcus has just declared a BK. We now know how to treat this disease, and I foresee that opening some places up, cannot be put off longer. I'm employed for now, but there is no guarantee that it will continue. Circumstances are changing rapidly, and "Shelter-in-place", is now causing more harm than good in SOME areas. It's time to stop with One-Size-Fits-All solutions and get back to making thoughtful decisions. The time for panic is over.

1934 Ford 5 Window Coupe Street Rod AMT 6686

Notice that the Top Chrome Tree, with the wheels on it, looks identical to the Chrome Tree in the AMT '23 Model T Roadster. I had heard rumors, but never had a chance to see the parts until now. BTW Casey, Great Thread Resurrection! -
I saw this and wanted to share it. Given how members of the same board in different states view things, I thought it apropos. " "Don’t know who wrote it, but it’s spot on! Perspective: WE ARE NOT IN THE SAME BOAT ... I heard that we are all in the same boat, but it's not like that. WE ARE IN THE SAME STORM, BUT NOT IN THE SAME BOAT! Your ship could be shipwrecked and mine might not be. Or vice versa. For some, quarantine is optimal. A moment of reflection, of re-connection, easy in flip flops, with a cocktail or coffee. For others, this is a desperate financial & family crisis. For some that live alone they're facing endless loneliness. While for others it is peace, rest & time with their mother, father, sons & daughters. With the $600 weekly increase in unemployment some are bringing in more money to their households than they were working. Others are working more hours for less money due to pay cuts or loss in sales. Some families of 4 just received $3400 from the stimulus while other families of 4 saw $0. Some were concerned about getting a certain candy for Easter while others were concerned if there would be enough bread, milk, and eggs for the weekend. Some want to go back to work because they don't qualify for unemployment and are running out of money. Others want to kill those who break the quarantine. Some are home spending 2-3 hours/day helping their child with online schooling while others are spending 2-3 hours/day to educate their children on top of a 10-12 hour workday. Some have experienced the near-death of the virus, some have already lost someone from it and some are not sure if their loved ones are going to make it. Others don't believe this is a big deal. Some have faith in God and expect miracles during 2020. Others say the worst is yet to come. SO, FRIENDS, WE ARE NOT IN THE SAME BOAT. We are going through a time when OUR PERCEPTIONS AND NEEDS ARE VERY DIFFERENT. EACH OF US WILL EMERGE IN OUR OWN WAY, FROM THIS STORM. It is very important to see beyond what is seen at first glance. NOT JUST LOOKING, ACTUALLY SEEING. We are all on different ships during this storm experiencing a very different journey. PLEASE REALIZE THIS AND BE KIND."

Yep, That Guy! -
Is that an AirTrax Kit, or a 3D printed one? AMT/Round2 should too up one of these!

Over the years I've built some strange stuff........

The little helicopter that Ray Kurn built. Not to take away from Ray's fabulous build, but I found another build of it, with some History. http://modelingmadness.com/review/w1/austrian/fosterpkz.htm Neat Thing. -
I just stumbled on this. July 18th 2020. Planes of Fame Air museum in Chino Ca. https://planesoffame.org/events-calendar/The-Incredible-True-Story-of-Wrong-Way-Corrigan Wrong Way Corrigan's, Curtis Robin Airplane is now a part of the museum. There will be a special presentation on the 18th of July. This is going on my calendar, and I intend to go. I've been a fan of "Wrong Way" since I was about 11 years old. It will be awesome to see his plane in person. More About Corrigan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_Corrigan A great story! I've seen (poor) video of the 1988 engine run.

Amen, Snake! You took the words from my mouth.
-
I really like Snake's idea. At least this has the one piece chassis. It will make it loads easier to build. What ever my misgivings about Price, Tires, Decals, ect., I'll be buying at least a couple of them to build Box Stock. I really like this kind of car. Maybe the other bodies from this series will eventually get released as well.
-
The LHS and Hobby Lobby will both sell this kit at the full street price, Mark. Retail will not discount the final price just because Round2 cheaps out on the product in the box, sadly. Can we at least get Printed Tires and a better decals, since it's gonna cost as much as a Better detailed kit?
-
Steve. Was it a Canadian Car? If so, that might explain the 454. Other than that, I'm stumped.
-
Heck Yea! Great news, Tim. Round2 for the Win on this one! I'll be buying these kits.
-
I hope they choose better Box Art for it.

Awesome!! I'll be wantin' some O' These! -
That tooling was updated every year up to 1976. That is where it is today. It still has a (not correct) for '76 Big Block motor in the kit. Beautiful Build.
-
This was my first car. 1953 Dodge M-43 Ambulance. I stole this photo from the net, but mine was a similar colour and condition. even had the winch and a 12' A Frame welded to the front bumper. I paid $600.00 for it in 1980.
-
The Colour is perfect! A great semi-TROG build

Wow, this build would look right at home on the "Arts Mechanica" webpage. -
Beauty of a build. The Decal choice is excellent.
