  1. Epic! Really, really well done.
  2. This is the coolest Nascar build I've seen in a while! Nicely done.
  3. Wow, that is awesome!
  4. Thank you for the kind comments. The kit, as others have noted, is kind of fiddly. But, it has potential. I did attempt to print up some decals on a color laser printer to make the "plaid" seats. It looks so-so in the pictures, but I wasn't super happy with the results. There is a bit of a bow in the chassis on my sample, which I should have worked harder to fix. I'd like to build another; attempting to remove the fender flares as others have mentioned trying. It's amazing what you see in the photos that you don't notice just looking at the model. Oh! I did strip the chrome and use Alclad II (first time) on the bumpers, grill, and side pipes. So, I broadened my horizons a little bit with this build.
  5. Where's the LUV? This is the recent reissue of the Monogram Chevy LUV and the kit features all the great - albeit improbable - features of a 1970's small truck - Chevy small block v8, sidepipes, impossibly wide wheels (with 8! lugs), over-exaggerated fender flares, etc. I built it with the groovy UFO themed decals featured on the box art. Painted with Tamiya acrylics and weathered with Tamiya panel line washes and cheap pastels. I was feeling pretty good about it all until I broke the front valance from the body during final assembly. My sample had a slight warp/twist to the chassis which I should have worked harder to remedy. I added the rearview mirror, fuzzy dice, and printed some plaid seat decals. Otherwise, what you see is what's in the box. Anywho, on to the next build ....
  6. Thank you all for your endorsement of Kris' products. Based on recommendations, I ordered several parts and they recently arrived. Crisply and beautifully cast and it looks like very little clean up is necessary. Highly recommended!
  7. Really great work on fixing the wheel arches!
  8. Nice beater!
  9. this is still the coolest build I've seen in a while!
  10. These cars look great in blue.
  11. I've enjoyed your work on this, Anthony - Any updates on this blast from the past?
  12. Really nicely done. I like the interior with it's "lived in" look. Where did you source the drive-thru cup?
  13. These are so awesome! Do you have a picture showing the entire fleet?
  14. I love this forum. This is why....
  15. Really like the color choice!
  16. Thank you for that tip! Regarding where you say the entire roof needs an extra .020 added - you mean in the front where the cutline will be?
  17. Maybe this belongs in another thread - but how does one correct the windshield of the AMT kit? I've seen where it's been done, but can someone point out a tutorial? The only one I found has watermarked images ... thanks!
  18. Yeah ... this seems like an era of truck that would be better served by the kit manufacturers.
  19. Styleside - I should have looked that up Does anyone do any resin for the Revell / Monogram '80 that's currently out? thanks!
  20. That's awesome. Needs a step bumper to be perfect
  21. Thank you for the comments regarding how to build a '74 Ford pickup. I"ve got the AMT kit and I've ordered some parts from MAD (Kris Morgan) and am looking forward to using those parts. Now .... what if I wanted to also build a 1984 Ford Pickup? Fleetside (is that the right term? Non-step side; whatever Ford called those). Where would be the best place to start? thanks!
  22. Just ran across some awesome detail shots of a Chevy Luv that we may all find useful. This is NOT my auction; I just happened upon this browsing. https://vmp.ebay.com/ebay/viewAllPhotos.aspx?smid=30538368
  23. Yeah, after reading about the old AMT kit, and grabbing a copy of the '78 reissue of the Firestones truck - I agree. That said, I'm collecting parts to try to replicate Dad's '74 using this the AMT as a starting point. (I fully expect Moebius to announce a 1974 Ford pickup as a result! LOL)
