  1. Excellent model building, Joe. Nice detailing and very clean. That Cammer looks ready to go. Overall seriously cool look. Love it!
  2. It's coming along Kurt, despite your struggles. That primer seems a real nuisance, especially as concerns the rivets. Stick with it, man. It's going to be cool.
  3. Very interesting. Never heard of this one, but I was quite curious due to those very pleasing lines. I never would have guessed this as French.
  4. Sweet little Porsche. Lovely paint work. Very nice!
  5. I have the old MSC polishing kit I purchased from LMG Enterprises in the early 90s. Here’s the instruction sheet for that kit.
  6. Just to add to the info in this thread, the Petty Charger kit pictured here DOES have all of the red on the decal sheet.
  7. Super sweet 442, Jr. very clean, and those colours just pop. Well done!
  8. I’ve had a couple of the MPC Petty ‘74 Chargers over the years, both moulded in light/medium blue body & engine with black chassis parts. All of the red was decal
  9. Wow! Excellent model building and great subjects. It's an awesome combination heavy machinery. Love it.
  10. Looks great. Nice stance, though I agree a tad lower in the front would look pretty tasty. The rear wheels are sweet in those wheel well. The bare chassis shot is a thing of beauty. Rock on.
  11. That method is one of the best. For stubborn distortion or bends, follow up the hot water with a dunk in cold water while holding the part/assembly in the corrected position, to lock in the correction.
  12. Definitely a marathon build. It’s coming along nicely. Thanks again for the great tips.
  13. The Ferrari BB512 still exists as my oldest surviving build. It also holds the distinction of being the first model at which I pointed an airbrush. By them I had already built the Countach and the Ferrari Rainbow, and was disappointed at having wasted my very precious allowance on such basic kits. The BB512 was a Christmas gift, and having already been burnt on the MPC sports cars, it became my airbrush guinnie pig. It was also when I learned red plastic bleeds through white paint.
  14. This may be the nicest build I have seen of that series of MPC sports cars. Well done. I built a few of them in the 70s, but didn't do this one.
  15. I’m glad to see one of these being built. I have one as well and been wondering how well it goes together. Yours is coming along nicely. Cheers for the tips.
  16. Sweet looking mill, Mr Raisin. Excellent detailing. Nailed it.
  17. I’ve bought kits for less.
  18. That GT-40 window is a toughie. I once had a similar scenario, and I mixed up a 50/50 mix of Elmers glue and Tamiya black acrylic paint to make a black windscreen sealant. I applied it sparingly all around, set the glass in place firmly, and carefully wiped away the displaced 'sealant' with a damp cloth or tissue. It worked well. However, as seen in your reference photo, the GT-40 has no sealant or gasket at all. My first thought was as Peteski suggested. Carefully drill holes through the glass and frame and use a fine wire (I like guitar string) to hold the glass in place while representing the screws of the 1:1. This will require a small bit, maybe 1/64 or #78 or so. As mentioned above, small drill bits is no place to scrimp on money, and good ones are expensive. I buy them in packs of ten from industrial suppliers. Cheap ones are not worth having, and that's not just being pedantic. They will ruin a delicate drilling job, and this one would be a delicate drilling job. Get a good comfortable pin vise, too. Don't try melting holes through with a hot wire, etc. The hole size will be difficult to control, as will it's exact location. It will also create a bead of displaced material around the hole that will need to be removed. It would be very difficult, if not impossible, to do it neatly this way.
  19. Well, getting them from the same kit should be doable, as any car with IRS will also have IFS. I suspect the new Revell E-Type will have a pretty sweet IRS. Having said that, It's a pretty broad request. There are many types of independent suspension styles, some suitable for specific purposes only. Some indication of the application would be helpful.
  20. What a lovely Porsche. It looks wicked mean. Gorgeous paint. Love it.
  21. Has anyone in Canada got their issue yet? I realise covid slows down the shipment of some things. Just wondering if these magazines are trickling across the border yet.
