  1. Awesome build! If this is the direction model building is headed, I’m light years behind. Keep up the good work and take this hobby to the next level.
  2. The plexiglass may attract dust with the static electricity created. Painted plywood may be better
  3. Looking at the exhaust, I was thinking “cut-outs” , but that’s it in its entirety. Stellar build!
  4. Went to my somewhat local store today. Police cars, snap kits and Undertaker dragsters. Nothing came home. Guess I’m too late for the AWB Nova.
  5. The difficulty getting the wheels into the tires is an issue created by the manufactures of the new kits. Who in their infinite wisdom thought that this is a good idea? What was wrong with the two piece wheels? I recently built the Moebius Nova SS with this type of wheel and managed to scrape up the tire sidewalls.
  6. Don’t want to derail this thread but I feel its relevant. When annealing the brass, do you do the entire length or just at the bend? When bending is a mandrel needed? Does something need to be inside the tube to keep it from collapsing? Is the brass like the KBS stuff from the hobby shop or Ace hardware? Thanks in advance.
  7. First drag race was at Capitol Raceway in Maryland. Early ‘70’s. My dad took my brother and I just to see the races. What we saw was the “King of Kings” match races. Don Schumacher, Jim Lieberman, Roland Leong and all of the drivers I had read about in Hot Rod magazine. I thought they were there every weekend after that. Later in life I’ve been to Englishtown, Reading, and Indianapolis since.
  8. He had stomach cancer. Not only a great entertainer but more importantly a patriot and fan of our military folks. Will be missed.
  9. Looking good. We are watching. Can I suggest to build a stand of some sort to hold the hull up off the ground. Mine was built out of cheap 1/2” pvc tubing. Works with the boat upside down too. Attached a pic for reference.
  10. My LHS has the Nissan Terrano kit in stock. What is a reasonable price for this kit? I don’t need it but at some point would like to try some other kit manufacture then AMT, MPC etc.
  11. For me it’s the 1967 Chevy truck. I’d like to see it with the full detail chassis and bench seat interior.
  12. 25 years ago my mom wanted to clean the attic and basement (model room) in my childhood home. It took 3 small driveway dumpsters. One half of one dumpster was full of model kits built and not as well as boxes of parts and supplies. My brother and I kept a few of our built kits but everything else went to the dump. Got back into building about 5 years ago and had to start over. Should could use that spare parts box now.
  13. Looks great. Will this be a replica build or go with another paint scheme?
  14. I have the wheels that are shown above in the Nova kit if your interested.
  15. Definitely subject. I like pickup trucks and Jeeps. Last, almost completed build was the Moebius Nova SS because I wanted to try my hand at a red interior. Two trucks in process now but stalled. Working on a Dumas wooden boat kit now. Yes I have a bit of the squirrel thing going on.
  16. The engine out of the Monogram Jeep CJ7 is a small block AMC. Could be passed off as a 401.
  17. My favorite year Chevy truck. Love what your doing with the modifications.
  18. Looking good. Your hard work will pay off when the paint goes on. I’ve headed down the rabbit hole again. Received the Chris Craft painted racer for Christmas. Hull framing done and the planking going on. Haven’t decided if I will start a build thread here.
  19. One of the manufactures offer a color “cement”. Now cars can look like a brick and can be the same color.
  20. One of the more obscure subjects that I’ve seen on this forum. It appears you have a working knowledge of these types of machines. Well done, the details are realistic. I can picture a dump truck backed up to that thing dumping the nasty black stuff into the hopper.
  21. I’ve had the same issue with the paint running off the high spots. The cause was not an air brush or paint too thin or primer. Issue was I was in a hurry and tried to get color on in one very heavy coat. Wound up just spraying the parts again the next day in light multiple coats.
