What do you have in mind for the side window frames ?
-
One of the problems with the shifter on the old Type !'s was the bracket supporting the shifter rod. This was a very thin almost "Tin" type of bracket with an even thinner part hanging down that the shift rod was supported by. After years of pushing down on the shifter into reverse they often would fail. Not an expensive or hard part to get from VW, but a pain to have to deal with. I fashioned a bracket out of welding rod. Lasted a couple of years until I sold my '67 Type 1 Baja Bug. Couldn't afford a Hurst Shifter at that time.

The tail lights look fine. I question the rear side window openings though. In the one side view picture the angle makes it look as though the window is taller at the leading edge than where it meats the rear window. This may just be the angle, but that is what it looks like to me. Other than that it looks ready to go.

The engine and chassis looks very realistically weathered.

Hard call on dealing with your daughter's Father in Law, but it does need to be done. I think if you're hearing others remark on his score keeping then you really don't want to hear what they are saying when you can't hear them. Some of those remarks may have been made in hopes that you could correct his conduct. I can see how a group of people could assign guilt by association because of your relationship. A suggestion would be 1. get lessons to help with your scores. 2. Whisper in the instructors ear to go over score keeping. If all else fails you need to call him out in private about keeping score correctly. No one likes a cheater.

I would like to see if you have done any of the Chevrolet wagon. The Country Squire looks great.

Some 40 years on old Ted might want to think about keeping his pants on.

Very clean looking build. I like the extra touches like the seat belts and the way you detailed the engine and under hood area. The light rubbing on the fan shroud and firewall area really add to the realistic look.

'40 Ford Tudor – Late '50s Style! In Paint At Last!

Love your '50's era build. Very impressive interior. The big Olds engine looks perfect. The '56 Olds Fiesta hub caps, where did you find those ? -
Another great looking build.

Great find. How would you like to double your money ?? This would be an easy redo too your taste.

Warning, a new concern replacing "Tire Burn"

This looks to me as if this model has been exposed to a high heat situation at some point in time. From what you're saying the storage since you have had it would not cause this to happen. So it just may be that from the time it was created, packaged, shipped to the warehouse, and then the retail point it may have been stored in such a way that the wrapping melted to the body. At least you can correct it with little effort and that's a good thing. -
Ill wait for the reruns. I'm sure he's good but then I didn't watch Evil either.

I have to agree. The only problem is I bet she has caller ID.

I wish I had a dime for every dollar the neighbors spent on Fire Works for the last couple of days. The good news is we could sit on our deck and watch them blow up all their money, goes well with a bold Zinfandel. -
My condolences for your fathers passing.

I feel one of the big pluses with the Charger/Challenger/300 is that the chassis is based on the E Class chassis. This is one of the reasons for the out standing handing of these cars. Ours happens to be an RT with the AWD system and rain and snow does very little to upset it's handling. I have wanted to get a newer year model Charger but since '14 the only way to get the AWD is with the 3.6 liter six. That is a great engine, my wife has it in her '14 Avenger, but the Charger is a much heavier car and the one I drove with the AWD just didn't have the go power I wanted compared to the 5.7 Liter eight cylinder. I'm sure most would be satisfied but I'm admittedly power mad. I like imsuperdan's drawings. If any of the first three were in the showroom I'd give up my fixation with AWD.

I agree with everyone else, you really captured the look of the 1:1 Manx. The kit's headlights look a little large, but then these were small bodied in 1:1. I worked with a guy who built a 1:1 in '69 and we used to kid him about the "Bass Boat" Metal Flake color, but that is the way they were Gelcoated at that time. Your extra paint work really shows that.
-
Extremely well built and nicely detailed. I like the color combination. The engine looks perfect. I remember years ago some dealers were doing similar paint treatments on their inventory to create additional profits.

Nice finish especially being 1/32nd scale. This is one of the few 1/32 that looks like the intended subject. Ya the bumper is an easy fix, don't ask me how I know.

The kit provided Fire Extinguisher looks very nice, but yours looks outstanding. Very impressive work. This stripe thing, again please take this with a grain of salt, depending just how dominant you want these to be, I have seen some Chevelles and Camaros with one wide stripe centered on the hood and rear deck lid. Maybe you could cut up some masking tap and simulate different stripe shapes on the body before committing to any one design. I really like that Extinguisher.

I see what you mean about the side panel. Only my opinion, but I think it looks better this way, but you are correct it doesn't represent the real vehicle. The Vega of this era also offered a similar set up but the metal insert replacing side glass was mounted in this fashion. The Vega was never promoted in the same way Ford did the Pinto. The Vega was offered as a stripped down commercial type vehicle, not even a glove box door.

Very good chance that your wheels are or were developed by the Motor Wheel Corp. -
I have taken note that the letter "N" is located on the key board next to the letter "M". So with somewhat large fingers anything is possible I guess. I have often noticed that I sometimes get a letter next to the one I'm typing being included and I have to go back and remove the extra letters. So lets hope that is all that is going on. I'm not really a "Potty Mouth".
