Very nice looking. Unusual two tone color combination but the colors look good. I like the engine detailing as it draws attention to the details without becoming the focus point. The interior colors work great with the exterior colors.
  2. Take a 2800 lb. to a 3000 lb. vehicle with a good 400+ foot pounds of torque. Bring the Tach. up to 3000+ rpm and "pop" the Clutch and watch what happens when the rear tires start to get traction. You'll be out there with the grounds crew helping to clean up the mess. If you're lucky one of the U-joints will go first and then you just listen to the drive shaft beat the tar out of the floor boards. And you're going to want to roll down the window because all of the dust from under the seats will be flying around inside the car. Been there, done that.
  3. I don't know if this is the proper place for something I would like to see Moebius take on. The focus seems to be toward Mopar products and so I would like to see the latest body style Dodge Charger. From a product stand point it would offer them the option of several different type of styles. A regular RT or one of the more interesting Hell Cats and the option of a Police car even. Depending on licensing cost as well as the normal design to production costs I think with the options they would have they could spread the costs over at least 3 or 4 different releases.
  4. Great looking Corvette and I like how you kept all of the factory trim. The color looks good now, look forward to the sunshine pictures.
  5. About the only fuel you can buy in this area is E-10. Most cars that aren't designated as a Flex- Fuel user will run well and the driver will not notice any difference, until they get a tank of good old fashion E-0. Example, A few years ago we had a '10 Dodge Charger RT with AWD. We took a little vacation with another couple to Northern Michigan, Travers City. A must visit by the way. Leaving our area on E-10 and skipping buying any gas in Iowa. Sorry but I made that mistake with another car on another trip, and even using their so called premium grade the 3.8 Grand Prix sounded like their were rocks rolling around in the engine. We stopped some where in the Illinois just before going into Michigan and filled the Dodge with what we found out had zero ethanol. The immediate difference in power was far more than you would expect and a 2 -3 MPG increase was not hard to deal with either. On our return heading home we filled up again with the Illinois gas and the same thing again. I have experience similar performance gains with different cars under similar conditions. My '05 GTO had a warning in the owners manual to not use Ethanol Fuels at any time. They stated that it would cause engine damage. I was stuck with E10 and I didn't experience any problems. We're forced to buy what ever fuel our local Governments dictate for what ever reason they see fit,
  6. I just was reading some of my EMail from last week and a Road & Track edition they sent me on 1/19 had a video and a short story about a guy with a CV like yours that he put a 5-speed in. The sound track especially is great to listen to. Don't know if you get R&T or can get into their site but you might want to try. The driver knows how to handle a manual transmission.
  7. I remember those now that you mention them. Did they ever get released ? The pictures that I saw looked like it would be a great kit in ether stock or gasser style.
  8. What year Nova are you thinking? AMT had the hap hazard Nova SS and Revell offers the '69 that can easily be converted to anything up to the '73 model year. I would like to see the '75 or newer model Nova offered if it is done in the proper proportions unlike the AMT Hatchback that just isn't correct.

  10. Great looking Olds. I'm a fan of your wheel choice and I like the "Arrest me Red" paint job.

    1969 Chargers

Great looking paint jobs and the trim details are cleanly done. I like your diorama back ground.
  12. The Revell '57 Ford kits have a very accurate looking 9" Differential in their kits. The Differential in the AMT '49-'50 Ford kits have a pretty good representation of what Ford was using at the time. The term "9 inch" for the Ford Differentials has to do with the diameter of the Differential Ring Gear. On outward appearances the 9" Differential has several distinctive reinforcing webs on the side of the Carrier. The Carrier is a drop out design in which the axles are pulled slightly out of the Differential Housing allowing the Carrier to be unbolted and the Differential Carrier containing Gears and bearings can be removed. This maybe "TMI" but maybe it will help.
  13. I think Bill makes some very good points on the flight and crash of the Helicopter in which everyone was riding. Later yesterday noon after I posted my initial thought there was an internet post that showed the Radar locations and the Audio with the tower. The Piolet seemed to be in constant contact with the Control Tower and was even at one point directed to wait to cross flight paths from a local Air Port. The Control Tower is even heard asking for clearance for Helicopter to proceed since they had been holding their position for several minuets. They got the clearance and the Helicopter can be seen on the Radar screen moving with the guidance of the Tower. The audio has the Tower telling the Piolet that they were handing them off to another Control Tower, and the Piolet can be heard talking to the other Tower and the Tower Controller responding with instructions. In just a few moments the Controller is heard trying to contact the Piolet who was making the maneuver requested by the Tower and at that time the Tower could not get a response from the Helicopter and another moment and the helicopter disappears from the Radar Screen. As Bill mentioned the many challenges that a Piolet faces just flying let alone under the conditions at the time. The entire event is tragic for everyone involved.
  14. Always sad when anyone dies in such a way no matter how famous they were or not. I feel sad for the families of all aboard the Helicopter. I'm hearing now the weather conditions were so bad the LAPD had grounded their own Helicopter because of fog and low visibility. They were being guided by someone in the control tower. Sure hate to think everyone lost their lives trying to get somewhere when it wasn't safe to even be in the air. The flight information was on the TV this morning and they were quoting the LAPD about the flying conditions.
  15. Great looking stock truck. Sometimes we forget what they really looked like when new.
  16. This is a great looking Impala. The '58 model always looked like a custom when they were stock.
  17. I like how you're changing the body around. Getting ideas watching how you're going about this.
  18. Is the bottom photo of the black GT your family ride ? This is a nice kit and a great subject. I built one when they first came out and the only issue I encountered was the wheel backs put the tires, particularly the fronts, to far out. May been the builder, but that is an area you might keep an eye on. Always enjoy building models of cars that I either owned or was somehow attached to when younger.
  19. The roof proportions work great with the Mustang body. Have you thought about how you want the bottom edge of the rear side window, or just leave as is ?
  20. Great to see an older vehicle that is this well cared for. Beautiful countryside you're driving thru.
  21. Quick go to the market and buy up all of the products still on the shelf with Mister Peanut on the wrapper and hid them in your safety deposit box at the bank. Just think how much these items will be worth in time to come.
  22. I always enjoy seeing your rig, and it's always so clean looking. That shut off button would be a great anti theft devise. Most cars we buy today have a chip in the computer that acts as a fuel shut off. This is usually based on the speed rating of the OEM tires and I'm sure that there are speeds the manufacture might use with overall safety in mind. My '95 Chevy C1500 x-cab was set to 110 mph. I'm not telling how I found out. We had our '10 Charger RT with AWD up to about 120 mph in a very deserted section of highway in an unnamed state. The car was still pulling like a freight train but the wife of the couple in the back seat was starting to wine a bit so we returned to the posted speed limit.
  23. Great looking Ghost Buster. The theme song is playing in my head now.
  24. I'd look on line for any color charts for the '66 model year. They also offered two different shades of Gold, one was a light gold with very little metallic in it and a darker but brighter shade of gold. Look at my avatar of my '67 El Camino as that is the color and it was also available for a couple of model years at that time. Also please post your redo on that as I would enjoy seeing it also.
  25. In '66 Chevrolet also offered a pale Beige color that was pretty popular then.
