slusher Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 My best vehicle was a 80 Dodge truck with a Slant 6. I guess why I have always loved and bought mostly Chrysler products since..
Bucky Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab. I bought it in 2000, with 50,000 or so miles on it. I still have it, and it has been 321,000 miles, so far. The only major problem I've had was the transmission broke at 304,000 miles. So, I guess I really can't complain!
Miatatom Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Best as in loved it the most, my Factory Five Cobra replica, best as in best all around, our 2007 Honda CR-V. Bought it new, just turned past 125K and runs like a top. My sunny day ride 2000 Mazda Miata Special Edition is the most fun street car I ever had. Finally, the Austin Healey Sprite in my avatar is my favorite race car. I doubt I'll ever buy another gasoline engine vehicle at my age. Maybe a good electric car if they'd develop and then be able to price it so more people can afford one. Things change.
iamsuperdan Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 I'd say it was my 1993 Jeep XJ Sport. I bought that in '98 when it had 70,000km on it. Four door, 4.0L inline 6, AC, no power windows or locks, and the rare rear mounted spare. Drove that thing until it hit almost 450,000km. Over time it received 6 inches of lift and bigger tires, lighting and exhaust upgrades, a very custom stereo install, built in radar. We did a few Jeep Jamborees, lots of camping and off road adventures. Had a tree fall on it and literally bounce off the glass. Never let me down. No break downs, never towed, never left me stranded. Routine maintenance, and it was perfect. I miss this one constantly.

We had a 99 Sport 4 door with the same option except the spare. My wife loved it. I was towing a Formula Ford at the time and it worked OK but we needed 4WD so I traded it for a Durango. Big mistake! I still see it some around here. Chili Pepper Red, still sharp. Edited February 22, 2018 by Miatatom
426 pack Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 (edited) Don’t know if this counts. I’m 16 years old and my truck doesn’t run yet so I would have to say that my best is a craftsman race mower that I biult from the ground up. It took home 4th place in my first race I ever did. Sorry if this doesn’t count but it is a motorized vehicle. Edited February 22, 2018 by 426 pack
ChrisBcritter Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 (edited) The one with the best memories, carrying me and my fellow Aztec dancers all over SoCal in the early '80s: my $500 '62 Imperial. Really gotta finish this model someday... Edited February 22, 2018 by ChrisBcritter

StevenGuthmiller Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 (edited) My favorite car is one that I still own. My '69 Pontiac Grand Prix. But the best one that I ever owned in terms of reliability & that sort of thing was an '87 Mazda B 2000 pickup. Steve Edited February 22, 2018 by StevenGuthmiller
moparfarmer Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 My first new car, 1969 Sport Satellite, bright bronze with white top, White/tan interiorBuckets and center seat..383 4BBL..Wish I still had it but traded it for a 70 Challenger..Long gone now, and still haven't seen one in the same color scheme with a 383..
THarrison351 Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Still own it. My dad gave me his barely used 2006 Hyundai Azera in 2008 (1500 miles), one month before he passed. I drive it every day and will probably drive it til it dies or I die.
Fat Brian Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Honestly? A 1989 Cutlass Calais 2 door with a 3.3 v6. You couldn't kill that car and it never broke down on us once in over a decade and we bought it used. The people we sold it to couldn't kill it either, as far as I know it's still running somewhere.
Classicgas Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 2 of them. A 1989 Geo Metro, Never spent a penny on anything other than tires brakes and oil changes until at about 160,000 had to put in a set of control arm bushings. My second best was a 2000 Saturn SL1. I had 204,000 on it when I sold it. Only reason I did that was my mother in law gave me her 02 Ford Escort, which had 96,000 on it. I drive 60 miles a day for work so having a car with lower miles made sense. It's been a good car so far.
TarheelRick Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 My most favorite car I ever owned was a 1965 Chevelle SS with a 283 four speed. It may not have been the best, but it sure was fun to drive. My second most favorite was a 1972 Volkswagen Wesphalia Van, had a real blast with that one.
58 Impala Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 I've had many vehicles, but my most reliable were a 98 VW Golf GL and 87 Nissan Hardbody truck.

1972coronet Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 FAVOURITE : My 1973 Duster . Bought it for 70$ in February 1992 , and had it for 7 months before someone ran a red light and plowed-into the Duster's right-front . MOST FUN : 1969 Dart GTS . Originally a 340-powered model , its original owner converted it to big block motivation in 1985 : 440 with Kellogg stroker crank ( bringing displacement up to 496 cubes ) , Direct Connection spool mount K-member , Art Carr 727 , etc. , etc. I didn't technically own it ; I went-in thirds on its purchase ( my share was 300$ out of a 1,000$ purchase ! ) . Sold my 'share' of it in spring 1994 . MOST-VERSATILE : 1970 Ranchero GT . Parts chaser and all around fun vehicle ! Two barrel 351 Cleveland , FMX ( trouble-free , and firm-shifting ) , etc. MOST-RELIABLE : 1990 Corolla LE sedan . My parents bought it new in Feb 1990 , drove it for nine years , then sold it to me when they bought a new Camry . That car got an honest 35 MPG , with 40 MPG on long-distance runs . I sold it for $1,500 when before its transmission soured .
NOBLNG Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 (edited) This would be mine! It is a '54 Willys on a Chevy Blazer frame.I went with a Buddy in his CJ7 to the Dakota Territory Challenge with it one year and LOTS of local 4 wheeling! I would love to find a model of this!! I also have a 2013 Mazda MX5 that is loads of fun to drive. Edited February 22, 2018 by NOBLNG
Jantrix Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 My favorite was my first, a '75 Olds Delta 88 2 door. Very nostalgic, lots of great memories. The best was a '98 Dodge Stratus. Four cylinder. And I say that because, though she wasn't that fast, but she was just that reliable. With regular maintenance, she never once left me stranded, never a no-crank in the morning. She never let me down for near 200,000 miles. Eventually the head gasket blew and that was that. Great car though, she handled well in all conditions with decent tires on her. Comfortable too. That all-important elbow/door to hand/steering wheel distance was perfect.
cobraman Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 I guess the "best' vehicle I ever owned is the one I have now. It's a 2002 Ford F 150 XLT Supercrew. I bought it new in December 2001. It has served me well and still does. Normal maintenance like tires and batteries. Just turned 100,000 miles last month.
JollySipper Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 My most reliable car was a little Mazda GLC hatch-back......... (Great Little Car, it was!) It had a total of 250K miles on it when I finally retired it. All I ever had to do to it was a CV axle change..... The most fun vehicle was my old truck, a '71 Dodge SWB Sweptline... It would be a Rat Rod by today's standards. Never had nice paint, but the built 318 with Rochester carb, headers, and 3.91 gears made it a blast to drive.....
Greg Myers Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 20 minutes ago, Foxer said: Every "current car" has been the best. Pretty much a truism. Most fun ( also most worked on to keep running ) '58 MGA Roadster in collage 1967-1968 Most Bitchin and everything else, 1960 El Camino, 283. headers, three twos. four speed. chrome reversed rims. Best ? Foxer's right, most recent, 2013 Maxima. does it all. Sitting next to my '69 Charger beats the numbers in every way but cool.
Erik Smith Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Best or favorite? Best, probably 2010 Honda CR-V. Boring though. Favorite, 1999 Miata. Longest owned is a 2000 Subaru Legacy Wagon (bought used in 2004) - but I’ve put two sets of head gaskets on it - other than that..it’s unbeatable in the snow. Nothing really fancy or noteworthy, really.
