Big Christmas present finally arrived after being lost by the courier for a nerve-wracking couple of weeks!

monza-XL.jpg

It'll sit nicely next to the big Airfix Bentley in my cabinet. Now I just have to decide whether to build it in iconic red, or as the specific prototype detailed in this rather excellent book...

best,

M.

This just arrived in the mail this morning. 1956 Desoto. Un-assembled and never opened. Of course I had to open it. And the Ply,mouth Fury arrived Christmas Eve day.

Nice score. I have a convertible 56 DeSoto. Where did you get yours? I have the Chrysler 300 interior parts to use on mine.

You have a convertible Tom? Is it a resin?  I would have like mine better if it was a 2 door but I don't think they made them as promos. The Fury I got from a guy's Mopar Facebook site. One little vent window post is broken but it's in the box. That little piece on the back of the vent window.

There was an actual rim company that made those...so it's a thing.

Ronal made them, they are called Teddybear (no surprise there...)

I spotted them on a Chevy/daewoo not too long ago.

I have seen pictures of them painted as winnie the phoo.

I was lucky enough to get a pretty cool modelling accessory for Christmas from my wife - a really cool photo booth!

I’m impressed so far with it - it came with a bunch of different color backdrops and has two LED lightbars front and back and various diffusers and so on - way cool!

I also scored a Shoebox Ford:

And, not modelling related but still cool - a Miata shirt! ?

There was some other stuff too, but I’m sure you all don’t want to see my socks that I got ?

I got the same '50 Ford too! And a Lindberg custom '37 Ford.  Which is OK, that's the old Testors Boyd's Smoothster kit.  It has a nice modern drivetrain and a chassis that will fit under quite a few bodies with a little tweaking.

Thanks for showing the photo booth.  I'm looking for one and yours is nice.

I got them from ucsp on ebay, but they have their own site too. I would look on both as theres usually some differences between their site and ebay listings. They come with tyres and mounting parts for tamiya and aoshima mounts.

That is a great looking Photo Booth. I would like to get one of those also, depending on price of course, maybe you could tell us were to find that booth. The Show Boat '50 Ford is a great kit and had a lot of custom options. As I recall the Flat Head had optional aluminum heads and multiple carbs.

This is a ’Samtian’ brand booth - not that that means much to me but I like the quality!  Mine is their 16” sized one, but they do a 24” one too.  I’d be tempted to have the bigger one if I had the room, but apartment living in New York means that space is at a premium, so...

Here’s a link to the one I’ve got:

Thank you for the information. Now if I can just convince my wife owes me something from Christmas.

I got this for $40, shipping included. I've been wanting one, for a while. It's all there. Some of it's (obviously) painted,  but, other than that, it's in fine shape! I didn't see the penciled notation on the box lid, before I got it. I happen to have Hot Rod Magazine's Yearbook #11. I opened it up, and there's a great article on this car! That was convenient! These photos are from the auction...

The '57 Buick Roadmaster is an Argentine toy cribbed directly from the AMT promo but in styrene; it was a project Tom and I were both discussing doing (just got a '58 Buick chassis for it).

Just got a parts car for the Roadmaster, pretty cheeep:

Body's got the usual issues plus glue damage, but I just wanted it for the better-detailed chrome. We'll see how it all fits the non-shrunken Argentine styrene. Wish it had the correct wheelcovers, but I do have a damaged Franklin Mint '53 Skylark I can swipe the spokers from...
