  1. I hope your booth exhaust isn't integrated with the Dryer vent. This could bring a whole new meaning to lint in the paint problem.
  2. The rear chassis/suspension looks well presented . Interesting inner support for the hood, this may be a more accurate kit than some have said.
  3. Use a mask going in and out of stores. Went out to breakfast at our favorite place last week on a Monday morning. We had most of the dinning area to our selves and all of the wait staff were masked up. I'll error on the side of safety on the mask thing. Well over 65, enlarged heart, high blood pressure, and allergic to anything green and blooms. Other than that all is good.
  4. In most cases, on the mainland anyways, the rate at which a car body deteriorates can depend on the road conditions it is exposed to and how it is cared for. Different parts of the country where salt based compounds are used are very detrimental to any metal bodies. About the only thing worse would be having the car parked outside near a body of water with an onshore breeze that will put moist air into every crevice in the body. This gets even worse when the vehicle isn't washed on and waxed on a regular basis .
  5. Beautiful looking build and very realistic looking as well. Almost to nice to take Wheel'n.

    Amt 58 Chevy

I agree with everyone else on the color and finish. The '58 GM bodies all seemed to hit a bright spot in design and were only a one year only also. A friend of mine had a white convertible with red interior. A lot of good times went with that car.
  7. Another beautiful looking paint design. Can't even imagine how much that would cost on a 1:1 car.
  8. Beautiful clean looking build. Just the right amount of chrome removal and paint to accent the body lines.
  9. This paint jobs, just like on the 1:1 cars are really a work of art.
  10. Great looking paint. I have a special appreciation of the '58 Pontiacs. These are the perfect canvas for you painting style.
  11. Great looking Galaxie and the paint finish is nice and smooth. The interior and exterior colors look good together.
  12. Great looking paint scheme as always. Few builders actually open the T-Tops on these, but it helps to see the interior detailing done on this.
  13. Beautifully done. Another very creative paint design.
  14. Beautiful to look at, but the best part for me anyway was studying all the different finishes you used thru out. The close up pictures really show the clean assembly of your model.
  15. To tone down the chrome trim consider using either Tamiya Panel Line or X-19 Smoke paint. I'll use just a dab of the paint on any details on the wipers and use your finger or Q-Tip to wipe away the part you don't want.
  16. Very cool bit of fabrication. I look forward to watching your build on this.
  17. While it's only my opinion, the large diameter wheels and tires just don't look correct in this application. I would suggest something that represents a 15" or no larger than 16" wheel and larger rear tires than in front. The Cragars look good but there may be others that might work just as well. What style do you like ?
  18. I like the looks of this build. Where did you go for the Resin body and what is your impression of the quality ??
  19. The reason that I thought the Calipers are bad is based on the way that the Rotor is worn so much more on one side. This is normally a sign that the pads on one side are not being applied as much as the other. I noticed the amount of rust damage to the different areas on the suspension and other parts. The channels that the Calipers move on can become contaminated and not allow both sides to clamp the Rotor with the same force. This can cause the one side of the Rotor to be worn much faster.
  20. Always rewarding to build a model of past vehicles that you have owned, especially with the pleasant memories that go along with it. Your paint scheme makes this standout visually and the interior looks great. I like how you detailed your engine and resisted any chrome upgrades. Shinny Cragars and some 60 series Polyglass looks period perfect. .
  21. The Rotor is toast and I'll bet your Caliper is as well. I notice greater wear on one side of the Rotor than the other. I'm surprised you didn't hear the Pads rubbing on the Rotor. Besides the cracks and parts of the Rotor that are about to break off, the center cooling vanes are all but rusted away. You might even consider providing information on your experience with this facility to what ever department oversees their work. Would seem obvious that they either are not qualified for the job or they just take your money and may not even do an inspection. As you pointed out any of these problem could have lead to a very bad accident and even bodily harm to anyone in the vehicle. Safety is the reason for these inspections in the first place and if you can't rely on the inspectors this defeats the inter reason for having inspections.
  22. I like the engine swap idea and the paint and color look great.
  23. Great looking paint treatment. Old time favorite kit also.
  24. One of my first cars was a '51 Chevy so that added to my interest. I have seen some 1:1 vehicles done in these manor years ago and some were really well done. Others looked like they were tailgated by a trailer. This one the proportions looked correct.
  25. Beautiful looking Van. The paint work is very reminiscent of that point in time.
