  1. This is a very well built tribute to a talented, underfunded driver. As a teen driver I used to cruise the streets of Elkin, at least until the "Big Uncle" tapped me for service. I have two chairs in my den I bought from Rumple furniture. They used to have one of J D's retired racers sitting in the parking lot.
  2. Excellent build, that blue really looks nice. I have a red one I built for my late wife, she had always wanted a red convertible.
  3. Really nice work and attention to detail. Just wondering if those bolt heads will interfere with the hood closing properly.
  4. Very sweet Mustang and just shows you do not necessarily need an all-out BBF to have fun driving. I would love to cruise around in that one.
  5. Very nice weathering and good build. I see the local dog is helping with the "weathering".
  6. Definitely a different look, but oh so cool. I'm sure a whole lot of GI's would love to take it out on a 'secret mission'. Excellent work.
  7. At least he is not trying to sell a pirate recast. ?
  8. I've been following this build with great interest. I'm really impressed with the amount of detail you have put into such a small truck. Earlier there was discussion about the possibility of the red bleeding through; maybe it is my computer screen, but it seems the cab has a slight pink tone to it.
  9. Got computer barf here also, except for the "test" shots, they came out alright. Would really like to watch this one come together.
  10. Excellent build and a great concept. Really love Gassers.
  11. Excellent use of leftover parts. Parts box builds are the opportunity to use our creative skills and your creativity is coming through beautifully on this build.
  12. Sweet machine, however when they swing around the rear from 3/4 view to full on rear shot I think of a '59 Buick. Maybe it is just my bifocals playing tricks on me.
  13. Excellent MOPAR, beautiful build work.
  14. Going to be a sweet little altered, just love those Fiats. One suggestion would be to change the class designation on the scoop to AA/FA rather than AA/D since it is a fuel altered and not a dragster.
  15. My prescriptions usually come from two different sources. One uses bottles which are made from a harder, clearer plastic whereas the other is a softer more foggy plastic. Anyone with an idea of whether either or both will work. Of course I guess I could test them and see, just fishing for information.
  16. Don't know if there is a difference between Dremel and a Black & Decker hand held grinder. The B&D has a motor mounted under the bench with a flex-shaft going to the hand held grinder. I have used it for many years using a light dimmer as a speed control with no adverse effects that I noticed. I have in the past couple of years switched to a Dremel (Christmas present from my wife) and have sort of retired the B&D, although it is still available if needed.
  17. Very nice for a "toy", you do some fine modeling.
  18. Coming for a die-hard FORD fan, that is one beautiful MOPAR. Your detail work in the engine bay is truly jaw-dropping. Thanks for sharing this build. Do you still own it or is it one of those rear-end kicking got away's?
  19. First allow me to say I know nothing of radiators, except that I need one to keep my vehicle running. I think a lot of the "need" for aluminum over brass/copper is the "bitchin' look" they provide, and the fact every one (or the majority) of the car building shows I watch have usually gone to an aluminum radiator. Looks over functionality will usually win every time.
  20. Don't know if I can fully answer your answer or not. I have a small selection of aftermarket wheel/tire sets. I buy them because I like the looks of them and usually have a build in mind, although I have a few I am still unsure of. As you said 'anything can be customized" and that is what I keep in mind when buying any aftermarket items. The majority of the wheels I have are "female", but will require some modification of the build they are going on. To me, part of the fun of building is making other source parts fit and look right.
  21. Must agree with the others, that is a very nice triad of Deuces. I like the way they sort of progressed from stock class to all out pro-mod.
  22. Have also had floaters for years and my eye doctor just said "Get used to it." Also getting light flashes at the corners of the eyes especially noticeable when turning eyes to the left or right in darkness, such as pulling out of the driveway in the early morning hours on the way to work. Doc had the same remedy for those.
  23. Sox & Martin cars always get my undivided attention. This is one beautiful rendition.
  24. Man, I am Jonesing for a picture, would love to see it.
  25. Really like where you are going with this build. I have a couple in my stash and will hopefully some day get to them. Just wondering about spraying those tires with enamel. Are they dry yet. In my experience enamel never dries on those tires, it will stay tacky forever, but acrylic works very well. Just my $.03 (adjusted for inflation).
