That engine is looking CLEAN! Will be watching this one with interest. As much as I loved my '63 Biscayne, I have to give Ford the nod for full-size car styling in "63 and '64. This is one of my absolute favorite years for big Fords. Can you link to your other build; I can't seem to find it?

Can you elaborate a bit on the inaccuracies of the Revell kit body? I don't know much about the Beetle, so it looks OK to me. Is it something that can be corrected? Your model looks very cool!

Shortening the scoop was a very positive move; I find myself liking it much more as it is now, actually adds a swooping feel to the car, a sort of "in motion while standing still" feel that I find attractive in auto design. That interior is SO crisp and clean; GREAT work! My 2 pennies on the grille treatment; the dual headlights look to take up too much of the opening. I'd be tempted to stick with single headlamps, which would also mimic the rear end styling parts from the 61 Ford. Some versions of the Tom Daniel '60 Impala drag wagon had a tube grille with single lights, I believe, that could be adapted nicely. Maybe someone here can tell me which? (Bad News, Quicksilver, Street Fighter, etc?) Anywho, just my thinking out loud, so to speak. Your handling of this project is exemplary! MMMOOORRRRE!!!!

I think you should consider using the wood grain as you have it; it is a very attractive not-so-light tone! Sometimes a bit of unexpected contrast can be visually stimulating. I wouldn't discard it just yet, maybe do some more testing with your other colors next to the light wood grain... remember how your eyes were tricked by the white plastic vs. the taped-off appearance? You really need to place your colors against each other to see HOW they affect each other. I think you might surprise yourself! Looking nice so far...

Off to a nice start! Very attractive color; what's the interior color going to be? Will be watching with interest as I used to own a '66 SS with a 327, 3-speed manual shift on-the-column(!). Mine was black with a white interior. Love these big Chevies!

Totally agree. Correct-scale-appearance on the details is not often done so well! (Plug wires the size of garden hoses is a peeve of mine, and has ruined many an otherwise fine looking model.) Kudos as well for the correct factory placement of the plug wires, instead of the easy way out; laid over the valve covers. I will, however, forgive anyone a bit of scale cheating who tries to make a throttle return spring; they just never look quite right to me. You did as fine a job as I've seen, though! Really looking forward to what you do with the rest of the build...
