  3. ? It's a busy Saturday night on "The Strip" and you've captured all of it in a diorama! There is a tremendous amount of work there, all of it exceedingly well done. David G.
  4. Great work on the shop. I love the hand lettering on the sign, it gives the place a small-town feel. The parking lot is a bit busy though. David G.
  5. I remember some of the difficulties you encountered with this one. The end results are well worth the effort. David G.
  6. I love all the little touches and details you added. There seems to be a story told no matter where you look. Superlatives abound, Well Done! David G.
  7. Very Cool! Many, many years ago, I had this one and the Praying Mantis. I don't think I did much more than glue them together. It's nice to see one built as intended, great job! David G.
  8. Looks like it's ready for biz-ness! David G.
  9. Thank you for your comment Bob, I appreciate it. What's wrong with the windshield frame? I thought it was decent enough. David G.
  10. Beautifully Done! It's great to see one of these come together. I'm sure that over the years, there have been many of these started but few finished. David G.
  11. Great color choice. Beautiful work blending all those mods together. It looks like it was cast that way. David G.
  12. Looks great Gareth! Your detail painting really adds interest to an otherwise lackluster kit. David G.

  20. Thanks David, knowing your level and quality of work, that means a lot to me. The way AMT chose to divide the mold does create a challenge and is a prime example of the age-old conflict between designers and engineers. Every design feature on the car draws the eye to the front end as the main design feature. To the automotive designer, it's like the prow of a ship with angel wings. The kit engineer sees it as a great place to split the mold. I think leaving the front apron in tact and dividing the mold by casting the front fenders separately would have been a better choice. But I'm a funeral director not a model kit engineer. Thanks again, David G.
  21. Hi Rick and Mike. I don't use clear coat often but the last few times I did, I did use Novus #1 Plastic Clean & Shine solution prior to doing so and the results were great. I have also used it many times between coats of paint when sanding out or repairing imperfections. The main reason I tried it in the first place was due to static electricity and water scale. Where I live our tap water has a high mineral content such that letting plastic parts air dry after washing them frequently leaves rather stubborn water spots and washing with distilled water just isn't practical. I found that Novus Clean & Shine was great at removing the water spots and really cut down on dust attraction. It looks like I may have to review and revise. My reason for buffing before the clear coat is to smooth the surface as much as possible before the final coat, whether it's a clear or color coat. Once the paint cures, I buff it for a final time. Regards, David G.
  22. Thanks Bruce, I'm glad to know that you like it. David G.
  23. Thanks Bob. The grilles on these old Plymouths do look great which is why I had to address AMT's decision to split the mold the way they did. The front of that car is meant to be the main visual focus, every feature on the car draws the eye straight toward it. I've seen others build it with that panel just glued into place and... I just couldn't do it that way. Thanks again. I'm glad you like it Rusty, thanks for saying so, and you're welcome. I'm trying to get on or two of these per month. By my reckoning I have eight or ten more to go. David G.
  24. I've gone in and reedited the old photos to hopefully make them a bit more eye friendly and uploaded them to the topic once again. This should be the last time I have to rescue this topic from the PhotoBucket Monster. Regards, David G.
