Interesting body work. Looks as if the wheel base is longer and additions to the body length between the rear wheel opening and the door along with an addition toward the rear bumper. The roof has been lengthened by at least the length of the new quarter window. The overall look is proportionate and looks fine to me. I have never liked the luggage racks on Corvettes and added with a black spoiler seems to be a big detraction to the overall appearance.

Death of the Camaro? (Again?)
espo replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
While I have always been a big Camaro fan (had a '69 for 14 years and a new '77 for a couple of years and lost it in the big D) The newer body style looks good on the outside, at least to me, but not that impressed with the inside. I have never driven on though. Thought about getting one in '05 but got a new GTO instead. LOVED IT. With all of the manufactures putting all of their development dollars in SUV's and pick-ups I can see where the passenger car as we have known it is about to go the way of the Dodo Bird. -
I have made my own shift lever out of flat sheet plastic before. I would draw out the shape I wanted on the flat stock and then cut it out. You may have to use more than one piece to get the thickness you want. glue them together and sand to shape. For the shift knob I have used pins with small round heads on them. Just drill the end of the shifter until the pine will slid in and glue. Paint or chrome the shift lever to your liking.

Great looking Midget Racer. Very clean looking. Is this the V-8 model or the Offy engine one ? This can be a difficult build since so many of the parts are small and very delicate. I always thought the kits trailer tires were a larger diameter than they should have been.

I like the fender repair, and McNally's latest adventure sounds better than ever.

I agree with everyone else, these are very nice looking builds. The little '53 Ford really stands out to me.

Great looking build. Someone in the 1:1 world might just build this. Besides the excellent body work and paint, the interior and chassis are the most impressive. I like the Ford in a Ford theme also.

Great looking Gasser. I like how you did the lettering on the body. The "Lace" paint work on the C pillar is perfect for the era.

Very nice looking Studebaker. This was a popular color combination when these were new.

Great looking Nova and I like the build theme. Very clean looking build.

Looks just like the real car. I can almost feel the "itch" from the Mohair seats. This build looks just like a showroom car. I hope they reissue this kit again.

Beautiful looking Caddy. You absolutely captured the look of the 1:1.

That paint looks very smooth. I don't think you would even need to polish it. Have you considered painting the top and the rear fender coves White ?

I have used Testors one coat lacquer #1840M Flaming Orange on a '56 Nomad. The color is close but does have a little more metallic than the OEM but it looks great with Tamiya TS-46 light Sand. This will get you very close to the Sierra Gold and Adobe Beige color combination that was so popular.

You could check with any window tinting company in your area. While not common, Ihave seen cars with windows tinted with both Silver and Gold reflective film. Maybe they'll have a few scraps they would give you or charge you for some.

I try and do as much body correction as possible before the first coat of primer. After sanding everything as smooth as possible it's time for the first light coat of primer. Follow this with some very light sanding to show any other imperfections that couldn't be seen before priming. This should leave the body surface with almost no primer showing. This should bring out any surface that you couldn't see before. You may find some areas that will need additional filler or just sanding and leveling. I suggest a very light primer coat before going to color coats. I will use sanding pads in the mid to high 2000 range as this gives the color coats something to adhere to and you know that the surface is as smooth as possible.

Great idea for the roof. You will be hearing from the Mopar faithful about your valve covers soon. They look like big block Chevys to me. I like the body color.

Traditional AMT '34 Ford Pickup
espo replied to Fish_65's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very clean looking build. Nice paint and finish. The white interior and inner fenders does put it in the early '60's. The small block Chevy is a much better choice than the two the kit provided. -
I really like this idea with the Lark. Your modifications to the body make it look much lower and wider. Very nice interior and a great paint job.

Very nice looking build. You really got the glitter finish on the paint job. Nice stance and I like the big and little tires.
-
Great looking little Study. I remember when the Aluminum Moon Disks were the hub cap to have. The flames are nice also.

They are at opposite ends of the spectrum from one another, but they both look great. You captured the look of a very beat up old car and the perfect street racer in the proper shade of black. They are both detailed for just the right look.

Great looking build and nicely detailed.

Beautiful looking Corvette. I like the Valve covers and Air Cleaner. Interior looks very realistic and the Seat Belts and Ignition Keys are a perfect addition.

I like the clear top insert idea. I also think your build looks better with the chrome windshield surround and wipers.
