1969 Dodge “Country Charger” R/T by round2
Dave Van replied to Nick Notarangelo's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Correct.......The Model King kits that were re-tooled came under RC2 ownership and not the current Round2 owners. R2 no longer allows private issues.....just have a different marketing plan. Dave Burket restored a bunch of kits.....and R2 is benefiting today from those. I am NOT slamming R2....we still have some input with them....but I do wish we could go back to the private issues. -
AMT 1132 -- 1/25 Double Header Tandem Van Trailers I'll take two of these.....I like the short trailers.....

THANKS all!

Nice clean build AFX........I too like that kit.....

Been there....done that. Next listing he took the copies of my decals, cut them, rearranged them and said they were his now. ebay seemed to go with that.
-
That ebay seller, they changed their name about 1-2 years ago, is the biggest decal copier on the earth. They ordered most of my decals, one each of what I made, but by magic are able to resell multiples of said decals. Only issue is they don't do the white 99% of the time. (I didn't know who they were at the time) Sorry to say but welcome to the club!!!

Between new grandkid, a wedding and a few other family things I didn't build a lot this year. Add to it finishing up my 66 Mustang project (including a court case) my time was limited/ Thanks for looking.... Dirty Mary Charger........ I built this as a more accurate Dirty Mary car. I had built one YEARS ago with the Dukes Charger that had the 500/Daytona backlight. This is the AMT new tool snapper with custom paint and Penngwen Hobbies decals. AMT Model King 59 Imperial. At long last I built this MK kit. It's inspired by the Sin City Imperial which was a four door. Tamiya paint and box stock other than tires....old parts box find. IMC/Testors/Lindberg 24 foot trailer. Built for a diorama I am planning. Box stock with Gofer Racing decals. A non auto model. Revell Halo video game kit made into a 'Aliens' what if model. My own custom decals.

I think that was the attitude of Monogram(Revell) if they did indeed scrap the 'T'....... -

Those at the old Revell always said it was long gone.......they say it was viewed as a fad kit. But you never say never in this biz! -
Revell 1968 Chevy Chevelle SS 396...........My take

Revell 1969 Mustang Boss 302............My take with pics!
Dave Van replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
THANKS!!! I've waited for this one since the old Revell 69 with the flat face. I think the original 69 fastback spawned the Shelby and it's now the 'new' 69 Boss. -
Revell 1968 Chevy Chevelle SS 396...........My take
Dave Van replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
As a 1/1 owner....you should know....... The AMT 69 side window shape SEEMS better to me. Is it the AMT is wrong but we have had it forever??? Or is it better?? Or am I just seeing through worn out eyes??? Thx -
I don't see as many as I did before so many Hollywood types started telling me I was an idiot. I vote with $$$$. Tom crossed the line when he claimed what my wife and daughter do for people is all a fraud. I know 100% better than that. IMHO!!!
-
It's not Tom's 'acting' that is the issue. Ask any teacher or health professional what issue they have with Tom and you will get a ear full. My daughter is a child development specialist and wife a ER RN.....they both told me about it.

That's a Christmas gift....now I can see the next movie!

Decal fluids, yes or no.....
Dave Van replied to SCRWDRVR's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Solvaset here.......... Walthers hobby kinda invented aftermarket decals back in the 1930's for the model railroad guys. They also invented Solvaset. It's the only thing I use and use it almost every decal. When I apply a decal I put a few drops of water where the decal will go and a tiny drop of Solvaset. This really help keep air out from under the decal. If it needs more I apply it with a brush. Solvaset is HOT so use it as little as possible to get the decal to conform. It will sometimes wrinkle too....leave it alone.....it will pull back out. -
Nice work!!!! A pretty car that may have never lead a lap.

77 Trans Am is a GREAT seller to Moms, Grandmas and folks that just need to buy a gift model but know nothing but that 'Smokey' movie. Big chain store buyers even ask for them. So I can't fault R2 for doing what's asked for. BUT....anything else from the era (like the coming Pinto) is much more welcome among the lunatic fringe that hangs here!!!

Any up dates on the Moebius chevy II gasser ?
Dave Van replied to Mr mopar's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
They CAN transfer to new owners. Depends on how they are written. I did NASCAR licensing for 10 years.....out of a 100 license deals there was 100 different contracts.....each with it's own rules. As I said in a previous post....things are in a flux right now. MOST of it not in public view. I do not know but HOPE it sorts out in a positive way that keeps automotive kits flowing. I helped out on a number of auto kits with the old Moebius.....I hope those still come about. -

It's all in flux......change...the only constant.
