  1. Fiatboy, the Royals engine was 775 cubic inches and developed 300 bp with normal aspiration. How about fitting dual overhead cams and supercharging it? If you are not going to use the Royals engine, I would be interested in it.
  2. Michelle, your imagination and creativity know no bounds! Model on!
  3. I have a Burago Bugatti T57SC Atlantic- good overall model, but the wire wheels and tires need to be replaced. The wheels need to be a larger diameter and the tires need to be narrower and slightly taller. Has anyone done this upgrade and if so, what have you used?
  4. This looks interesting- I like the particular color you chose. I use flat paint for leather which I then rub with a soft cloth for a slight sheen. It would be interesting too to see if clear gloss would work on it.
  5. Armature wire for electric motors is great for return springs and other fine wiring.
  6. Beautiful job on a great car! This may be the best model Palmer ever did!
  7. Outrageously creative build- but does it have enough power?!?!?
  8. Looking really good! I like the rear fender skirt trim! Personal opinion- lakes pipes along the running boards instead of the dump pipes.
  9. Try soaking the strip in hot water then bending near the shape, then heating again and bending to the final contour.
  10. Very sorry you lost your friend. His great models honor his memory.
  11. I have been going through under glass, starting at the last page, and resurrecting threads of car models I find outstanding.
  12. Creativity rules!
  13. That is one great roadster! The weathered paint is exceptionally well done! The Poncho is pretty cool too.
  14. Thinking of a similar project- keep us posted!
  15. Every thread in this forum is part of our hobbie’s history. I recently resurrected a thread of a magnificent Offy powered roadster because the model was beautifully crafted and I love dual overhead cam engines. Older threads have valuable construction information and just plain great models. I go back through almost all the pages of work in progress and finished models- it’s like a huge model car show I can see from my armchair. Also please note that our magazine is using threads for articles. Moderators, please back up this site and don’t delete anything!
  16. Astounding work! You really had a vision to get this result from what you started with! This car was a great postwar design- clean and smooth and lots of power from that flathead gow job!
  17. I like Bugatti’s, Cobras, Jaguars, post war hot rods- mainly deuce and A roadsters, pre and postwar customs, Millers, Duesenbergs, dual overhead cam engines, the 1953 Studebaker hardtop, 1961-1963 T-birds and Lincoln Continentals, post war Dodge power wagons, wood speed boats, almost anything with outrageous styling. Doug Whyte’s Studebaker custom is a real favorite.
  18. Here’s another one that needs some updates! Also, a few pix reloaded to display unseen wonders!
  19. This thread is so good I’m moving it back up top just because! I bet there are a lot more great A’s out there! BTW, this thread would be great in the magazine (hint hint).
  20. Rediscovered this one scrolling through older builds. Super nice roadster! Unfortunately I can’t seem to bring up the initial pictures of the build start. Any chance you could repost?
  21. Great restoration, especially the trailer details- the boat is maybe the ski drag boat?
  22. Really nice belly tanker! I think the use of war surplus belly tanks was the most ingenious thing hot rodders worked with post war!
  23. Bugatti T57SC Atlantic 1932 Ford roadster hot rod 1953/54 Studebaker hardtop Miller racing cars Jaguar XK120 roadster 1956 Continental MKll 1961 Lincoln Continental convertible 1961/1963 Thunderbird convertible and many more...........
  24. Completed a trade with Paul Alflen and we are both happy- would trade with him anytime.
  25. Traded with Thatz4u and will trade with him anytime- glad to help him with his project!
