A stock new tool 56 would likely have to be a different tool from the custom Foose version, and since Revell has had a stock 56 for 50+ years, a new stock version probably wouldn't sell very well compared to the Foose one.
Looking forward to both. Interesting how the rear doors are a separate insert on the Suburban. Maybe to facilitatw making a tailgate w/ single rear window version?
It's an old Palmer kit originally, like the '72 Challenger and Corvette that Lindberg also reissued. The body is wonky,, like a '69-70 fastback w/ 71 front clip..
I never answer my phone (cell or land line) if I don't recognize the number...let it go to voice mail and call back if it's legit. And I have my cell set up to go to voice mail automatically between 7pm and 7am, no ringing. I have the land line ringer off currently since during this season all the calls are political polls and robocalls.
I got one last week, the only difference from the previous issues that I see are the optional mag wheels. Box art is much better as compared to the awful Lindberg donut boxes. A pair of slicks are included also, presumably left over from the drag version.
The tires do look a bit small... something in bigger diameter/taller would look better. Thinking of getting another one and stripping the paint and doing it some other style, either a stock plain jane sedan or as a beater...
i was thinking the same for mine, but Fireball 1/24th wheels since these are 1/24th diecasts. I was dissapointed by the painted bumpers also, and the front bumper seems undersized to me.
Yes, this is correct about the short wheelbase. '60-66 Suburbans had the 115 inch wheelbase, same as the SWB pickups of that generation. This question was answered in the other thread, IIRC....easily found if you google it. 5th gen Suburban
Meh..too many repeats of recent reissues like the '70 Super Bee, '60 Starliner, '51 Chevy conv...though the 50th anniv. Camaro will be a nice variation.
Got the AMT rebox of the Lindberg '61 Impala along w/ a couple AMT white letter tire sets from Model Roundup today, along w/ an Aoshima Nissan President kit from an eBay seller in Hong Kong.
Reading Bruce Springsteen's autobiography 'Born to Run' now, just finished John Sandford's 'Escape Clause' (a Virgil Flowers Minnesota crime thriller), and just started John Grisham's 'The Whistler'. I try and read an hour or so before going to bed on my Kindle every evening...relaxes my mind.
Looking good..neat build. Mitsubishi used to build some fun cars...had a coworker back around 2002 that had a 3000GT Spyder w/ the folding roof...that was a fun car.
I have a couple MPC Pacers, never had the AMT wagon..thinking about doing one stock and one as a phantom panel wagon w/ no rear seat, steelies, and the side window blanks.
