  1. Be careful. some of the AMT 1969 GTX kits have a 1968 hood But yes the Johan is light years ahead of any issue of the AMT kit. Problem is you will pay dearly for a Johan 69 GTX kit ( I know I did )
  2. fortunately, I have 2 LHS near me. both are less than 20 minutes away. Although one is more RC car/plane/boat stuff and the other is trains. ( mainly HO scale I think ) Both carry a decent model selection as well as paint and supplies. I try my best to give one or the other all my business
  3. Yep. That was me. Sorry guys for the delay getting them out when promised
  4. how about the 340 out of the AMT 1971 Duster I like the mopar 8-3/4 axle idea as well
  5. VERY nice. Always thought this was one of Ivos better looking rides. And wanted to build one ,,,just because. But cheated a few years back and found a screaming deal on a 1320 diecast
  6. I saw the original post date. Thus my question did the tooling exist back then?
  7. so by reading this , the tooling exists ,,,in at least some condition?
  8. Dude, You sure did it justice Love the seats especially.
  9. Hit the local HL near me yesterday. Nothing marked down i could find. I left empty handed.
  10. Anyone know how TS36 compares ? https://www.tamiyausa.com/articles/ln/72/TS-chart.pdf
  11. Looks killer. I built one a few years ago using the Polar Lights kit. As I feel its more accurate to the original car back then. The recent Revell kit more replicates the current new nostalgia car being campaigned today .Same goes the Chi Town Hustler
  12. Guess, Im not a 'car guy ' Funny, Ive been around cars all my life . Guess it was all just a waste
  13. Ive seen the restored car a few years ago and even in my own pics it looks red. But thought it was more of an orange. Ive got hundreds of pics and in every one the car looks red. except the 73 Duster it most definitely looks orange I did a spray out with a couple rattle cans today and none looked right.( far to red ) I'll keep looking for a better color match via rattle can
  14. Well ? In some pictures it looks red ,,others it has an orange tint to it.
  15. Dude, that is one fine looking model.
  16. Thats a dang nice looking car. Love the body style / shape
  17. With exception to one lone kit in my stash...ALL are fair game to glue and paint. I have a mint Barry Setzer Vega AA/ FC funnycar. That will remain mint in box as long as I'm breathing. (Its one of the kits i had back when new and wanted one for nostalgia reasons ) But. I have one already done. In my case. Plus a few builders should i feel the need to build another.
  18. I did the future dip on an old annual glass. And was amazed at how well it looked once dry
  19. I feel the same way. we all know they are planning an AFX car , just a matter of when . And its not like I need more shelf stock to keep me busy
  20. MPC 1970 and 71 were shaker hood only. 1972 thru 1974 were flat hood only ( with optional glue on scoop ) like mentioned the more recent snap kit is flat ,,,but molded in
  21. Pulled them out again this afternoon. The Commandos car has a very,, VERY light twist to it ( nothing some warm water will not fix ) The Leal car is near perfect.
  22. just a few days ago. i got both the Commandos and Leal cars. the body on both is pretty nice , door seams are really nice.
  23. Not sure if its just in the picture. or not. But it looks like the head light area should be deeper / recessed farther looks to flush with the outer grille mldg compared to a 1/1
