American Telephone Booth
Dragline replied to HomerS's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
If you really need one I see a scratchbuilt one in your immediate future. -
Could certainly pass for 1:1 with the right background. Exceptionally well done.

Round 2 purchased by an investment firm
Dragline replied to charger74's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It sounds like a great kick in the pocketbook for Round 2. I wish them well and hope to see things we can only dream of now in the near future. Atlantis is doing great things with what they bought if the list of kits to be released this year is any indication of. The naysayers are unhappy people, let them be so. -
I will extend that warning to any BMW, Porsche, Audi, Fiat...... You get the picture. I have repaired cars that were clearly a problem before the warranty had run out and the local dealers told the owner there was nothing they could do. Outright lies and half truths were normal and in my experience were just part and parcel of the way things work. I had a wonderful relationship with the old guard at the local dealers , [Viti Bro's and Benz of Warwick RI], but when a couple of the old timers left they were replaced with what can only be described as money sharks.

As a Benz mechanic with some 20 odd years repairing them I can tell you that ridding yourself of a vehicle with a warranty about to expire is just plain good advice.

She was so good in American Gods. I was remarking how good she still looked at her age. Which i still don't know.

All those decals and they couldn't put the gauge set on there as well? I think a tiki or two less and some gauge decals would be a better trade.

That came out nice indeed. -
I'll be following this build for sure. What a community we have here. The guy needs pics and just like that BOOM!

I wonder how many children were conceived in these vans. I'd wager there were quite a few.

Something you don't see every day or even year. Well executed. I've seen these raw and they are a little rough so your work shines through.

That looks great Wayne. A very "lively" color scheme I'm not familiar with. -

"Holy Grail" Models?
Dragline replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
These were my grails as well as for many other funny car lovers. I just happened to be in the right place and got the VooDoo 100% unbuilt many years ago, and the Pinto as a 1/2 built as well. The Pinto was probably built by an adult as what is built is well done. I also paid quite a bit for the two engine and chassis kits. Maybe some day I'll get around to building the Pinto. The Vega? I'm holding out hope someone wants to reverse engineer it so I can provide a nice minty example. There are also a few Tom Daniel kits I'd love to see reissued. The Unreal Roller was thought lost to the ages yet Atlantis will be reissuing it later this year so there is hope for the rest. -
Super Dooper! In 24 eh? It's getting reissued by Atlantis. Between this, Groovy Grader and Unreal Roller I'll be happy with Tom Daniels for a while.
