VERY realistic!!! Back in the 1980's a buddy and I would hunt on old Carolina farms for 30's era cars and parts. Yours looks much like what we would find. We found an intact 1930 Fordor sedan that had been cut behind the drivers door......wood flooring was reused for a cab back and and bed was made from old wood.....

Martin Truex- NASCAR Champion
Dave Van replied to mikemodeler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Chase Elliott did not have a single win.....Matt had one so in this 'Chase' world he had a better season. Think HMS had issues getting sponsorship together for Chase and his HUGE salary??? Chase is at HMS because of the money.......otherwise he'd been in the #21 this year. So the money is out there......for the right young driver. (add fan support and he is a sponsor dream) that all contributes to the current state of NASCAR. -

I agree 100%it's a money issue......... But why is it a money issue???? Sponsors are willing to put up enough money for the right driver!!!!! But I insist that no sponsor was willing to fund Matt for various reasons, record and age among them. I have no ill will toward Matt.....that's long gone. But I still have lots of contacts in NASCAR and that's the going story from MY contacts. To each his own!!! Thanks -

His on track record, or lack of it this year, DOES have everything to do with it....and he is 'OLD'......Take Matt, add Truex wins, and DE Jr popularity and you get much more than $8M.....IMHO only....... -

Matt made his own bed....now he has to face it. I was a MK fan at one time. When he changed the entire 'Chase' race by acting like a torpedo at Martinsville and killing Lagano's chances and almost his life...I stopped pulling. It was a move beneath a man of his talent. (I was there BTW in turn 2) Making this choice Matt became a poison pill as such. A good friend worked for Dollar General at the time and they got more communication about what Matt did than any 10 things before. People swore off DG and they felt it.....word got around.....between his age and the fear he might do it again sponsors didn't want him. I will admit he has said it was a dumb thing and I think he has taken ownership of the incident......but to late now. -

Chassis and body by JGR, engines by TRD (same as Gibbs) pit crew and tech team provided by JGR.....but yes.....very independent. Sorry I saw this coming after Toyota did little in the first part of the season. Then made noise like they would leave NASCAR Cup.....got a Toyota only aero change at Talledega.....started winning. Mark my word....2019 we get a new make in Cup (MB)) and Toyota does like Dodge did years ago.....then leave. After working in NASCAR for over 20 years it is ENTERTAINMENT not a sport.....know that and enjoy what it is. Just sayin.... -
I held a GoodYear license at one time. I can't disclose the details but it was a reasonable deal. We made GoodYear dry transfers for NASCAR and other types model tires. That license went well for years......everyone playing nice. Then those in charge at GoodYear changed and licensing went from trademark protection and legal liability protection to a 'Profit Center'. For us the license fee went way up and was one reason we shut down. Draw your own conclusion from my story.....but as I was doing some freelance work for Revell at the time....I know what happened......

I've built all the RM 1/48 bombers. Yours look GREAT! I built the B-24 when it came out many moons ago. It was a favorite of mine....then my cat jumped on it and the wings folded up just like the real plane!!! Here is a 1970's era photo of it before..... -
WOW....I really like that! And the use of a kit not normally thought of is great!

Here is the building....it goes down a level or two from street level....inside ia a HUGE elevator that moved Packards floor to floor.......the SMART I bought there didn't take up a quarter of it!!!!
-
I really like your building. Reminds me of Bobby Rahal MB in Pittsburg Pa.....a multi story auto dealer that was a Packard dealer once.
