You did a great job with how rough it was!
  2. Excellent point and one that has been made fairly often. But yet, we are still heading down the tracks like a runaway freight train towards electric cars. I have this weird feeling that the powers that be know this, and when the power grids start having problems, they will be more than happy to regulate our driving.
  3. Yes, the glues were not good, but we have to put this into historical perspective. In the 1960's and early 1970's kids were sniffing solvent based glues to get high. As I recall, a number of them did suffer brain damage. Mush like some of today's kids are inhaling the contents of the aerosol cans we use to remove dust from computer equipment.
  4. You did a great job with how little of the original kit was left.
  5. Great job Pat. It's a lot more difficult to take a race car and turn it into a street car than the other way around. You did it very well.
  6. If you feel up to it, you may want to file a complaint with your state's Attorney General's office. $5.95 is not a lot of money, but they are putting through the hassle of getting a new credit card, and very likely, you are not the only one that has had this happen. At the very least, as part of the AG's investigation, you should get an explanation from Motor Trend as to what happened.
  7. Great job! I built both the Escalade and the Hummer a number of years ago as well.

  19. Fabulous work! Just simply amazing.
  20. I am no fan of this technology. These vehicles will wreck and a big rig that has been hacked is a truly frightening prospect to me. But, the allure of this technology to the trucking industry is big. Here's why. There is a tremendous shortage of truck drivers. Drivers can only operate their trucks 8 - 10 hours (I believe) and then they have to rest. Payroll and fringe benefits are about 75% of a typical company's expenses. I can see these operating on rural highways and then drivers taking over when they get into an urban setting. I most sincerely hope these things are not allowed to run amok in urban settings or in areas prone to bad weather. But as that baseball philosopher Joaquin Andujar once said: "There is one word in America that says it all, and that one word is, 'You never know.'" Unfortunately, there are powerful interests pushing this AI stuff, and until there is a huge failure (which will happen), we will have this forced on us.
