Chopped '32 Ford Tudor Sedan Highboy. The beginning!...
espo replied to Tim W. SoCal's topic in WIP: Model Cars
As for any suggestions on frame color, may input would be lots of spoon color test runs. For some reason I find the sedan body style more interesting than a normal 3 or 5 window coupes. -
Look forward to seeing you put your touch in this.

Been enjoying looking at your builds and the Aussie subjects. The level of detailing and paint finishes have all been outstanding. Have often wished some of the later Holden vehicles could have been purchased here. In 2005 I bought what was sold here as a Pontiac GTO. This would have been a Holden Manero there. The car had the 6 liter, 400 hp LS2 engine with a 6 - speed manual Transmisson with fully independent suspension. The interior was on a par with the highest end cars sold here and the fit and finish throughout the car was as well. Truly hated to have to sell it, but as one advances in age agility required to get in and out of some cars becomes an issue, and so I now drive a Dodge Charger. When I was a young man there used to be a bumper sticker that said, "Stamp out low performance drivers - not high-performance cars". I still agree with that sentiment.

Ford had a great body style here. Your "before" finish looks great, the "after" finish is very realistic looking rust and deterioration.
-
Beautiful looking paint and interior colors and finish. The engine detailing adds a lot of realism. I like the overall Tunner look with the stance and the wheel and tire combination.

Great looking Police Car. Nice kit with all the PD stuff in it.

Congratulations on the well-deserved award.

Looks like the "Rally Green" color. Great paint and the Z stripes that everyone had to have. Chrome Cragar's and shackles, perfect stance. Like the engine detailing also.

Beautiful looking build. I like how you presented some of the history of the car and its design. Most have no idea what it is when they see one, but they still make me smile and respect what they represented at the time. A few years ago, on a short vacation in Grande Travers Bay Mi. they were having an owner's convention there. These cars in various colors and trim were all over town, it was a sight. Your build accurately shows many of the quarks and unique features of the car.

Beautiful looking Monte. The paint finish is better than anything GM was doing at that time, but the color is spot on. We ordered a new '86 Monte Carlo SS and owned it for 18 years. It was this shade of white with the dark maroon interior. The shape of the taillight reveals, and the decals are slightly different between the '87 and the '86. From what I can see of the interior it looks exact. The engine is detailed just like the real car. These were great cars for what was available at the time and your build look very accurate to my eyes.

Nice to see that you're back on this build. Having also owned a '69 Camaro years ago, not a big block car, I have been enjoying watching the extent you have been going to in the detailing and accuracy in your build. -
It's a '30-sumthin' truck thingy...

The Arden Head conversion was originally designed to give larger Ford trucks with the Flathead engine a little more pulling power years ago. Then engine builders of the day discovered they could enhance Flathead engines used in more performance uses. A '40 with a blown Arden engine makes perfect sense here. -

This looks just fine. -
Great looking Nomad. The color reminds me of the old Chevrolet Harbor Blue shade. Clean detailing throughout.
-
Really bright body and interior colors. Great body work blending all of the custom body parts. You got the stance as well.
-
Beautifully done paint finish and like the color. Great interior detailing and hiding all those wires and battery.

The under carriage looks like a SF Bay area car might look if parked on the street its whole life. -
Major looking body work so far.

I was thinking of manual transmission applications. As for automatic transmission cars, my personal feeling is that using the left foot for braking, while it seems many like to use this method, I feel as though it would be too easy to press to hard without realizing it and cause other control problems. Unless the use of your left foot was and is your normal driving style with an automatic. In emergency situations many drivers tend to brake to hard or even turn the wheel too far and lose control of a vehicle.

Great color combination and like the wheels you used. Nice engine detailing.

Great looking shade of blue and the black stripes look good. Like the wheels and the engine detailing.
