Revell of Germany 68 Chevelle ??
espo replied to Brutalform's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
You know you can get these at most HL and use the 40 % coupon. With sales tax undercoat and mirror glaze you're under $20. -
Good looking Pup.

Monogram '55 Chevy Street Machine - Box Art Build
espo replied to Nacho Z's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Great looking paint work. This kit obviously holds sentimental value for you, but the newer Revell '55 Bel Air Hardtop is a much better kit offering the kit standards of today. Excellent foil job. -
Ultra Bright or standard Chrome BMF?
espo replied to Hotrod 97's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I would suggest the standard "new and improved" foil. I have only bought one sheet of the "ultra bright" foil and was disappointed with how it would or wouldn't lay down. This may have changed but not that I'm aware of. The "ultra bright" foil was somewhat thicker and tended to coil up if you cut a long slender strip for a window or side chrome. -
The US Postal Service should be much better than it is, are taxes are subsidizing the Post Office.

Great looking paint and the BBS wheels really look good.

53 Ford single seater
espo replied to DumpyDan's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I love it. I remember as a child the local lumber yard had just such a truck they would use for small deliveries. You really captured the look with this build, very creative idea. -
I remember seeing one of these when they first came out. I have always thought they were the best looking "Lemo" then and now.

Very interesting, the idea of expanding the parts a little and reissuing a kit. Sounds a lot like the Round 2 business model.

Beautiful looking ride. Starting out with a three year old car must have been special at the time. Your recreation looks great, did yours also have the trunk mounted "dummy" spare ? I have built a few kits of cars I have had in the past and it always brings back pleasant memories. My Avatar is a model of one of my best ones.

Another fantastic looking build. You always make every part look so realistic. I built one of the '48 coupes with almost the same color. Having owned two different '46 thru '48 Fords a loooong time ago they hold a special place for me. I'm sorry to hear of your personal problems. I hope that something can be done with what ever brought this on.

Great looking finishes on both the interior and the body. I like the additional wheel treatment.
-
Great looking Woody. I can see why you get commission builds.

"M" mentioned the Revell kit he purchased was not shrink wrapped and was only taped close. This last week I purchased the Farm Tractor kit and had the same experience. I was concerned that someone may have gotten into the kit to pilfer parts, but that was not the case as everything was intact. Maybe with all of the changes going on with Revell this maybe their new packaging. Mine was taped on both sides and both ends.

And after these high paid CEO's put the company in the ditch they get a Golden Parachute and the working employees get zip. The CEO's way of making the companies profitable is to cut the pay and any benefit package employees may have. They rarely know how to make a business grow with any viable ideas of their own other than to slash and burn a company.

You make a very good point on the Gasser option. I think if they get enough positive feed back on their '57 Ford gasser kits they might see the opportunity to reissue any of their tri-five Chevys with the gasser option. I'm actually surprised they didn't offer it that way instead of the Ford based on just what you mentioned about the number of Chevrolet Gassers raced.

You defiantly got the "Look" with this build. I remember a Duster model called the Gold Duster and as you would expect they were all painted Gold much like your build. Most Chrysler products of that time period would have Cragers. I like the stance better than the old "Stink Bug" look.

Beautiful looking Charger. The paint finish looks almost like a Petty Blue in the picture, maybe a shade or two lighter. Great wood finish on the interior. I also like the painted steel wheels especially if they have a deep offset.

The reissue of the '77 Pinto holds zero interest to myself. On the other hand the AMT '75 Pinto or the MPC '76 Pinto would be a must have. I do remember seeing a few of these Pintos from that era running around with small block Ford V8's and they were very fast little street cars. That is the way I'd build one if ever we get to see it again. I was able to pick up the Porsche Tractor yesterday. This looks like it could be a fun fast build.

I really like your color for the body and the interior. Did you glue the trunk lid shut or does it open ? I fought that with the one I built a couple of years ago. Looking at this I have to build another more along your build theme.

I like how you built this kit. Makes you wonder if O'l Shel was still around what would he do ?
-
The finish on this is outstanding.

I think you may have a bunch of watchers on this build.

Very nice paint detailing. Amazing what a little dab of paint here and there will do to bring out the fine details.

I picked up the Revell Porsche Farm Tractor at Hobby Lobby yesterday. It's kind of a simple basic kit but looks like it will build out very nicely.
