jbattersby
Hi guys, I'd like to share my most recent build, I call it the Skunkworks Z28. It is the 1969 Camaro Z28/RS model from Revell, built box stock except for the slotted rims and tires which come from the Monogram Ford Street T Roadster and Trailer kit. All of the chrome was stripped and painted using Alclad, but keeping the coats to a minimum to go for more of a dark chrome look. The front facia inner area and rear taillight panels were done in Fluorescent orange, and the body is finished in Tamiya Acrylic German Grey XF-63 and cleared with Tamiya Semi-Gloss Clear X--35. The Skunkworks Decals come from the Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk Kit, and the numbers come from an unknown Gundam decal sheet. Since this generation of Camaro is already stunning, I just wanted to put my own spin on it with the wheel/tire combo and a unique paint job. Enjoy! Thanks, unfortunately I didn't take any, it's just the box stock Z28 engine, block done also in the Fluorescent orange. If I do take some I'll add it to the post. Cheers! matthijsgrit
Well done! You managed to build this in a very original style. It looks ready to race to me.
larman
Very stealthy! Nice subtle contrast between the body and wheel sheen. Also like the accents, just enough to make it pop!
Deuces
Yep! Looks like it's ready to butt heads with the Boss 302 Mustangs.... ☺️? Edited September 29, 2019 by Deuces

oldcarfan
This is really good build! I've been trying a similar thing with some Porsche 911s. I've got some Gundam decals as well and they are nice.
Snake45
Very nice! But I beat you to it. I had my real '69 Camaro painted almost that exact color in 1978. Well done and model on!

TarheelRick
Have to agree with the others, this is one nasty, sinister machine. Very well thought out photography also.
Peter Lombardo
Very neat concept, different and well done........ curious, is this a curbside? Regardless, I really like the colors and how the fluorescent orange contrasts against it . sharp. Was the "Goodyear" logo sprayed onto the tires?
