  1. Looks great. I like the color and paint finish. The vinyl roof looks very nice also.
  2. I picked up an AMT '67 Chevelle Pro Street kit at 40 % off. No coupon needed. Might want to check out Hobby Lobby near you as they're selling all kits at 40 % off.
  3. Stopped by a Hobby Lobby to day and found that they're having a 40% off sale on all models. No coupon needed. I have no idea if this is everywhere but it may be worth checking it out in your location. I got the AMT '67 Chevelle Pro Street kit. Thank you Round 2.
  4. This is a more common problem then you my realize. I keep a small projector beam type flash light in my work bench drawer. I have to get down on my hands and knees and shine the light across the floor/carpet or what ever combination you have on the floor. This will usually show the part and some other things you forgot that you lost, also you realize it's time to dust and vacuum the floor. Small parts seem to gravitate toward the legs of a work bench or along the base board. No I don't know why but that's where I usually find my parts.
  5. Great advice. There are honest dealers out there, it just seems harder to find them anymore.
  6. Most dealers recon the used cars to at least look as good as possible and if they're going to short cut the recon expenses it would be in the mechanical area. I know every area does things a little different, but even the "Pot Lots", "Buy here pay here", type lots around here usually touch up any obvious paint problems. A local new car dealer has sold us 4 of our last 5 cars. The 5th car was a model that they didn't stock normally so it was purchased from another dealer that is even closer to our home. The regular dealer had an outstanding service department and were always enjoyable to deal with. A couple of years ago the long time owner retired and under the new ownership the service department has suffered horribly to the point I will not take my car there anymore. I it wasn't for the particular Salesman I wouldn't have bought our last car there either. The point is this dealership used to offer late model cars and truck as well as a few older models but in perfect condition unlike now. I would consider looking at private party used cars in that you can maybe get an idea of how the used car had been maintained.
  7. When you get reedy to do something about the Sirius radio you might check and see what it would cost to add just the Sirius and not change out the whole radio. Before the Sirius radio option became common place on new cars I added it to several of our own cars. The kit I would get would have all of the connecters to add it to your present radio and included a dedicated antenna and several mounting options.
  8. They're both beautiful looking builds. I also like the interesting paint schemes.
  9. Good looking Pinto. I like the theme idea. One feature about the 1:1 car I always liked was the big rear window. Some of the earlier modals had the real small rear glass.
  10. It would be interesting to find out what material the caster used for the siding on the camper casting.
  11. The way I do it is to due any painting after the instillation. Sometimes I'll be painting different parts of the interior at different times and I just find it easier for me to use tape to mask off the different areas. I suggest trying some small pieces of scrap and try different methods to see what works best for you. This may also vary from one interior style to the next also.
  12. Sounds like a win win to me. Nice thing about the glass doors is that they will cut down on the house dust and I think Mark's idea of the felt door seals would help a lot on that issue.
  13. Thankyou for checking it out. I hope to have this under glass by Monday. The bumpers are always a fun fight.
  14. Great looking 1 ton. I like how you did the interior detailing also.
  15. I agree, the steel's look best here.

The paint finish looks amazing. I like how you're detailing the engine and those are the best looking Ford valve covers that you just never see any more.
  17. Very nice looking color. This should look good against the white vinyl roof you did.
  18. Great idea, very realistic looking.
  19. I have used some Plastruct products for just what you're trying to do here. They have a half round product in several sizes. I just used their #90881 1.5 mm wide for piping around some tuck & roll in a build I'm finishing right now. This will glue easily and can bend around corners very well. I give it a touch of glue and tape it in place to dry.
  20. Another source of sheet plastic would be Plastruct. They also offer a wide verity of patterns. I have used their #91519 O scale siding for interiors. Just an additional source for you to check and see if they have anything that would work for you. I'd like to see your build on this trailer when you start on it.
  21. The only exception may have to do with the level of trim. Some trim levels had stainless steel moldings on the side window and those vents would be a low gloss silver color. Some such as the SS or Rally Nova trim my be black in color depending on what year they were produced as the window trim would be changed from year to year. Funny fact. Some of GM's plant workers Union and GM were hashing out labor contracts. We got a Nova that was on the showroom floor for display. The drivers side vents were vertical as should be. The passenger side vents were horizontal as they would have been on the Pontiac Ventura that shared this body. Labor dispute or material shortage ? This may explain the GMC hub caps that were on the floor of a new pick-up instead of the Chevrolet hub caps, it was an interesting time in the car biz and we even got Monte Carlos ordered with bucket seats and a console. Well we got the bucket seats with no console.
  22. Great looking rebuild. Nice color.
  23. They were body colored.
  24. Very clean looking build. I like the color and the finish also.
  25. This build is off the charts. I like the Belly Pan and everything is hinged in the opposite side from stock. The understated color look better than something load or bright. The suspension details are beautiful to look at.
