Got my parts from B-N-L Resins. Started tackling the engine for this project. It is basically a Dagwood sandwich. Resin 3-butterfly Pro Mod scoop. Resin adapter to the top of the blower. Resin 10-71 blower with end caps. Styrene parts box blower base #1. Resin 8-port intake. Styrene parts box blower base #2. Styrene parts box Big-block Chevy. Resin deep-sump Milodon oil pan. The blower drive is from an ebay purchase of some larger scale blower motor. It comes with a rubber/vinyl Gilmore drive belt. I also had to fab some valve cover spacers to help the blower base #2 not protrude higher than the heads. I will have to notch the cowl a little bit for the blower (no big deal). The top of the scoop is slightly higher than the roof (which was what I was hoping for).

I have 15 built models with RWL tires done with Gelly Roll ink. I have had zero adhesion problems. Some of them are over 14 years old.

Well done sir!

I love your technique on fabricating the roll cage. The holes in the tub for adjustments is genius!. Regarding the pick up truck look of your cage. Many 1:1 cages rear down bars pass through the rear package tray on their way to the inner wheel tubs. You may wish to consider changing them.

It was the Baldwin kit. I love the hood and spoilers. The stripe package... not so much.

Nice build. What kit did you start with?

Very nice Jag. Does anyone know what year it represents? My stepmom had a light green 71 with the V12.

LEDs or Fiber Optics?
Bills72sj replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
LEDs will give you more flexibility and diffusion of light than fiber optic cables. It will require some fine wiring, but if you can solder you will be fine. Unless you want a power supply attached, shoot for operating them on a 9V battery. It has enough voltage to power 2-3 LEDs in series (depending on forward voltage requirements) and multiples of that in parallel. It is also easier to package into a model. I use LEDs rated for 20mA. You can add resistors that can bring the brightness down by limiting the current. LEDs also come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Domed and rectangular will probably be your two most useful shapes. Stay away from SMDs (surface mount devices). Here is a link to Newark an electronics supplier. https://www.newark.com/w/c/optoelectronics-displays/led-products/standard-single-color-leds-under-75ma?led-mounting=through-hole&forward-current-if=20ma&st=leds PM me if you need more assistance. -

Gorgeous! My one attempt at Plum Crazy Purple turned out too dark. (Too many coats)

I am all about shiny and new and modified. But if ran across that 56 and 57 I would have left them in barn find condition. However, they belong to you so have at it. Please share when you are done.

Foose 56 Ford pick up

I like what you did to the wheel spokes. -
Pretty cool build. FYI your tire installer mounted the left rear tire on the rim the incorrect direction.
