i wish my local walmart had kits at the moment i would get one of those country charger kits

I wish the Walmarts around here had kits EVER! I haven't seen a kit in Walmart in probably 10 or 15 years except right before Christmas '24 they had about 6 in the isle but I had them all already...  Also jealous of you guys that mention other stores- Ollies for example. I guess we don't have any of those stores around my neck of the woods in NH that I know of. For me it's Hobby Lobby or the internet...  :(   The best deal I can expect is from Hobby Lobby when they do the 40% discount, but I have all the ones I'm interested in until they come out with some new ones.

My local Walmart has kits, but nothing I’d pay full price for. Been waiting on them to hit the clearance aisle lol.  Also hobby lobby is dead to me they never have nothing new at all besides the recent AMT releases. I believe the charger n bronco, but that’s it.

Ditto to the tee, I believe it was also 2024 Christmas our local Walmart had a cardboard display, I did score the AMT '55 gasser then, but once they were gone, zip... no more. As for the nearest Ollie's, high crime area, so nope not worth going too.

A little ol' IMC Mustang II kit was looking at me with big sad eyes when I stopped at a yard sale coupla days back. Only model there. Cheap. Missing "a few minor parts"...like everything mechanical...and a little "started", but a virgin body and all the panels and lights, glass, chrome, interior, etc., definitely enough to build it straight as a historical piece with a few spares from the stash.

I built one way back when they first came out, with a balsa wagon roof. Not very good work, but an interesting concept I might visit again with this one (I think I have a cherry around somewhere to build as upgraded OOB).

Not here yet but on it's way. A friend of our two son's at school, the lad's father had one as his daily runabout. The man had an F1/F2 exhaust manufacturing shop!

Oh it's my birthday present (St Patricks Day) I'm only 77, so I'm adding the two together and I'm back at 14 years old! My dear wife of 57 years tells me that's the age I've always been!

I'm 62. I always tell my wife , if the little boy in a man goes away, the man dies. It's the little boy that keeps us going.

…and the Boss Nova followed me home:

Wish I’d grabbed the Monte Carlo too now…

Appreciate the heads up on this.  Checked the Schererviile store while running an errand and was surprised to see they had kits too.  They had the cardboard stand in the middle of the main back aisle.

Was surprised to see it's different than the displays from a couple years ago: just plain white cardboard, about three feet high and open on one side.  If I hadn't been approaching from the open side, I would have totally missed it.  Was only about 1/3 full, so SOMEBODY is buying these kits.  Hopefully that prompts them to restock.

This is the first time I've seen kits at ANY of my local Walmarts in several years.  Picked up a disco Nova and a pair of fat Cougars. 😉

They’re a better deal than they were last time around too!  Sorry, I should’ve mentioned that it was the Valparaiso store, but I’m glad you figured it out!

Nice! Will have to get one of these .........

The engine he has for this is incorrect, bummer

Did these originally come with 18x8 wheels on all 4 corners?

I got a 1/24th Welly Porsche Macan in today. It was listed as damaged, but all the parts are there, so it was cheap. I'll do something with it like I'm doing with the white Welly Cayenne I've been slowly working on.

Big pile of high end resin winding it's way through the mail. I'm interested/dreading in whether or not I'm going to have to pay some mysterious government entity 10% or not to actually receive it.

Far as model stuff goes, does a book count?  I got the FPP resin kit awhile ago, but the book was found at the antique auto club swap meet recently.  I'm having an OCD attack, can see many details on his box art that does not jive with the photographs.

Picked up a couple AMT '64 Mercury kits at Ollie's. Their flyer mentioned a "huge buyout". All we have local is a few more of the Mercs, a couple of Cement Mixers, a Fruehauf closed trailer, some different ships, P-39 Aircobra, and the 1/48 fuel truck.
