  1. Sounds very similar to WalMart's reason for no longer selling models: the shelf space was not turning enough profit. I sure miss the days when maximum profit was not the only reason for being in business, customer service was just as important.
  2. Exceptional build . I also have one in the stash, may get to it one of these days. Really like the color and the front license plate. "Welcome Home"! from a SEA participant.
  3. Oops, wrong area, moved to parts wanted section..
  4. Beautiful design concept, sleek and simple. I am really frustrated with the gaping mouth fronts filled with chrome bars. My only issue with this one are the door lines. The fronts seem to represent a coupe/tudor and the rears seem to be an afterthought. With that low roofline I believe it would be rather difficult for a person of any size (adult) to be able to enter or egress from the back seat.
  5. Looks promising, nice black paint. Waiting for more updates.
  6. Really nice looking 57, especially like the color scheme. AMT had a '55 Sedan kit and Revell offered a '56 DelRay sedan, don't know how readily available they are at the present, both were released 15 or more years ago.
  7. One question and one comment. COMMENT: Just to be sure everyone understands the idea of using warm water: DO NOT place the can of paint into a pan of boiling water on a stove. Use either hot tap water or very hot water off the stove. QUESTION: I have been trying to use a Duplicolor red and can not get a decent paint job. It looks too thick and almost toyish. I have tried different distances, speeds, and angles, any other suggestions?
  8. Cool build and definitely green. I like what you have done with this one.
  9. If you have a big box craft store (Hobby Lobby, Michael's, A, C, Moore, etc.) check out the jewelry making aisle. They have different sizes of braided cords which make excellent hoses, and they are available in different sizes. Sometimes WalMart has it in their craft section.
  10. Bugs are such fun to drive. Not a whole lot of neck-snapping power to speak of, but pure fun. Just wondering if the dog is getting ready or has already washed your tires?
  11. Let me rephrase that, it works very well on most paints, but not all.
  12. This stuff works very well. I have been using it for a couple of years.
  13. I stopped by my local HL this morning and they had a few marked down, the Surf Buggy, Soapy Sales F/C, and one other for $10.79, had the Lawman Plymouth for $14.99. Didn't buy any of them, cause I had stopped by Ollie's earlier and spent my budget. Seems the shelves were quite full of some newer releases.
  14. If you could find one of these, bet it would cost almost as much as a 1:1 Love that coupe body.
  15. If that is the same molding as in the 69 Galaxie "some work" is being overly kind.
  16. Those are some good thoughts. Just had a brainstorm, why don't I paint an old body with solid colors and see what works.
  17. Hmmm, 48 views and no responses. Does that mean in order to do ghost flames I will need to use a candy color/
  18. What is the procedure for painting ghost flames when not using candy colors?
  19. Excellent attention to detail, beautiful build. Also like your photography. uncluttered and really shows the model well.
  20. Mighty fine looking Comet. Beautiful replica, and that paint is so smooth. What kit did you score that Ford SOHC engine from?
  21. Really sweet Ford, nice overall detail work. My only advice for better pictures is to have a less cluttered background, oftentimes that will detract from what you are trying to show.
  22. Good looking start on this "barn-find" Chevelle. Keep those updates coming.
  23. I have always liked the Birdcage Maserati and you have built a couple of real beauties. What scale are these? I had one of these as a 1/32 slot car back in the 60's.
  24. I haven't built them, but you can find the instruction sheets here: http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/linberg/
  25. Have to agree with all the other posts. This is one dynamite AMC, that color just fits it right. Nice, clean restoration.
