Both of these are beautiful looking builds. I like the slightly different styles. I like the rear tires on the blue car especially.

I wasn't interested in this as a build for myself, but after seeing what you have made out of it I'/m reconsidering this one for the future.

Cool 4x4 Corvair wagon...
espo replied to BlackSheep214's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Checkout You Tube for a lot of this guys adventures. He has built this and several Jeep based trucks. He and a group of family and friends go out and pull people out some places that they had no business being in. -

Should soapy water not get the job done try the Purple Pond. -
I got mine at a local hobby shop. Looking thru this I noticed a few that we all got to see being built here on the Forum.

Very clean looking well detailed build. The colors seem like what you would expect on this. -
1953 F-100 "The Pusher"
espo replied to Painted Black's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That's a good looking bumper. I have done a couple in the past but with a wood finish on the push surface. The cut up old tire surface would prevent some paint damage in real life. Many many years ago I used a traffic sensor that I got from the Highway Dept. scrap heap. This is when the sensors were a metal plate that a cars front tires would rest on to trigger a traffic light change. The back side had about a half inch of hard rubber that would be facing the roadway bed and was bonded to the steel plate. We would get these for next to nothing and cut to size, then attach mounting brackets to mount to the front bumper or frame. -

Great work on the cab and it looks good with the short bed. I like the color combination. Lots of nice chrome details with the lights and front bumper. -
Foose 56 International?
espo replied to mchook's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
The OEM interior colors might have been a combination of the blue and white exterior colors. Usually a commercial vehicle like this would have a black heavy duty rubber floor covering. Since this isn't exactly an OEM truck with the bucket seats and the Ford dash, do you want a nice custom interior or something that looks like it was sort of what ever the wrecking yard had laying around when you found the seats. Do it which ever way you think looks best, I'm sure you'll make it look good. -

Nice start. Wondering how you are going to build the front push bumper. -
1966 Suburban with boat.

The new interior in the boat looks good. -
On the windshield issue , you might post your need of a windshield on the forum.

Great looking engine compartment.

Just a thought on a stock OEM style engine. Consider the Galaxy Chevrolet kits engine. This is the same design as found in a 1:1 '37 Chevrolet. The kits engine has the correctly shaped Valve Covers as well as the Intake and Exhaust Manifolds. There are also some custom engine parts that could be used to build a Hot Rod also.

Beautiful looking build. All your efforts to make a replica of your family's car really paid off. I enjoyed watching all of your attention to the fine details during the build.

Anyone else notice their mention of a Chrome Spray paint ?

1966 Suburban with boat.
espo replied to landman's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
The Suburban body is looking nice. A thought on the front wheel for the trailer. The trailers used for boats of this size and weight usually are supported by a small cross member at the front. The support for the wheel passes thru the small crossmember adding both strength to the frame and the crank system for raising and lowering the wheel. This will also make it somewhat easier to replicate. -
Great looking paint work and I like how you showed your method of masking the flames.

AMT '65 Impala box art custom built with Revell kit
espo replied to Can-Con's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I like how you detailed the stock interior with a few custom touches here and there. The dash stands out well and I like how you did the carpeting treatment. Again, the fade paint job on the body is really well done. -
Just like belly buttons everyone has an opinion on EV's. I like the way this person put forward the information and the logic he put forward seems to make sense to me. I admit to being in the IC camp on this subject. I have seen a value in some cases for the battery operated items such as my yard weed eater and I would consider a lawn mower as well if I hadn't moved to a maintains provided home. I liked how he explained why companies are still investing in the IC engines going forward.

Land Rover Series III LWB - Revell
espo replied to Dominik's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Great looking finish. This would look good in a diorama of a snow setting. The effect is very accurate looking. -
Great looking every day Impala SS. Nice slightly weathered look makes it very realistic. I also like this kit and was excited to learn that Revell was going to release it since I had a new '66 Impala SS in Danube Blur with Black interior. Mine came out of dealer inventory and had the thin white stripe tires of the day.

Great looking finishes and fit on the hatch.
