Dr. Krook Patient Pending custom show rod.
NOBLNG replied to Silvercreeker's topic in WIP: Model Cars
This is a really cool project Scott. I like to see these old kits built rather than being relegated to a shelf somewhere. I believe improvements and upgrades are fine or even necessary for some kits.๐๐ -
That turned out fantastic David!๐ I will definitely be referring back to your build thread when I get around to building mine. Thanks for posting your efforts.๐

This is exactly the same process as the easy radiator cap idea. Only this time I used tamiya thin cement to โweldโ a 0.16โ wide strip of 0.040โ Evergreen to a piece of 0.080โ rod. Slice off a sliver and Voila! Add a tiny stub of 0.040โ or 0.060โ for a window crank. https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/198003-easy-radiator-cap/#comment-2997190 Itโs definitely better than what some kits are equipped with.๐ฅด

Yes, this is coming along very nicely! I agree the colors look great!๐ Reminds me of my โ30 Packard.๐ -
Again Lenny comes up with a clever rhyme.๐

How many models are you working on at one time?
NOBLNG replied to rossfox's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
2,3,4โฆit depends. I have a whole bunch started, but usually only 2 or 3 active builds going on at once. -
Hi Jim! Glad to see you backโฆI was getting worried about you.๐ That is looking really nice! Iโve never seen a model that the Tamiya maroon doesnโt look good on. Iโve made a few simple sanding sticks that might work for you. The top left one I made to reach in through the windows to sand ejection marks off the headliners.

If youโre not in a hurry to sell itโฆ.Iโd call it a well maintained collectible classic. That may scare off low-ballers and tire kickers.

Great ambition here. It will be interesting to see how it goes.๐๐

Black with some very fine purple webbing could work if you want to stick with the spider motif?

And I managed to get the new box rails and tailgate cap attached with CA. To hide the splices I filed a small groove and โweldedโ in some 0.060โ half round with Tamiya extra thin cement.- 141 replies

Since there will be no access from above, I needed to delete the spare tire well. Actually , I am deleting the spare tire entirely. This provides an opportunity to install a larger fuel tank. I narrowed the one from the Polar Lights GTO to fit.- 141 replies

I donโt believe there is one which is surprising considering how popular they are. Here is a thread with a bit of info on a similar subject. Unfortunately the OPโs pics have all disappeared. https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/162108-jeep-wrangler-rubicon-4-door-4-x-4/ This Meng kit would likely be the best starting point to make a 4 door out of? scalemates has the instructions for the Meng kit. https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/3/5/8/1101358-74-instructions.pdf
