  1. I like hot rods. I like Ferraris. I don't like this.
  2. It looks like a very likely 70’s aero experiment. Looks cool on paper but too heavy to be competitive. Nice work.
  3. I've used Photodelux......that's an impressive outcome.
  4. I have to agree with Gary, the PL Poncho is often dismissed. Yours turned out quite nicely. Can you tell how you printed the decals? I'm guessing Alps, but if they're some other printer more information would be most appreciated.
  5. This looks so much better detailed than a Monogram version of the kit. Curious questions, do the molds still exist? Have you thought about making a set of detail up parts as resin castings for some of the parts to be added to the Mono kits?
  6. If you'd like to add some interest to the upcoming NASCAR racing season, have you considered playing in a fantasy league? I'm the owner of a FOX fantasy group that is played by other modelers. If you'd like to join the group, go to http://www.foxsports.com/fantasy/auto/ and sign up. After you sign up click on Join Group and search for Randy Ayers' Modeling Forum. The password is glue. Come on and let's race!
  7. This has gotten my interested in building a T engine. I agree the AMT engine is a lump. What a great build up.
  8. My first car was a B......a lot of me would love to have another. Darn simple car and seemingly indestructible unless you're young and foolish. I'll have to look out for a copy or two of this car.
  9. I'd love to see the test shots of the AM NASCAR kit. Curious question, if the test shots were made, how close was the real kit and where are the molds? As for 1320 kits, they did a few, basically unassembled die-casts with a bit lower detail. I still look for 1320 die-casts for my collection. Hard to find but worth it.
  10. What's the detail like in this kit? It seems large scale is much more hit or miss than 1/25th.
  11. I've often wondered if the race sponsorship caused the chain to fail or was the sponsorship a last ditch effort to attract attention to prevent Helig-Myers from failing.
  12. Both Don Prudhomme and Rick Hendrick want you to make them a copy.....what will you do?

    1928 pickup

First comment I had, "I love it!"
  14. I'll end up with one for no other reason but to see if I can adapt the interior to the Bullhorn T. I find that interior bucket one of the kits greatest weaknesses.
  15. Are the wheels different from the Bullhorn T?
  16. Being a big time FWD Mopar fan since they were new, let me throw some insight having owned a couple when new. The L body, GLH (Goes like hot car) was a great little car. One of the best of its era. The Omni's evolved into the Shelby Charger. With the TI motor it was equal to many V-8 cars that had become bloated barges. The Daytona/Lasers were G bodies. While they may seem derived from K cars (a platform large enough to be a four or five seat passenger car, unlike the L Body which was a two plus small children car, few suspension parts were shared. The G bodies were first offered with a similar TI motor but were offered with TIIs in the 1987 model year with a very nice Gretag five speed. With just a little work (mercy those cars loved a 2.5 or 2.75 inch exhaust), those cars could haul. Several state police departments had unmarked versions for highway patrol. They were the fastest American cars sold in 1987-88. The years just prior to that the fastest American car was a big block pick up truck. The Daytonas were a very nice car, equal to a nice Trans Am or Camaro but with the ability to average 80 on the freeway at 30mph. This was in 1987! On a side note, I remember racing a Viper in my warmed over Laser (exhaust, larger injectors, large intercooler and the like) up to 100. Had a blast. At 100, the Viper driver waved and I watched his tailights. I'd love to have another Shelby Daytona or Laser XT with a five speed.
  17. The Revell chassis under either the MPC or Johan kit gives you a much better chassis. The problem is trying to adapt the interior. I tried it but never got the interior where I thought it was right.
  18. This build disproves the old adage, "You can't make a silk purse froma sow's ear." Very nice.
  19. I wonder how good the Garlits decals will be?
  20. Sorta like a rolling demo derby. I wonder how angry the drivers get with each other?
  21. Still sweet. I'm glad you couldn't get the wood grips right. Proves you're mortal......a much more skilled mortal than I'll ever be, but still, maybe, mortal. This is KILLER!
  22. I just stumbled upon this build......I keep on being amazed by the skills of some of the members here. The fabrication skill here is outstanding.
  23. I can't believe how good it looks for its age. I've started to question how well models hold up being displayed after building, based upon this example, I really have very little to be concerned with.
  24. What a beautiful survivor!
