  1. Dang. This is the kind of thing that is going to make me take the plunge and buy this kit. Wifey's gonna kill me when she sees the cost. lolz
  2. I think I might just pick one of these up.
  3. Trying to picture how one would access the engine.
  4. Sad news indeed. But on the flip side...they're all together again.
  5. I'm confused. Why are you posting pics of something you didn't build?
  6. Dang. There was a kit of the Hyundai Stellar?! Add that to the list. My second car was a 1986 Hyundai Stellar GSL. Had it for a year, was an awesome little car. Had a rather inglorious end though. Turned out pretty good, considering it literally rolled down a mountain.
  7. One particular favourite? Can't do it. But some of my all time go-to movies that I can watch again and again? The Jason Bourne movies The original Star Wars Trilogy Alien Aliens Christine Anything Monty Python The Indiana Jones movies, although maybe Temple Of Doom not so much.
  8. The only reason I knew this one is because there is a green one locally that appears at carshows. It kinda stands out!
  9. I've always liked the early 70s generation of Mustang. Would take this over a 60s Mustang for sure. I'm not interested enough to buy one though. I think the Nissan Z would be more appealing if it could be built stock.
  10. Looks good! I searched eBay, tried all sorts of names and titles, but didn't find anything.
  11. Hmm..I have one and I guess have never really checked the box. Had no idea it had no engine! Yours looks great, just like the trucks I see daily. My office is a 5 minute drive from a CN box yard.
  12. Good luck! I was after one of these for years. Finally lucked out with an excellent trade here. From what I can tell, there was one promo kit made and one actual kit made...back in the late 60s. Never been repopped. if they do turn up on eBay, they are not cheap. I was hunting for one so I can build a replica of a car my dad drove when I was growing up in the 80s.
  13. I like it. Can you imagine the uproar if this had replaced the Camaro? And to think Ford almost did that, with the Probe and the Mustang.
  14. Thanks. I actually heard back from Jeff at MCR, and he does indeed sell the grilles separately. Which I just noticed was mentioned above. So I have a couple on the way now.
  15. Nah, you're thinking of Saskatchewan. The Maritimes are known for potatoes, crazy good fishing, and weird accents. No doot aboot it b'y.
  16. Bumping this one up. Anyone have a source for just the WT grille? Willing to buy the Motor City transkit, but really only want the grille.
  17. I'm talking about the Challenger seller. Tons of positive reviews as a seller. So people are buying his stuff and are happy with everything. Just won't be me.
  18. I like how he still charges for shipping. To each their own. He has a very high positive feedback rating, so he must be doing something right. And he accepts offers, so why not price it way high and see what happens? A kit is only worth what someone is willing to pay.
  19. As usual, you're just killing it with this. Love the subject matter, and I'm digging your changes. If you think an Avalanche is over the top, try seeing one in person. It's even wackier. Many years ago, when I worked for Porsche, a local guy had two of them. One was a dark metallic blue. The other was this awful metallic orange fade into metallic red, with a white interior. I mean, I dig the 80s, but this thing was ridiculous. Looking forward to seeing what a "mild" Avalanche will look like!
  20. If you can get it into the Chapters/Indigo chain here in Canada, that would be huge. And much appreciated!
  21. I don't know that I could make a top 10. I know there would be a lot of Tamiya Porsche kits on it. And some Fujimi Porsche kits. But my fav kit is the AMT Chevrolet C1500 454SS. Built a few, have many more to build.
  22. My daughter hit me with a Halloween joke yesterday. "Hey dad, nice ghost costume. You look like sheet." 13, and has the dad jokes down.
  23. What makes me buy a kit? 1. Subject matter. Why buy a kit that I don't really want to build? I'm not a collector, and I could give a hoot about rarity or value. 2. Brand. The quality of North American kits often pales in comparison to the Japanese brands. Plus, the NA brands don't often have the subject matter I like. Having said that, subject matter will always win over brand preference. 3. Cost. There is a price cap that I just cannot bring myself to cross. And it fluctuates depending on how bad I want the kit. Hmm...7 real cars for the garage? Porsche 964RS - In either Rubystone Red or Maritime Blue please. Porsche 996 GT2 - the first Porsche I drove that scared me on the track. And right after, I wanted to do it again. And again. Porsche 959SC by Canepa - the classic, but better. Aston Martin V12 Vantage S by Q, with manual transmission Chevrolet C150o 454SS - the GMT400 range is my all time fav truck design. And in black, of course Chev Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss - never should have sold this. I want another. Eatheroamer XV-HD - because I want to take my hotel with me everywhere.
