FWIW : When the Monogram 1965-1966 Mustang kits were released in c.1985 , they were leaps and bounds above practically every offering that preceded them , especially the toy-like kits that Monogram produced throughout the 70's and early 80's . Yes , they are long in the tooth some thirty-plus years later ; but back in the mid-late 80's , they were king ! Same thing applies to the Monogram 1964 GTO --- spectacular for their time . Truthfully , I haven't built any of the aforementioned kits in over 25 years , so I can't attest to the moulds' conditions these days .

I hope that the 396 is equipped one-of-three ways : 1.) No A.I.R. pump (like the '67 Camaro kits are saddled with ---- even the Nickey version) 2.) A.I.R. pump with all of the accompanying lines and hoses 3.) Optional pulleys / belts which are sans A.I.R. pump ( easier to modify , add headers , etc. ) Truly , the 427 from the Motion '69 Camaro and the COPO (and the '69 convertible) is the best of the Mark IV engines from Revell . The 396 in the '67 Chevelle SS is okay , but isn't nearly as nice -- and accurate -- as the '69 Camaro variations' .

1969 Beaumont front bumper/grille

Thanks much for the direct-link . I obviously haven't followed-up on Pace's work (other than in Gone In 60 Seconds ) .

The exterior stuff would be easy ; it's the 300's upholstery that *may* present a *problem* .

Looks VERY nice so far ! I'd like to see the '69 done in 300 Deluxe Coupe body style ... Interchangeability between the AMT 396-427-454 / T.H.-400 / A.C. combo and the Revell 396-427-454 / 4-speed will hopefully be an easy swap . ( Resin Manufacturers : Umm ... Beaumont conversion , please ? )

Don Grotheer's 1969-1971 cars' paint schemes immediately come to mind : ... as well as the "Psychotic Reaction" 1968 Hemi Barracuda SS/AA ( whose name was derived from the Count Five song of the same name from 1965-66 ) : -
You're converting the 1971 Charger R/T to a 1972 ?

A friend / coworker of mine ( he's 65 ) recounted a brief story to me regarding Itchycoo Park : He heard me listening to the song on my phone while I was on lunch at work , and he was taken aback by hearing the song again (and furthermore that I'm a fan of the Small Faces) . He said , "I remember when that song came out ! My friend went-into [ a department store ] in [ Chicago Heights ] , grabbed the 45 [ of Itchycoo Park ] off the shelf , stuffed it up his shirt , and walked out . We listened to it over and over again ! " I recently bought There Are But Four Small Faces ( their first U.S. release ) . It's a double-disc set ; one disc is mono ( my favourite mix ) , and the second disc is stereo . I gave him the stereo mix to listen to ---- he was beaming ! I'm sure that he felt 15 years old again . I ended up just gifting the stereo disc to him , as I recognised how much joy it brought to him . Steve Marriott is such an underrated vocalist ---- just a Soulful delivery , a wide range that's incredible . Those pipes from a thin , 5'4" 'Artful Dodger' from England ! Too much ! He really brings that Blue Eye Blues voice out in Humble Pie . Thanks for sharing your story !

Those decals look fantastic , NJ ! Lots of cool and now-esoteric models represented here . I would like to submit a correction for the 'Cuda sets : - Plymouth's engines were called "Super Commando" ( Dodge's nomenclature was , "Magnum" ) - Plymouth's 440 Maximum Performance 440 was called "Six Barrel" ( Dodge called theirs " Six Pack" ) . This same nomenclature applies to the 1970-only AAR 'Cuda ( "SIX BARREL 340" ) ; Dodge was ( "340 SIX PACK" ) . To add to the confusion : the 1970 Challenger T/A has a styllised " SIX PAK" [sic] decal on its front fenders . I'm definitely not criticising you and your works here , so please don't take my submissions as such . Thank you

OPTIONS ! Yes , options . Not stupid packages ( which are a separate entity from axle packages of the old days ) . Ever attempt to order a vehicle to your (reasonable) specs ? Impossible ! When I bought my 2013 Civic , I wanted leather interior . Why ? MUCH easier to keep clean than cloth ! So , I wanted a Civic coupe in Alabaster Silver with the beige / buckskin leather interior ( trust me , you want lighter-coloured interior in the southwest U.S. ! ) ; but , alas , that interior was only available with dime-a-dozen white ! STUPID ! So , I had to settle for cloth charcoal / black / grey interior with the silver exterior . Additionally , I positively HATE tyre pressure monitors !!!! Just another obnoxious warning light on the already too-busy instrument clustre .

100 octane ( R+M/2 ) unleaded is retailing for around $9.00-$10.00 / gallon here ! 110+ octane leaded grades have to be closer to $15.00-$17.00 / gallon , AND it's "Not For Use In On-Road Vehicles" ( pfft ! I can smell that stuff a mile away as it emanates from the pipes of a , say , 1969 Hemi Road Runner that one of our customers has ) .
-
Each manufacturer's vehicles had their unique-to-them sounds ; Chrysler's Gear-Reduction Starter comes to mind right off . Every vehicle had its unique odours which became more apparent with age ; I can still smell the interior of any 60's - 70's Chrysler . I miss REAL gasoline --- California's garbage witches' brew gas has got to be thee worst smelling trash , from its liquid / gaseous state to its vapour state . Yes , leaded gas smells 'sweet' , especially the racing grades . Unfortunately , we now have to smell what can only be compared to a burning lake ! Sure , new(er) vehicles are quite reliable and will run a long time without having to change engine oil every 3,000 miles ( thanks to fuel injection / dry intake manifolds ) , and will start hot or cold just as effortlessly . However , when time comes to replace something simple ( again , light bulbs ! ) , it's a monumental undertaking ! The battery in the company's 2015 Transit Connect took a big ol' healthy deuce ---- it took over an hour to replace the stupid thing ! It's crammed-under the cowl , which requires removing a grip of plastic c-rap out of the way ! Could have replaced FIVE batteries in my '72 Coronet in that time ! -

I should have clarified : I won't play those discs when my dad's travelling with me . I've been into D.R.I. and S.O.D. since 1985 when I was in high school ; a friend introduced me to them . Dealing With It is still one of my all time favourite albums ---- I usually crank that one up on my way to work in the morning , especially if I'm not awake yet ! Stooges , MC5 , Velvet Underground = my favourite 60's avant garde bands . I'd have to say that The Stooges Raw Power is their best album (haven't listened to any of their work past Metallic K.O.) . I actually have that album in three iterations : 1997 "Iggy Remix" ; 1995 "Rough Power" ( BOMP ! Records ) ; and the 2013 anniversary edition ( restored Bowie mix ; 2nd disc is a bootleg from Richard's , which was / is some bar in Georgia ) .

From a short-lived British T.V. programme Colour Me Pop , the Small Faces performing tracks off of Ogden's Nut Gone Flake (1968) , which was their last album .

I'm in the minority --- I actually love Judas Priest's first album ( Rocka~Rolla , 1974 ) . Just wanted to preface with that statement . My father is 81 ; he grew-up listening to Jazz and Big Band --- never did get into Rock . I'm constantly amazed that he actually enjoys some of the stuff that I listen to ! While driving to Laughlin , Nevada , some 12 years ago , I put Arthur Lee & Love Forever Changes in the disc player , and the ol' man liked it ! Same goes for Television Marquee Moon ; Small Faces There Are But Four Small Faces ; Johnny Thunders So Alone . Certainly , I'm not going to play albums such as L.A.M.F. ( Heartbreakers ) ; any Stooges album ; no MC5 ; and definitely no D.R.I. , SOD , etc.

1/25 AMT '65 Chevy El Camino "Gear Hustler"
1972coronet replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
How cool would that be if Round2 were to find the boat and I-6 tooling inserts ( if , indeed , they were actual inserts vs. "unicast" [ for lack of proper term ] moulds ) ! Yes , there are "better" choices for a six-banger , bbuuutttttt ... I'm just glad that the tooling exists for the '65 El Camino , and that Round2 is reissuing it . -
The decal sheet that was included in the '72 annual that I bought has a May 1971 date on its back-side . Additionally , that decal sheet is in *frighteningly* great condition , especially considering that it's almost as old as yours truly !

I just read that article ! Nice that the very car used for measurements is still around ( though I wish that its curator / owner / operator would re-add the "V1W" white vinyl roof back to its rightful spot ! ) . I don't know how many of those kits I've built over the past 35-ish years ( the original with the Turtle Wax pouch ; the second iteration thereof ; and finally , the c.1986 issue (moulded in non-metallic light red) , the 2-in-1 version with the tunnel ram and Cragar S/ST wheels) . I ran out of Monogram's "Big-n-Little" tyres (think : 1970 Chevelle SS-454 3-in-1 from c.1985) building so many of them !

What cars interest you in resin 1/25

Both MPC and AMT (at one time separate entities) produced Mustang II "annuals" . The MPC variant ,in my opinion , is the better of the two .
