  1. Hang tight. A high quality, resin 1/24 Baja Bug may be available within the year...
  2. I've been looking for that! Michael's used to carry it, but dropped it from their line about a year ago. Yes, it's like thick Elmers white glue. I love it. Creates a very strong, yet slightly flexible bond. Dries clear and water clean-up while you're applying it. Even bonds painted parts. Drying time is about 10 minutes, Full cure is 12 hours. I've assembled numerous vintage, Revell, fiddly Model T & Model A front suspensions with it and they stay together, with just enough give to avoid snapping. One drop will hold a side mirror on a car.
  3. Nice work. Proportions look good. I love the hood/grille.
  4. I'm in for a junior stocker if it has the "Matty's Speed Shop" decals.
  5. NICE!! After seeing this build, I went out and bought two of this kit. I hope mine turn out as cool...
  6. Good! I would love to zone out on the 30 minute commute and read, work on a model car, something. I like to drive, don't get me wrong. But that slow line of cars into and out of work everyday is a bit mind numbing.
  7. Beautiful! All three!
  8. The e-mail response you cite, along with Frank's face-to-face experience at NNL East are what bother me the most. There are better responses than seemingly ignoring people's questions. "We were made aware of the problem too far into the kit's development." "We cannot change the kit tooling for the second release, it's cost-prohibitive." "We will be keeping a closer eye on body proportions with future kit releases." All of these are better than the head-in-the-sand company line of "there's nothing wrong with the kit" or "we don't take into account complaints from internet forums" (read: the lunatic fringe). That doesn't instill me with confidence going forward. Just my $0.02.
  9. Marcos Cruz! I walked in to NNL East, saw that build, immediately walked into the vendor room and bought a Revell Cuda kit. it wasn't even on my radar, but when I saw that awesome build I was sold. I like the Cuda kit.
  10. UPC barcode on all newer boxes. Vintage stuff has no bar codes.
  11. I went to NNL East wanting to buy one kit and came home with five. When I bought the fifth one, the guy said "Enjoy the Vette." I thought "What a concept - that I will build and enjoy it, rather than throw it on a stash pile when I get home." Another guy said a similar thing two years ago, and the kit he sold me is still unbuilt. So, I am going to attempt to build all five of my purchases and display them at next year's NNL East. Here's to building what we buy! Look for these builds from me in the coming 12 months: '70 1/2 Baldwin-Motion Camaro (Round2) '70 Cuda (Revell) '69 Baldwin-Motion Corvette (Revell) BMW Dixi (Heller) Morris Mini Cooper (Tamiya)
  12. My '64 F100 w/ 292 & 4-speed has the Dana rear under it. Factory installed in San Jose.
  13. Thanks to the entire Tri-State crew for another GREAT show! So many top quality, inspiring builds on the tables - my head is swimming with ideas. Got to meet a couple of board members for the first time too, and see many old friends. If you've never been to NNL East, add it to your bucket list. It's THAT great.
  14. I was talking to Dave & Art about these. Dave has to build the second test shots (the two displayed at NNLE are the first) and make sure he approves of the kit. Then it's time to talk box art & packaging. I'd guess late summer.
  15. Nice looking car & a beautiful build!
  16. Beautiful build, Bob! Very cool.
  17. I ordered from HobbyEasy in Hong Kong. $43 kit + $21 S/H and I had it in 8 days - HK to NY. Recommended! That said, they'll be all over the place domestically by mid-June, probably for $60 - $70, shipped.
  18. I'll be there! If I see you Charlie, I'll say hello.
  19. Most of my kits! But when I try to go and sell them, I think "Nah, this is cool. I want to build this one." Oh well, they're fun to look at and dream and plan!
  20. Way cool. Leave the tank off.
  21. Got mine on Monday. Thought I saw some flash on the bottom of the bed sides... it's stamping detail like on the 1:1. Amazing. Such a nice kit! Can't wait to get started on it... Jonathan, your's is looking good. I've seen a bunch of 1:1s online in white that I like. Are you doing the beltline/wheel arches in another color (tan, gray)?
  22. When I was young the automotive posters on my walls were Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Corvettes, monster trucks, etc. Kids go for the high-end, big visual impact, sporty stuff. The Raptor is Ford's SVT pickup. Makes sense to me. There's one often parked out front when I leave work each night. Black. Cool looking truck.
  23. Very nice diorama. A joy to look at. Superb details & weathering.
