  1. I would say this build is in very capable hands. I'll enjoy watching this come together.
  2. You could do that and work it around with the kits single 4 barrel and just make a tubing from the super charger to the standard carb. if you prefer. For the ease of using the kits fan belt just mount the super charger in that position. This is from the era of floating Alt. and super chargers so a little scrap of plastic would make a great looking mounting bracket between the engine and the housing. I like the stance and the wheel choice goes well with it.
  3. I really like what you're doing on this build. STITCHUP's suggestion on moving the roof forward should save you lengthening the roof section. I would offer just two suggestions. Since you're making it a two door. Move the B Pillar toward the rear of the body to represent the back edge of the door. This would make the proportions look better. This would take some extra slicing and dicing with the wood trim, but I think it would look more like a two door than a four door with the rear door nailed shut. The filler panels from the custom coupe is something I never thought of and depending on the style you're going for that may actually give the body a sleeker appearance. You might want to see how you want to mate that panel with the wood trim. You might remove the upright wood trim on everything except the door and create wood trim of a size like the area over the rear fender, and run that along as the break between the wood and the filler panel. Again that filler panel idea really does give this a Kustom look.
  4. This kit had an engine option of 2 four barrel carbs., and a super charger. The super charger mounts to the right side outer pully on the fan belts. The ducting from the rear of the super charger splits into a "Y" and that mounts to the air cleaners. This represents the old Paxton super charger that was produced first for Studebaker and Ford products. They were located in Santa Monica Cal., on Olympic Blvd.
  5. Enough with the TP problems. We can't do a whole lot about that now, but hopefully soon. These popup ads are out of control. I guess a few are necessary to pay for the forum but, and this is a very big but, when they're running over posts and in between them so you can't even find what you're looking for it becomes a problem. I have noticed a steady rise in this problem and the fact that there was updates done this last week end, is it possible that they are somehow now allowed easier entry to the Forum ?
  6. That is a long time, but it sure looks like it was time well spent.
  7. Since I'm right handed I guess that answers that.
  8. Steve, I dug thru some of my older kits and had no luck finding what you need. I did find one or two that I'm thinking of moving up toward the front of the line. Please post pictures of the Pontiac when you build it.
  9. Free floating hood ornaments, door handles, windshield wipers. These are all so small and have little contact area to glue and are often to small to pin. Course no matter what type of glue you use it wants to go everywhere but the mounting point. I can pretty much muddle through the rest.
  10. I'll have to remember about the cover up idea. Now if I could just get Cows to fly mine would look like a Sunday drive in the country.
  11. I'm going to enjoy watching this build. I'd stay with as much of the TJ as you can since as you pointed out it is better looking. The Hemi idea would be wild and my be a little hard to fit. I don't know where you would find one, but a 4 liter in line 6 with some goodies add might be interesting. Most 1:1's seem to wind up with a SBC or now an LS engine. With the longer wheel base and the Commando back half of the body this should be interesting.
  12. Bird Poop ? Why not. The contrast between the two colors should really get your attention. I love the way you finished the wheels. The dash is great also.

    AMT '72 Nova

Your correct, that color is an acquired taste , but the build looks great. The kit's body proportions look a little off in the area of the Windshield and side Windows look to tall. The Roof over the Windshield would have extended down a little bit over the top of the Windshield. You did get a great paint job with that paint. The tinted windshield is a nice touch as well as the extra cost chrome moldings around the side windows.
  14. Beautiful looking build. The weathering from the road splash is done so well it's hard to tell it isn't real.
  15. Excellent job on recreating the body damage on this one.
  16. I remember reading about that. I doubt I'm the only one seeing a new trend in building distressed models of cars and truck that have gone into the drink.
  17. This is a great kit by any measure and this edition especially with all the extra tires. Great looking engine so far.

Good idea, except if you live in this area. The MHP and KHP just put out the numbers for accidents and fatalities comparing this year to last. The numbers are actually increasing in our area ?? The KCPD said in the last week they have cited four people at over 100 MPH and many more in the 80 MPH range. Seams that with the reduced number of cars on the road there is a number of the population that are getting ready for qualifying for the next NASCAR race at KC.
  19. Like so many artist, either you like it or you don't. Can depend on the music you grew up with or your social group would listen to. Being a certain age can help in this case also. I rest my case.
  20. Beautiful looking finish. I'm glad you included some of the assembly pictures, they show the attention to all of the little details..
  21. Looks like a mind meld between the two. While it still looks like a '57 Bel Air, there is very little of the Bel Air left. You have made the two bodies flow together nicely. Beautiful looking combination.
  22. I keep going back over your pictures looking at how you made everything flow together. The colors you used on the interior and wheels give just the right contrast with the Black body color. The stance is great the way the tires tuck up under the body. These 1:1 cars are one of my personal favorites having had a few many years ago, none anything nearly what you have here.
  23. Great looking build. I like how you utilized so any parts from different kits. Looks like you even used the exhaust and interior from the T-Bird kit.
  24. Great looking Convertible, The color does come out looking a little beige but I remember seeing on with this same maroon interior color back when and it looked good also.
