  1. That’s awesome! Very nice replica of your friends truck. You should definitely enter that in the replica category for DSCV 17. Cheers, Steve
  2. Hi Gil, beautiful Mustang indeed. Very crisp, clean build. Cheers, Steve
  3. That’s awesome! Patina on the paint is excellent, and that seat cover is perfect!
  4. Hi Sam, I have a plan, hoping to have it back in one piece this weekend. Cheers, Steve
  5. What a tease !! It was just getting interesting ! Awesome stance, and for what it’s worth, those wheels look great. I look forward to seeing this come together. Cheers, Steve
  6. Hi Bob, nice to see you diving right in to another project! Looks good so far. Another idea for exhaust tips, I always use polished aluminium tubing to simulate stainless exhaust tips. They can slide over the ends of the kit exhaust. Drilling out the ends as you have looks great, this is just another idea to consider. Cheers, Steve
  7. Looks awesome Tim, could you share the interior colours with us? I like that combo, especially the darker colour. I agree with the others, the semi gloss on the wheels is just right. Cheers, Steve
  8. Hi all, started into the interior work. I took a handful of measurements then started cutting... This actually might be a bit easier than I thought it would be. Cut off rear package shelf from Foose kit, removed cargo area from the resin kit. The plan is to use the two-door interior bits and add the cargo area to it. The rear cargo area is too wide to fit between the rear fender wells, so.... remove rear panel Then cut lengthwise, and remove a strip from the centre... Well, the cutting part is easy.... more soon. Cheers, Steve
  9. Thanks Roy, I’m glad I committed to the 2 door. Sedan delivery would definitely be cool, I might try that with recent 63 wagon release. Hi David, ya, it worked quite well and was easy to cut and shape. As you probably read above, others are using styrene as a guide which definitely would work well also. Hi Phil! Thanks for the vote of confidence sir. Looking forward to the next zoom meeting. Thanks Gerald, it will be a bit of a slow start, but hopefully I can get some momentum soon. Cheers, Steve
  10. Hello Francis, I very much appreciate your support sir. This one should be a bit easier than the Olds... Two door hard top is definitely a better fit for build. This is only my third resin build, still learning how to work with it. It’s not really harder to work with just different... Cheers, Steve
  11. Thanks Dave. I know that I would have made a mess if I just used tape.
  12. Hmmmmm. You guys are definitely correct. This again is something that I would not have noticed. I need to pay more attention to details! At any rate, with this being a custom, not a replica, I’m not sure if I will address it. I will do a mock up with bumpers to make sure it has reasonable “flow” and that it doesn’t look too weird. I love the input, it’s very helpful and informative!! Cheers, Steve
  13. Thank you for the kind words Matthijs. I glad you like it, it would have looked great in 1:1. Cheers, Steve
  14. Snake, you’re a saviour! You really are the king of rescues. I’ve always had the thought of leaving my old (not so great) builds as is to show how my skills have improved. There are several on the shelf that you have me thinking I should strip, and bring new life to... Well done
  15. Hi Ron, thank you sir. I must admit, the amount of BMF on this build surprised me a bit. There’s a lot! Cheers, Steve
  16. Hi folks, thought I would post a small update. I’m still in planning mode, but had some actual building time today. No turning back now, it’s a 2 door hard top!! This is my first time creating new panel lines. I have cut open trunks, and deepened existing lines, but not added new ones. I knew I wanted a decent edge to trim against, not just tape. I’m not sure how others would do this, but here is my approach. Used tape to copy outline of the Foose 2 door back edge Placed that on some sheet aluminum to make a template bent it to approximate shape of door measured where back edge of door should be, then taped it in place and scribed the new door line It worked pretty good! I then did the mirror image on the other side, I darkened the line here so it is more visible. Next was removing the B pillar I now have a 2 door hard top! I was worried that the distance between the windshield and C pillar would be too large looking, but I actually think it looks really good. A couple of rounds of fill sand prime should take care of the old door lines, and removing the door handles. Lots of work to do on the interior, hoping to have a somewhat logical plan on how to attack that in the next day or 2. Obviously I will now be using most of the Foose interior pieces, just need to meld it all together. More on that later... If anyone has a different approach on scribing new door lines, please share. I have at least 2 more future projects that will require scribing new lines. Thanks for having a look. Cheers, Steve
  17. Thanks Chaz, I am getting caught up in “wagon fever”. There are quite a few wagons being built and I had to join in! Cheers, Steve
  18. Hi Chris, this is a perfect example of your build vision. Wheel choice is spot on for that era. One of my best friends dad had a Ford with turbine wheels just like that. Well executed! Some turbines had a grey colour between the “spokes”, some were polished as I recall. Cheers, Steve
  19. Hi Dennis! Thanks for the kind words. Most of all, thank you very much for sharing your cast aluminum colour “recipe”. The carbs on this engine is the first time I used it... super pleased with the result. Loving the Boyd tribute thread. Cheers, Steve
  20. That literally is exactly what I was thinking. Love the colour, but yellow... not seeing that
  21. Awesome looking wagon. I like the detail paint on the wheels. Nice clean build. Cheers, Steve
  22. Thank you very much John. I pushed myself a bit on this one and it turned out pretty good. It was good practice for a build I have planned in the fall.
  23. Hi Bob, Not sure what size your 1:1 truck wheels are, but Pegasus also makes the same wheels you bought in 23”. Not sure if that is any help. The truck is coming along well, very nice effort for a first build in 50 years! Cheers, Steve
  24. Hi Scott, just stumbled on this thread. How about WOW!! Beautiful craftsmanship here sir. Cheers, Steve
