Great looking build. Nice paint finish and real clean chrome trim. Not sure about the interior, but from what I could see it also looked good. I would have had the rear end just a tad higher but that's just me.

How does your family deal?
espo replied to Jeff31293's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have always know that I'm truly blessed to have found my wife, and after reading some of the problems others have had it just reinforces my belief. I have a bedroom in the basement, she has a Library just off the entry way. She has helped me when I go to the annual Hartland Model Show and Swap Meet. The only time I get any static is when things are tight and she thinks I might slow down on buying models, which isn't very often -
Very nice clean build.

Outstanding build. As you mentioned it isn't 100% as to the box picture, but it sure captures the Look that AMT had on the box. I agree these are great kits when new and rather simplified compared to the latest offerings but they just look right when finished.

Nice looking rig. I understand your frustration trying to find an area to do a little off roading. We have a JK that gets to get it's tires dirty from time to time. We have managed to scrape and gouge every skid plate. Even helped get a guy right side up using our wench. I don't know if you have ever considered going to a Jeep Jamboree since there are several in your area. I just checked the Catskill Mountains in Monticello N.Y. Sept. 21 - Sept 23 but there is a waiting list at this time. The Sept. 28 - Sept. 30 Main Mountains in Bethel Main is also waiting list only at this time. You might check the Jeep Jamboree web site to see about getting in next year. You might see if there is any Jeep clubs in you area that may know of any Off Road Parks in a short drive from where you live.

Had some pretty big winds (70 mph +) on Saturday night. Many in the KC Metro area without power and much damage. Out here on the edge of the prairie we only lost one 25 ft.. Smoke Tree Bush beside the deck. Just spent all morning cutting up the tree and put it all in the garden trailer to go to the city dump. Hardest part was digging up all of the roots to get the stump out.

Beautiful clean build. Great body work, very smooth transition from the T-Bird rear into the T Bucket body. The engine colors are just like OEM and the spark plug wiring is perfect.

New Build 1957 Ford Del Rio Station Wagon Finished !

I also like the color combination. I'm interested in the wheels you're using, are they two piece ? -
Very realistic looking. All the sponsor decals are hard to do on the body and wing. Wing as in the top mounted Air Foil not a fender. You got the color on the headers perfectly.

Always enjoy your Ford builds. Your extra effort on the panel lines will payoff when you're done. Is it going to be a Crown Victoria or a straight Victoria ?

Great looking conversion. I agree with others that you don't usually see the little Chevy II being used. I have only done a very few such body Mods and agree it can become difficult. The only suggestion I might offer has to do with the rear window opening. As it is right now from the picture it looks like the opening will be to tall for the El Camino rear window. If this is the case you might try and use the window surround from the El Camino. You could also create a lower and upper molding or body panel to close the gap. I would try to stay with the El Camino kits window in any case. The tail gate looks perfect as is. I like the polished Ansen type wheels, very sixties.

I had forgotten about this kit. That sure makes it easier.

I'm glad that something came together for you. Good jobs aren't as plentiful as some would want us to think. You and the Mrs.'s should go have a nice dinner out to celebrate.

Engineering Drafting after common-core math and science...

Looked at the drawing and it looked fine at first. Then I noticed something funny with the Hexnut, and then I looked at the Support and then about the time looked at the Bracket my eyes crossed. -
A lot of great looking paint techniques, I like the Flip Flop paint on the body.

Great looking build. I could see something like this at a 1:1 Autorama or something.

Nice looking pair of Chevy's.

Looks great. Where did you get the top Boot from ? It looks like you have a matching Hardtop in the back ground.

Got a mailer from Michaels a couple weeks ago for 50% off starting 7/15. Went and checked yesterday to see if they had anything that I couldn't live without. Same O Same O, they're even higher priced than Hobby Lobby and everything had been on the market for months. Went by my favorite Hobby Shop and got the new '66 Suburban. In the end I may have paid about $10 more now than what I would have paid with the Hobby Lobby 40% off coupon and I didn't have to wait six months for them to get it.

After watching your "62 Chrysler build I'm looking forward to this. While this body style didn't appeal to me at the time I think they look much better now. Did this start life as a Hardtop ? I think the three tail light thing had to do with the trim level at that time. The higher up and usually if the optional back-up lights were ordered would give you the three lights.

I always thought the HHR was an interesting vehicle, but only after they started offering the "Van" body and the ones with various side window options. You mentioned that the body does not match up with the HHR kit, makes you wonder what the caster used as a base. I don't remember any Die Cast of the HHR but there may have been. Maybe even a Piggy Bank ?? As far as suggestions go I'm sure you will get many, but you might look at the images on the internet and see what appeals to you. You may have to create your own windshield if the HHR's kit does not fit. Headlights may have to be hand painted or if the kit has a decal ?? Maybe even a NASCAR kit decal would work. For myself I would keep it asa a Van but more of a personal use rather than commercial. I'll be interested not matter what you do with it.

Like the color.

Perfect looking Hot Rod. I can almost hear the rumble of the exhaust and smell the burning rubber from here.

Beautiful Showroom Stock type build. You really captured how it would have looked when new.
