Yes. Goes through the oil pan looks like...

Actually, if you look at pics of the 1:1 engine, there is no chrome...gloss black air cleaner and valve covers, polished aluminum on various parts.

Hobby Shops, then and now
Rob Hall replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I will miss the good local shops here...I went to Hobby Depot in Tempe often over the last 9 years. -
'67 was when the van had a restyled front end, and a V8 became available..the 283. The '64-66 had a 4 cyl and 2 6 cyl engines available. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Van

AMT 68 PLYMOUTH ROADRUNNER KIT TO SUPERBIRD
Rob Hall replied to shoopdog's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No. The AMT 68 Road Runner kit has never had Superbird parts. (The Superbird was a 70). -
The Foose kit represents a customized body....

There was a Chevy van, I believe. I have the Lincoln Mk III, a '71-72 Chevy pickup w/ camper, a '68 Mustang, and the '68 Corvette. I believe there was also a '71 Riviera and '71 Grand Prix, among others.

What did you see on the road today?
Rob Hall replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Makes sense...I think I've seen them in use in farming areas in California and Ohio in the past. -

Agricultural? Some sort of specialized tractor? -
Packing Up

I've been using Pods (filled up 2 16 foot ones, shipped them to Ohio and unpacked them, working on #3 now). I've been ordering my boxes, tape, bubble wrap, etc from Amazon...hard to beat boxes delivered to the door...hired guys for loading and unloading the heavy furniture, but pretty much been my sister and I on everything else.. -
C'mon USPS!
Rob Hall replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I recently bought something on eBay from Tucson, about 90 miles down I-10 from Phoenix. It was shipped via USPS to Rancho Cucamonga, Ca (sorting facility?) and then onto Phoenix... -
Yeah, for street use, they seem like a '70s-80s style thing to me...I remember the 14-15" sizes then, don't remember noticing them in the 90s to present as wheel sizes got larger. I do like them for some model cars, though. The funny thing is in 30+ years of driving, I've never bought a set of aftermarket wheels..only had stock wheels on my 1:1 cars.

Only 18 Percent Of Americans Can Drive Manual. :(
Rob Hall replied to MrObsessive's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
My sister learned to drive in a '68 Cougar w/ a 3spd manual w/ manual brakes and manual steering. She's had many cars w/ manuals over the years--4 Datsun/Nissan Zs from a '78 280Z to a '90 300ZX Turbo, a Saab 900 Turbo and an Acura Legend coupe... I've had five manuals over the years--Ford Escort diesel, Mustang LX, Mustang GT, Bronco II, and a BMW M3...probably will have another fun car w/ a manual eventually, but for a daily driver I prefer my Jeep w/ an automatic..(the 8spd auto in my GC is very smooth). -
Black is definitely not a good color in dry, dusty, hot AZ...but it should be fine once I get it back to Ohio and in my garage. Funny thing, though, there are a lot of black SUVs in the Phoenix area...at the car wash yesterday all the other SUVs I saw were black or white--Acuras, Cadillacs, BMWs, other Jeeps, Mercedes, etc. And in my parking garage at work, seems like they are all black or white..

Washed and waxed my Jeep yesterday...nice and shiny. Metallic black is hard to keep clean, I'm finding out. Today, it gets bird droppings on it and dust and water spray blown on it...argggghh

Shizuoka Hobby Show 2017, Few More Pic's Added.
Rob Hall replied to martinfan5's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Hope they do a Turbo eventually, the flares and backwards graphics on the front air dam. -
Never built one either, but I recall the reviews back when they first came out indicated concern that the stock windshield frame was too thick..

Good stuff...had heard about some of them previously. Looking forward to the Porsche and Volvo, maybe some of the others also. I like Beemax's approach of building race cars as race cars strictly, rather than a compromised approach. -
Ollie's strike again

Went in an Ollies (Cleveland) for the first time yesterday, reminds me of a Big Lots store w/ more stuff. They had a few Lindberg kits but nothing I needed. -
Low 50s here in NE Ohio today..beautiful sunny spring day. Was raining when I flew in from Phoenix last night. Should be done with my move in a few weeks...looking forward to that 2000 mile drive in my new Jeep. Apparently been a lot of rain here lately, got to get a yard service lined up this week.

The goofy box art didn't help any...it probably would have sold better w/ serious box art and show it painted a dark green with a English countryside background..
