  1. I've neglected to update my topic! We had our car show, didn't get rained on which was much more probable with this year's awesome monsoon season. I worked the water booth, which is very important in AZ, so didn't get around to take lots of pictures, just a quick dash and snap what I really liked. Start off with the clubhouse parking. Think PAAC is unique in having an actual building to hold meetings in, and store the fire truck and school bus (long story, I wasn't involved with). This was the car show, at Watson Lake Park, on Saturday. This month's Cruise Night: I saw this replica Auburn on the road several weeks ago. Just because I had a '48, had to take a picture. One of the first jobs I had in Prescott, someone showed off his freshly restored black 300 to my boss, I never saw one before. Looks good in white too. Fiberglass rod. I like how the MINI Cooper headlights are so popular. Also wanted a picture of the hood hinge, might need the reference. Detail shots.
  2. One of my top favorite bands! Dark Side Of The Moon is still my favorite album (yes I'm bloody old, even though I got cassette tapes). I had recently been starting my Saturdays with favorite music, using YT, though Spotify is a very good alternative if you wish to sign up. I've even sung The Wall at karaoke, switching out "will you call me" with "will you text me." Attended two concerts, this was before the internet, had to go to Phoenix and wait in line to buy tickets. When we were coming back home after the second concert, the radio was playing Breathe, just seconds after "... run, rabbit run ..." we saw a Jackrabbit run across the highway, my friend and I were like "wow man." ? It was much later that I found out Nick Mason is a car nut, and the story with his GTO is interesting. This is still a favorite to chill with:
  3. My favorite aluminum plate is used for printing newspapers. It's been decades since I got some, so don't know if you can still go to a printer and ask to buy a sheet. It's great for bending, easy to drill small holes in. I've tried the flashing, it's thicker, and it will break when bent at 90º, a little harder to drill tiny holes in. I don't like soda/beer can aluminum, it springs back into shape, is too thin for my taste. My two cents.
  4. Carscoops: Unauthorized Red Bull Drift Stunt In Ukraine Has Damaged A UNESCO World Heritage Site Was going to post in the What Irked You Today thread, but thought this deserved "special" attention. For starters, if it wasn't for Red Bull, we wouldn't see crazy people doing amazing things, such as the Red Bull Rampage mountain bike dare devils riding off a cliff in Utah, wing suit base jumping, whatever adrenalin junkies hyped up on sugar water are into. I hate the stuff, and what is with mixing Fireball, so you can stay awake for a Monster (the competition) hangover? Ken Block has inspired many to drive in controlled reckless abandon, no denying the car culture influence. But come on man, laying rubber on a beautiful historic courtyard, this is simply the dumbest thing I have seen for awhile (car related). Red Bull better pay for the cost of sandblasting all that rubber off, that's all I have to say. Everything gets to a point where it's not cool anymore, this is a great example. And don't get me going about rap "music", that's a whole other issue this "boomer" can't stand. /end rant/
  5. I'm just thrilled that my sunset photo with my MINI shows up like this. ? No change here.
  6. Suburb build! Nice choice of colors too. Just needs realistic license plates to complete the realism.
  7. Think is my first post here. Mercedes Benz C-111, made in Spain. Paid way more than it's worth, but it's nice to have one on the shelf. Thought I would use as reference for a project that I have in mind, it makes that plastic kit look even more horrible.
  8. Came out really nice! I have a couple of such projects.....
  9. I've never been impressed with Gunze kits in general, but when it's a subject you like, things can be overlooked. The wheels have 14 holes, the real car 12, how could Gunze be so far off? You did a fine job on it, and the best part IT'S BUILT!
  10. Another Singer, this ran at Goodwood (bucket list that will never happen). I'm blown away at the design and execution of these cars.
  11. I should have known more about Neal. Rush is tied for favorite band of mine, with Pink Floyd, whose drummer also happens to be a car nut. He had very good taste. RIP
  12. Sweet ricer (I own a Honda so can use that term with affection). Where did the [HOONIGAN] decal come from?
  13. Sweet! Tell us what the paint is. Can't miss with those kits.
  14. I see inconsiderate dog owners dumping is today's topic. I still have wire tomato cages at the side of the street by my mailbox, so that has stopped the dumps. I've seen the occasional poop bags along popular trails, I assume the people will pick up on the return back. I've heard that dogs hate moth balls. Do people in your town put their dogs in shopping carts at the store?
  15. I like how you took so many quality pictures of the kit, before commencing the build. Great start on the engine with the detail.
  16. ⬆️ I'm digging that! Stole off Fakebook:
  17. One of the few Hot Wheels I got as an adult.
