  1. Thank you - I cheated - laser tape measure pointed at the scanner when taking the picture.
  2. This thing gave me more fits than I expected - although I think pretty much every bit of that was my fault. Tamiya Lacquer for the black - stripped once after over aggressive polishing. Tamiya acrylics for the interior. I did fabricate some floor mats, seatbelts, and seatbelt hardware from tape and fine wire. I used embossing powder for the carpet. Scanner effect faked with the ol' Lowes laser tape measure. Even using the phone camera, you can really see the defects. I realized the T-Tops weren't properly seated only after looking at the pictures.
  3. AMT / Round2 evergreen 1970 1/2 Camaro. Still going strong sometime in the late 80's or so ... Tamiya paints used throughout, although I did use Testors Dullcote for the final clear finish. Kit decals used - although rather abused with tape and sandpaper. Rust effects accomplished by raiding wife's hairspray. Comments welcome.
  4. Beautiful work! Seeing that takes me back to days on the farm with my Granddad!
  5. Wow, that looks great!
  6. I think these have always been curbside kits. That is, the entire series. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/hasegawa-cc-9-porsche-962c--188762 They can look great on the shelf; but they really are an exercise in paint and decals.
  7. So very cool. Nicely done! Sure wish I had an unstarted one ... *sigh*
  8. Hello All I recently picked up the reissued AMT (Round2) USA-1 Monster Truck. Like so many kits, the sidewalls of the tires have no text/script. Is there an aftermarket set of tires that would be appropriate that include the 'Goodyear' lettering? Or, maybe they aren't Goodyear - but that is what I assume....
  9. This is beautiful and really looks as if the factory might have churned these out. Since you asked, I actually like it better without the fender skirts; and I think fender skirts are really cool in general. Regardless, this is an epic build! Really love seeing this take shape.
  10. Nice work. I've always thought these were beautiful cars. Looking forward to seeing your work...
  11. Bumping this to the top - I like your build. The white on the decals looks nice and opaque - you used just the one sheet that came with the kit? (besides adding your own sponsor decals, as you mentioned?) It looks great!
  12. I just ran across these, and was thinking of purchasing. Has anyone used this product? (I am not affiliated with them in any way whatsoever) Flash Master flash removal blades https://flashmasterhobby.com/
  13. Looking forward to seeing this build. Very cool!
  14. Hello All. Seems to be the best place in the world to ask. What would be a good source for dually wheels, tires (and axle, even!) if I were looking to convert any of the AMT early Chevy or Ford pickup trucks to a dually? Like, for a camper or hauler, for instance? Not the tandem wheel setup of the reissued Racer's Wedge, but side-by-side dually. thanks!
  15. Very cool. You cold sell those, probably
  16. Cool. They came with the kit, or you made them, or you got them elsewhere? ?
  17. Whoa! Those seats, Man! Groovy! Paper? Decals?
  18. Nice work!
  19. It looks quite sharp in that color!
  20. You know, I wouldn't have thought that would work - but what you have done looks fantastic! I really like it!
  21. Man, that's cool!
  22. Same here - I think it is a great looking build. By the title, I was anticipating a dragster or at least a scoop sticking through the hood.
  23. Built from the recent issue of the 1969 AMT (Round2) kit. Billy Gooche decals used; Testor's White Lightning lacquer over Tamiya Gray Primer; with Tamiya Semigloss Black hood and spoiler. Parts Pack Bluestreaks out back.
  24. I have both kits, the Orange z28 (split bumper) from a few years ago, and I just picked up the reissue with the full bumper. I started the original (split bumper) last night. with thoughts of doing something "less Z28". I haven't looked at the grill on the new release yet (full bumper). It didn't even occur to me to look for the Model Car Garage photoetch set; nor did it occur to me that the actual grill might be different between the two kits. I guess I should research 1970 / 1970.5 Camaro options a bit ....
