Head on down to Brazil! Quite common apparently. They have a number of weird Ford trucks. T1000 F1000 Turbo anyone?

Cool, Unique, or Unusual Cars on Craigslist

If you have Instagram, follow Cool Craigslist Cars. He posts a ton of interesting Craigslist content. -
Try something from OZTent. One person, 30 second setup. No poles used for the tent, only for the awnings. I've been eyeballing their RX-5 tent. And it attaches to their foxwing awning. Pretty cool camp setup.

Not a meme or a corny joke, but there seems to be a rash of naked people in my city. This is from one of the only twitter feeds I pay attention to. YEG Police Scanner Radio. Naked people in the streets is so common, we now have the #nakededmonton hashtag trending. At least once a week, there's a new naked person doing things. It's pretty amusing.

Excellent work. Will have to look for that paint. Always nice to know of some unconventional options.

What ELSE did you build? Non auto related.

This one is a kit from Pitbull Guitars out of Australia. Excellent quality! But I still did some modifications. I shaved the neck down to get a contour that suits me better, trimmed the headstock a little. I also picked up new Dunlop pots, and got a new set of pickups up for it. Seymour Duncan Nazgul & Sentient set. The paint is all automotive. I sealed the grain with a shellac from Zinsser. Then many, many coats of primer and paint, with lots of sanding between each coat. I have a friend that has a body shop, so I've been able to use his paint booth and paint guns, which helps. This is actually Ford's Oxford White. If you're looking to do one yourself, definitely start with a kit. As I said, this is from Pitbull Guitars. I've finished one of their kits (Jazz Bass kit for my son) and have another to start. High quality components, really good fit and finish. Their electronics are actually quite good, but I replace those in almost everything I have so it's not really a reflection of the kit itself. When they have it in stock, it takes about a week to ship from Australia to Canada, which is pretty fantastic. Will be doing so for sure. Hopefully soon. -

It is much easier to cover a light colour with a dark colour than a dark colour with a light colour. Say your two tone was black and white. Spray the black first, then you have to do some covering with the white. Can be a challenge. Much easier to shoot the white, then cover with the black. -

The new deck was a big project, and definitely a new thing for me. I am no carpenter or woodworker. On any other wood project, my dad was always the lead, as he actually had skills and training as a carpenter. But with dad no longer here, I had to take this on myself. It turned out well, but you'll notice it is very simple, with basic joins and no fancy corners or anything. The only other thing I build was my workbench in the garage. Pretty simple design, and it hasn't collapsed yet, so that's good. Wifey wants be to build some raised planters in the yard, so I'll be tackling that...as soon as we get a weekend where it isn't pouring with rain. This past weekend was the third rainy weekend in a row. I have a couple of guitars on the bench that I'm finishing up. Paint is done, working on the neck now, putting in the inlays and side markers. -
Wait a sec...we have a facebook page?!

I really like that idea. Heck, that's just an excellent idea for my own stuff. -
What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)
iamsuperdan replied to LOBBS's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
What did I get? Well, on the weekend I got my new deck finished. We build the original 15 years ago when we built the house. So it was time for a new one. Wifey wanted a pergola and privacy screens on the one side. Usually, my dad was the wood expert, so he would be in charge of all wood-related projects. But now that dad is gone, this is the first wood project I tackled myself. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. And it hasn't fallen down yet, so that's a plus. Now we need to go get some new deck furniture. Tables, chairs, etc. Plus some lighting, plus some bluetooth outdoor speakers. -
Just noticed over the weekend that he appears in the new show Space Force. He plays Steve Carrell's character's dad. He's pretty funny in it.

Shows cars are definitely not built with the same concessions to practicality that we expect on our real cars. A friend of mine has build up a mid-60s GTO. Complete custom, frame up, nothing left stock. If one of the rear tires gets a flat, it has to go on a flat deck back to the shop, and be disassembled. Suspension and exhaust needs to come out. The rear wheels are so wide, and the car sits so low, that the only way to make everything was to run the exaust under the suspension. It looks awesome, but is kind of ridiculous.

A priest, a rabbit, and a duck walk into a bar. Bartender says, "What'll it be?" The rabbit says, "Nothing for me, I'm only here because of auto-correct."

I'm confused too, and I was part of the discussions to make the changes! lolz We'll get used to it. Ultimately, I think it's organized better now.
