I like the stance. Thatβs the best looking car that AMC came out with in my opinion.π

I got the steering gear connected and a side mirror installed, so this one is pretty much done. I just need to install the door handles, a license plate and a couple of paint touch ups.

MicroMark has one that I think is similar to mine on the left. The spring broke on it so I bought the cheap one on the right from Amazon. I didnβt like the chuck on it so I wound up swapping the spring over to my old one.

How to make door arm rests

Hereβs a quick and dirty scratch build using some .080β half round and some .030β strip. Might be good enough for a street rod? Flattening the topside could be an improvement. -
Iβve had a hard time getting my micro drill to grip a #80 drill bit, and Iβve had to use a pair of pliers to loosen the collet at times. So I gave it a good cleaning by dipping it in lacquer thinner. I was amazed how much black junk came off. I used some sandpaper to clean and de-burr the slots. After another dip in thinner, I very lightly oiled the threads with some clipper oil. I put a bit of oil on the outside of the jaws too where the outer collet? contacts them. Use a very small amount of oil, as you donβt want it creeping to the inner drill bit gripping area. It operates a lot smoother now.π

From the knowledge that Iβve gleaned from this site I know that butt joints are far sturdier if they are pinned.

Beautiful! Makes me want to crack open another kit!π₯΄ -
If 1/25 is close enough, Revellβs β32 Ford 5 Window Coupe 2βn1 kit is a nice easy build with a lot of options. The Revell β49 Merc is also nice and practically falls together.
